We happened upon this place on Google Maps, and how can you not try someplace with a 4.9/5 review with 186 reviews. The food was absolutely incredible! We had a baked steak dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and a dinner roll. We also had lightly breaded tilapia, baked macaroni and cheese, buttered corn, and a roll. Finally, we had a taco salad that was LOADED with toppings, including the meat! While we sat there, I kept eyeballing the cooler. We are not dessert eaters, but the chocolate pie was telling me to try it. My son ordered a pumpkin roll, and we enjoyed the fluffiness of it. The macaroni and cheese was the absolute best I've ever had. I sent a picture to a relative, and they requested that I bring it home to them 3 hours away. The server and all the staff made us feel very, very welcome even though it appears to mostly be a take-out restaurant. They were very busy with walk-ins and phone orders, and yet we never felt like an afterthought. The proximity to the interstates made this an even better find. It's quite literally one of the most convenient restaurants in Charleston. Don't let the facade scare you off! It's a hidden gem that I'm so glad we found.Dietary restrictions: Tons of KETO options including desserts

I’ll start with saying this place does not get the proper credit and chance that it deserves. This is definitely one of the top meals I’ve had in over a year. The family Barb and Mike that run this and the server that has been there for years really care and spent way more time with me than I deserved. The warm cream peas are the the best I’ve ever had. You have got to get out here and give them a shot. I’m extending my stay by another day so that Barb can do her Tomato Pie for me and maybe a skillet fried Chicken Sandwich.

I had heard ALOT about this place having great food, so I thought we'd give them a try. I suspected the "atmosphere" was going to be minimal. That didn't worry me since, after all, I usually go to a restaurant for the food, NOT the ambiance, which only adds to the cost but does little for my belly.This is very basic, down-home comfort food cooking. Nothing fancy but very tasty. The "atmosphere" is very much like sitting at the kitchen table, with the flowered vinyl tablecloth, in your grandma's old house, while the smell of cooking food surrounds you. Actually, the cooking smells (& sounds) coming from the kitchen just around the corner, brought back some fond memories for me. The dining room with only 3-4 tables already felt crowded even though we were the only dine-in customers at the time. If you're at all claustrophobic or still social distancing, then be advised and phone in a pickup/delivery order instead.Hubs loved his dinner of sausage, home fries & cabbage followed by pineapple upside-down cake. He had sweet tea to drink, which was actually strong enough to be real tea (not just pale brown, sweet water like so many other restaurants serve these days!) & the portions were generous. Unfortunately, my dinner was not so memorable. The veggies were great, the sweet tea was great, & the pineapple upside-down cake was great... but the meat was overcooked & tough.Admittedly, we were there late in the day & I apparently got the very last serving per our server & the fact, they turned down several phone-in orders while we were there. I can really understand how this little restaurant would be a perfect spot for grabbing some quick to-go, home-cooked meals after work without any hassles. Much, much better than fast food junk & about the same price.Just to be fair, I've decided I won't hold my first try against them. Hubs really enjoyed his meal & I'm willing to give this little family run restaurant another chance in the near future. We'll just have to make sure we go earlier in the day for our next test run.

I absolutely love this place! It is such a hidden gem in Charleston. I've been doing keto for some time now and love their meals and desserts. Lately it's been more about the desserts for me (the coconut cream pie - keto version is hands down my favorite dessert) but they have wonderful home cooked meals as well. Everything they make has a regular dish and keto version (most things). They also have pint sized containers with weekly specials (like chicken salad) and also freezer meals that are so reasonably priced. If you want a home cooked meal this is your place. I cannot recommend them enough. I'm looking forward to trying some of their freezer meals so soon.I had to add two new pictures to my review. The keto seven layer cookie bar and chocolate peanut butter pie. Both were so good 😍UPDATE - I seriously cannot recommend this place enough! They are such a huge asset to our community delivering healthy meals but those that have diet restrictions.Dietary restrictions: Keto meals daily and keto desserts!

A real treat happens to be the WV Corner Kitchen. It is like entering the kitchen of your grandma, where every dish is a hug. The vibe is comfortable and inviting, causing you to feel right at home. The food? It really is utterly delicious, man! Ideal homestyle food preparation each time. How about the staff? She is super friendly and always available with a smile. It is the ideal setting for a cozy dinner. It is a must-see if you are ever in the area!

