As someone who has lived in an older home for several years, I've struggled to find hardware stores that cater to the specific needs of older homes. But Zegeer Hardware exceeded my expectations! Their staff was knowledgeable about the various types of fuses and were able to recommend the best options for my home. The store was well-stocked with a large selection of fuses, and I could find everything I needed. The prices were reasonable, and the customer service was fantastic. I just moved here in June. I went into their hardware store they were nothing but kind to me I was trying to fix my place up and and I needed a lot of stuff. They were kind and they helped me so much I appreciate them immensely they told me about the town and that helped. It's a great place to go into if you need individual care like I did I definitely appreciate their help nice small town people that care about each other.

Half the store is inaccessible with boxes laying all over the floor. You can’t expect customers to describe exactly what they need or point to it on a poster/display without being able to hold it in their hands, compare to similar items, or even check the price tag. This is supposed to be a hardware store, not a jewelry store. Will gladly take the long way home and stop by Pile Hardware next time.

A great store when you need help. They are knowledgeable about hardware. Quick to help you and prices are reasonable. I recommend this hardware store. To those who have had a rough experience at the store. LOOK. We are all humans and sometimes we just have rough days. Give them a break.

I don't hardly ever give poor reviews but if I could give this place -stars I would. The lady working in there today was so rude. I was having some keys made and she made me feel like a inconvenience and tried to just rush me out the door. I was told to keep in mind that they were about to start getting busy with their noon rush. I wasn't being difficult, rude or hateful. The last time I went in I guess the owner was working and rude doesn't even come close to describing that man. I WILL NOT be going back there ever again.

Friendly encounter. Needed paint and a key which had to be done by the only staff on duty. Helpful even managed to wait in several other customers without me feeling slighted. Found a few items I have questions about will return hopefully during a slow period.

The shop has a huge selection of items and owners Richard and Julie Zegeer are super nice and knowledgeable people. They have lots of tools, basic household/garage and gardening equipment, and also make keys. If you prefer to support local business over big box, this is an easy choice. The easiest way to park is to go east toward the state Capitol and turn right into the lot. You also can leave the lot through the alley behind the store for easier navigation.

We needed "brass" numerals for our new mailbox and could not find them anywhere in the Greater Kanawha Valley. By chance, we stopped at Zegeer - not sure it was a viable business. There were no cars in their parking lot. Much to our surprise, they had exactly what we needed. They operate a 1st class, well stocked hardware store.

The owners were more than happy to help me acquire what I needed, however they seem to treat people like everyone is coming in there to steal. They didn't want me to wander around the store and browse, they told me I should wait at the counter up front.Maybe it's because of how I look, with my scruffy beard and my hobo-esque fashion sense. How I look shouldn't be used to judge whether I'm going to steal or what the current status of my bank account is.So while they were helpful I kind of have to say they were rude. I probably wouldn't go back I would go out of my way to go elsewhere.Maybe I'll travel the extra few minutes to go to pile hardware instead in the future.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.Unlike your average corporate hardware store, this small business provides ASTOUNDING service with a sweet charm. Immediately as I walked in, I was greeted by the owner and asked if I needed assistance. I told him I was looking for a Mid-Century paint for my walls, and he handed me a booklet, letting me know he was around if I needed further assistance.He then showed me all the different size options from sample to big gallons of paint, and gave me detailed, honest opinions on each color and finish. He helped my struggle with finding the PERFECT orange for my kitchen, and made me a sample immediately. He showed me a swatch of paint to describe the variation of color in the drying stage, and offered multiple items to aid me as well. As soon as I swatched the color on my walls, I knew he nailed it, and walked right back into the store to grab a gallon.He and his wife are the perfect pair, and work hard together to make sure every customer is satisfied. Their prices are ASTOUNDING, and it is a pleasure to support local business that does everything in their ability to provide great customer service and teach a young lady how to properly paint a wall, scrape old paint off of windowsills, and even clean up old apartment caulk.HIGHLY RECOMMEND . I will always go to them for all my renovating needs! Plus, they have an adorable dog, so if I could give an extra star for that, I would!

store clerk this morning allowed a customer of thiers to be disrespectful to my wife , was rude, customer told her she needed to wait outside and the clerk not only allowed this, asked her too , because she had forgotten her mask in our water plumbing emergency.... so in haste. I sent her to our friendly neighborhood store. Will not make the mistake twice.

Zegeer Hardware is better than any big box hardware store. Store owner, Richard Zegeer is a professional; happy, kind, polite, and helpful. The store is clean, set-up so customers can quickly find what they need. However, store owners Richard & Julie Zegeer are customer service focused - if the product is not in the store, they are happy to order it, if available through one of their providers.

Terrific neighborhood hardware store. Personal service from Richard and Julie (the owners) and they really know their product! Need advice just ask them and they can either tell you how or tell you who can do "it", whatever "it" happens to be . . .! Good old fashioned SERVICE unlike the rush and run around you get at the Big Box stores. Highly Recommend.
