Love this shop! Have been stopping in Sullivan’s when I come to Charleston for many years now. The new location is close to some nice restaurants and a little park in a very cool little restored part of town. The owner has always been very fun to talk to and gets as excited about records as I do. Prices are very reasonable and the last time I stopped in the selection was the most amazing it has ever been. The shop had way more I wanted than I had money to spend. lol! Gives me a great reason to go back again and again. The shop is very classy and has lots of hard to finds by all my favorite bands. Go support this shop and make sure little businesses like this stick around. A must stop for any vinyl collector… I find something I can’t live without every time I go.

Sam has created an amazing record store that has a vast selection and, honestly, a really great vibe. Well-organized and clean, Sullivan’s has the old school feel of a record store when record stores were the ONLY place to get music, without the snobbery you’d meet in modern independent record stores in the country. Sam is genuinely stoked about music of all kinds and can talk to you about any genre. The location is close to more great shopping and restaurants. If you’re in Charleston, don’t sleep on Sullivan’s.

Sam has cultivated such a wonderful collection of albums, spanning every genre and meeting high quality standards. The store has a warm and welcoming vibe that makes you want to spend the whole day flipping through every single album available. Plus, Sam is so enthusiastic about what he does! The moment I stepped into Sullivan's Records, I was immediately struck by the sheer variety and depth of their collection. Not only do they carry new releases and popular titles, but they also have a vast selection of vintage and hard-to-find records that are simply priceless. The store itself is well organized and clean, making it easy to browse through the records. I could spend hours combing through the stacks. Overall, Sullivan's Records is a must-visit for any music lover. Their amazing selection, knowledgeable staff, and welcoming atmosphere make it one of the best record stores around. I highly recommend checking it out, and I can't wait to return for my next visit!

Excellent selection with new records every time we visit, and they can usually order most things they don't have in immediate stock, within reason. The owner is as knowledgeable as he is friendly, and we look forward to stopping by any time we are in the area

Sullivan's is the #1 spot for your vinyl needs! They have a gorgeous arrangement of new & used records as well as a wide variety of used books. If you've never been check them asap, Sam is friendly with a vast knowledge of music and general entertainment info. Have had several special orders and all arrived very timely and at a fair price.

Sullivan’s Records is a fantastic shop! Not only a great selection of new and old records, but the atmosphere is very welcoming. Staff are extremely cool and helpful. I ended up just talking with them for a while when I was last there. Great store for a wide variety of records/books.

This is, without a doubt, my favorite record store. The owner exudes passion for everything he sells. I live on the West Coast but my family lives in Charleston. I haven’t missed an opportunity to stop in every time I’m back.

Sullivan's records is a great vinyl record shop in Charleston, WV. Although his selection is smaller than many other used vinyl stores, his selection of perfectly curated vinyls was awesome. Case in point, I'd been looking for Janis Joplin's greatest hits, which is HARD to find, and found it in his shop. A-mazing!! Check it out next time you're in Charleston, WV.

Clean but small store packed with a LOT of vinyl records. I don't know how long it's been open, but it looks like some more time is needed for inventory sorting. There is a lot to look at that's sorted and organized, but there is a ton more in boxes and crates that just seems kinda random. It's a cool shop though. It kinda reminded me of Budget back in the day before John was forced to turn his focus away from the music to keep his store open.

Sam is a cool guy. His shop has a great selection of new and used music, and easily the best selection of vinyl in Charleston. He'll custom order records for you too with no additional shipping cost which means supporting your local record store ends up actually being quite a bit cheaper than buying from most places online (Vinyl shipping is $$). Plus, you get to talk to a real live human being. Come out and support the shop. We want to keep nice things like this in the East End.

Finding a good vinyl record store can be a challenge. However, this place is amazing. Why? Because of it's simplicity. It's not trying to be a clothing outlet, or a head shop. It's a record store. And it's full of wonderful, amazing, musical gold. On top of that, the owner is a cool cat. Friendly, talkative, polite, and will go out of his way to find what you are looking for. Worth your time.

We love stopping in Sullivan's Records every time we travel to Charleston. We are avid vintage vinyl hunters and always find true gems there. Sam and the other employees are very knowledgable and easy to talk with about things we are looking for, what they have in stock, and what they may be able to acquire. Highly recommend this store!

One of Charleston's Best!While Sullivan's does have used CD's/ DVD's the highlight by far is the new and used vinyl.There are racks upon racks of used vinyl to peruse through as well as new. Every genre and era of music are represented. Found an original 2001 Space Odyssey Vinyl, great find!Most of what Sam has gotten in for me has been special orders/limited editions. I have eclectic tastes and Sam has done an AMAZING job of keeping any eye out for things for me and hunting things down.Also, they keep a nice selection of accessories on hand to keep your vinyl collection in pristine condition.I rarely (if ever) shop brick and mortar stores any more due to abysmal selection and even more abysmal service. This could not be further from the case here, so when I tell you this place is brilliant that is pretty much an iron clad guarantee.If you are lucky you will stop by when the store mascot can say hi. :)

Literally the best record store I've been to. You'll find a vast selection of new and used CDs and records, great personalities running the store, and better prices than any record store I've been to. Other items include record players, used movies and TV, and some random oddities for the entertainment lover. It also helps that, if it's not in the store, Sam can probably order what you're looking for. You'll have a hard time walking out empty handed.

Fantastic selection, friendly service, and an incredible atmosphere at this store. I visit here often, typically with no specific purchase in mind, and I always leave with something new! Sam is even awesome enough to order records for me when I can't find it in the store. One of the greatest record stores I've been to in my life and by far the best in Charleston, WV!!

A great store with a local feel. The proprietor is extraordinarily knowlegable about music and music formats and he is amicable and willing to help find something that he does not currently have. This store boasts have a great selection with a high turnoever, so visit often. As a compliment to all of the records the store has listening stations available for a customer to check the quality of the record. This is an extraordinary store. They have music available in any format you could hope for. They haven't had any velociraptor attacks in like a week. Ok like 5 hours. Ok one bit my arm off 10 minutes. But I still have one arm and with that arm I intend to buy a lot of cool records at this place. Unless you beat me to it. So get down there and check it out.