What a great meal! We had the Chicken Cobb Salad and the Meatloaf. So good! And the owners were warm and welcoming. We are typically not creamed pea eaters (honestly, who is?) but these were so good! The meatloaf was like Grandma’s and the salad was fresh and crispy.We were passing through WV from MI to VA and did not want franchise fast food or take out. Happened across this little hole in the wall spot doing a Google map search for restaurants. I called 1/2 hour before we got there and it was ready and waiting for us. It could not be any easier to get on and off the freeway. Just one block away.Thank you WV Corner Kitchen. We’ll see you as we’re passing through next week!

If you like home cooking, this is the place for you! Please don't expect an elegant setting. You will get generous portions of whatever you order. The glass of sweet iced tea was large! Very friendly staff!Parking: Parking is at the rear of the building.

Very good food! First time trying this res and was very impressed ! Mac n cheese is killer, steak cooked great, everything fresh and delivered hot and well packaged! They even take the time to wrap the contai to avoid spills an help with insulation. Will be visiting soon

My wife ordered for delivery gave them directions and number in case they weren't sure where we wasthey had our number it was an hour after order no delivery so wife called them they say it is on the way then delivery man called said he was here on 6 th floor can't find you well we live on the 8 th floor 🤔he also questioned my wife did she know where she lived 😂he finally said I'm at wrong address well you think 🤔 then it took him 15 minutes more to get there not a sorry or anything so the food was cold and smashed up not eatable my wife then calls talks to manger she said she was going to put money back on our card this was Thursday then Saturday we get a call from her husband saying he was going to give us chicken salad and pea salad well chicken was $7 and pea salad was $6 and two desserts well the order my wife paid for was $33.64 this comes no where close to what we paid ! It doesn't add up and it doesn't seems right to say one thing then do another,only reason they did this was to get the chicken and pea salad out before they left for vacation , needless to say they have loss our business and our respect we ordered from them at least twice a week..

😋Who feeds me most often? WV Corner Kitchen. 😋Absolutely phenomenal! I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free. Below is the spaghetti squash with green beans with a cheddar biscuit it is not only GLUTEN-FREE BUT KETO ALSO!🍽The dinner is a frozen meal and prepared fresh $5!! Yes! 5!! It has a lot in it. Feels like it weighs 3lbs easy. ->😃>Side note- I purchased 7 frozen meals for $30. I enjoyed each one. I took them on a trip to the beach, packed in a cooler on a 12 hr trip and still frozen upon arrival. Saved me from cross contamination(gluten term) and being glutened which always happens when dining out of town. Not ever at WV Corner Kitchen!🍰 The pumpkin roll is also Gluten free and Keto. I was blown away! So creamy, smooth, moist, buttery awww!! A dream come true. It's been years since I enjoyed a pumpkin roll and this was the best one I ever had.💯Seriously #1 to me... WV Corner Kitchen is home cooked, affordable, and cater to the needs of those with special diets. I love them! Great people too.

Delicious Keto dinners! They offer frozen dinners as well. We ordered several, but so far have only tried the spaghetti squash, and baked steak. Both are absolutely delicious! Who knew keto food could be so good. The spaghetti squash tasted like baked spaghetti with lots of meat. The green beans were well seasoned; I could make a meal out of those alone. The baked steak came with cauliflower mash and was tender and hearty. You can message them on Facebook for weekly menus. They’re super affordable, and are a great alternative to meal prep services. Highly recommend!

Keto Baby Back BBQ ribs were delicious! The meat just fell off the bones. I got my husband the Keto Coconut cream pie & he said it was delicious. I told him it was keto after he ate it and he didn’t know the difference. Highly recommend this place.

Been wanting to visit this restaurant for months and finally got to go today!I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!GREAT FOOD, FAST SERVICE and easy to find, Right off the exit!The food was WELL WORTH the money!I got the Keto Chopped Steak with the Baked Cheesy Cauliflower and Stewed Tomatoes, YUMMMMMMY is all I can say! It was AMAZING!My sister got their Cabbage and Cornbeef with Fried Potatoes and she decided to try their FAMOUS MAC N CHEESE!SHE LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT!!!DEFINITELY TRY THIS PLACE!YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Ate at WV Corner Kitchen today. This is a great place with really nice owners. Great customer service and very friendly place. We got the cuban sandwiches and they were very good and authentic. They were so good, we ordered dinner from there the same day. We got the open faced roast beef with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was delicious and tasted like grandma made it. We also got the chopped steak with mushrooms/onions, Mac and cheese and greens. It was also delicious. Their Mac and cheese has won many awards and is very creamy and flavorful. Everyone needs to try this place, it is a hidden gem in Charleston, WV. Can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu.

First time eating here and was sort of skeptical because it’s not your normal average restaurant.. Let me tell you, when they brought out our food we were blown away! Especially the pineapple upside down cake.. I’ve never met anyone that could touch my grandmas but let me tell you, best pineapple upside down cake to date! The mac n cheese was DELICIOUS. My husband had the tilapia and he spoke very highly of it. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Food was affordable. We would rather give our money to someone local, and this is one we will definitely support in the future as well!

First time was today, and it was great price for home-cooked meals, nice portions. We had the salmon croquet dinner and the baked steak dinner. Mac and cheese is award winning locally, was some of the best ever. Sampled their ham salad and also the bologna salad, got a ham salad, try some. Dessert we got a cherry cheesecake and a pineapple cheesecake, both very delicious. Friendly staff, met the owner also. Thank you, we enjoyed it. Next time I want to be there for meatloaf day!

On Thanksgiving Eve, I stopped by this place to see if they could accommodate our party of 12. Without hesitation they said yes. We arrived at 3PM on Thanksgiving and could see they were busy serving the folks inside, as well as preparing to-go turkey or ham platters to those waiting outside. We were seated within minutes of arriving, and had our drink orders delivered to the table in no time. With 8 kids ranging from almost 10 months to 13, we were not a quiet crowd! We were welcomed and asked frequently if any of our needs were unmet (they weren't, as Melissa was very attentive). Our delicious, home-cooked Thanksgiving meal was just what we needed to recharge for the remainder of our vacation here in West Virginia. The ham and turkey were both juicy and tasty. The mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, Mac and Cheese, and cranberry salad were better than any place we ever have eaten out. And the cherry cheese cake didn't last but a minute on the table. Absolutely evident it all was made with care (and yummy recipes worth asking about). If we weren't returning to our home outside of Philadelphia on Saturday morning, we would definitely return for an encore meal soon! Thank you, Corner Kitchen, for filling our bellies with good eats, and for welcoming us into your home.

Everything we tried was well seasoned well cooked great service nice little place that has different things every day so you can always try something different definitely some good home cooking highly recommended! 10 stars will be returning. We have the pulled pork and the meatloaf we tried the green beans the mac and cheese the cheesy cauliflower was really amazing. Real mashed potatoes and gravy that's really hard to find. They peel them fresh from hand these are real mashed potatoes.

This place and these people are wonderful! You cannot get a home cooked meal not to mention a Keto version anywhere for the prices they charge! Everything I’ve ever had from there is just like mama used to make. They even have frozen meals ready to purchase for those busy nights you don’t have time to cook or stop somewhere but don’t want to feed yourself fast food junk. I cook for my parents daily and when I was going on a week long vacation, I bought them frozen memes from The Corner and felt better about leaving town knowing they would be eating well while I was gone. The variety of options is unmatched. The portions are HUGE. There isn’t one bad word I can say about this heavenly local business. If you love them, support them. If you haven’t tried them, do it. You will NOT regret your decision. Trust me.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now, after seeing the reviews. I'm a big pizza guy, so I got the tomatoe cheese pie. Let me tell you.. it did NOT disappoint! I called about 15 min before arriving, the pizza was ready basically as soon I got there. I ordered it well done and it had the perfect crisp on the crust. The owner greeted me very nicely and even had a few jokes being my first time. All of the food coming out looked incredible! He let me try their Mac n cheese for free and I can see why it is award winning! I'll deff be back, probably tomorrow lol. You have to get to this little hidden gem! Prices were reasonable as well.
