You can tell the employees really love and care for all the animals in the store. The puppies look clean and healthy and all have papers, seems like a great place to get a new furry friend!

Do NOT support this business. There are other local reputable pet supply stores Pet Land is the only pet supply chain left that sells dogs-puppies they get from puppy mills. Their dogs are sickly and kept in tiny cages. If you must buy a dog, get one MUCH cheaper from a reputable breeder or, better yet, adopt from shelter. Stop this terrible abuse of animals.

If it was possible to write this place, zero stars, I would. The absolute worst place for a dog to end up just walk in and you will understand why oh and if you want to save one of the babies it is likely that you canāt because they are priced at $5000 ranging just under that and over. Every animal in there looks pitiful and ill. How could someone work at a place like this? How could someone create a place like this? How could someone own a place like this a complete disgraceā¦.. and if you think anything Iām saying isnāt acceptable or correct please if you can handle it walk in there yourself but brace yourself because I have seen under fed dogs literally eating their feces in the small cooped up cages that also to add look extremely uncomfortable.

DO NOT COME HERE. DONT EVEN REPLY SAYING, āYou have been misinformedā or āWe do more than any petstoreā because I was an employee there and I know what happened. This place should be SHUT DOWN. There puppies come from bad licensed breeders (Thatās saying if there puppyās did come from a breeder and not a mill) letās say petland purchases a puppy for $400, they upsell it for $8900. If you purchase a puppy withought the puppy for a lifetime program they will not care if something happens to your pet. I remember a lady purchased a 8 thousand dollar puppy and a month later it passed away from getting hit by a car. Management said, āSince you didnāt get the puppy for a lifetime program there is nothing we can do.ā Didnāt say Iām sorry for your loss or anything. And told me she shouldnāt have let her dog out on the road anyways. That means you will be spending years paying off a $8K puppy that you donāt even have and passed away tragically. They sell deathly sick puppies saying, āIf they have diarrhea for the first few days itās just nervesā when in reality it had a serious illness. They tell employees to put sick live animals in a bag into the freezer ALIVE because they canāt afford to take it to a vet or simply donāt care. That is the MAIN reason a lot of people quit. I remember a coworker told me management told him to put a bunny with a broken leg in a fish bag alive into the freezer and he seen fog in the bag from it breathing and it broke his heart. He said he would of gaven it a faster death then a slow cold one and it traumatized him. In that same fridge they put dog food, reptile food, with seriously Ill puppy poop in bags in there. From my knowledge 3 puppies have died there. They force there employees to sell puppies and if they donāt hit a quota they will get fired. There is so so so much more I could get into and I honestly donāt care if I get into trouble from speaking my mind. The conditions there are terrible. From my current knowledge it is under new management. Also I would like to say not all Petlands are the same. There is one in Ohio where they donāt sell puppies and there animal enclosures look humane and well taken care of and they even have a puppy day care. But there is a reason this petstore has 2 stars. I worked there thinking it would of been a fun experience! Didnāt know I would see so many animals die and mistreatment.

The people at Petland are amazing. They offer a nice friendly atmosphere. They go beyond their work requirements and help you with all your needs for your pet. Easy financing with approved credit. I bought my first pet at Petland. His name is Peewee he is a Yorkshire Terrier approximately 12 weeks old at time of purchase. He's 15 weeks old now and he's so amazing. I have a good friend for life.

Selling puppy mill puppies in tiny cages is bad enough. But when we tried to return a leaky water bottle we bought for our rats, with a receipt and in original packaging, they said they "don't take back used items." Folks, this was a WATER BOTTLE that held water ONCE and wasn't even touched by our rats. $25 wasted. We threw it out in the trash can right outside the door.

DO NOT BUY THESE ANIMALS THIS PLACE NEEDS SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!!!! these dogs are just novelties to this company. They will sale them to you sick and poorly bred. They also do not require the animals to be fixed which is leading to massive amounts of animals in local animal shelters! 10,000 on a male and female "pure bred"= 10 puppies sold for 1000 a piece = nut bags make their money back but once business let's up or the litters stop coming out correctly =now they are at the shelters. Get a shelter dog they are not only more grateful to have you but they are more likely to thrive and not have major health concerns

Ferrets, Rabbits, Guinea pigs, 10+ parakeets, Hamsters are ALL in cages to to small. Hamsters are crammed together so are the rest of the animals. Place is clean, Staff are nice and respectful. Although i do think the animals should be in bigger cages or separate, Not trying to tell them what to do, just my opinion. Although nice clean place.

Very very sweet! Amazing customer and puppy service. Loved how clean they were in between puppies and how sweet they were when we asked to check out other breeds. Theyāre very informative about puppy training and being very clear on answering questions. Love the experience and will 1000% come here again for another furry baby. So excited to take my new pup home!

I was drawn to an older pup placed in the front t display. He was so sweet, and as a means to save the poor dog I made an offer. Long story short, this poor puppy was SICK and took vet visits to get him back where he needed to be. They claim there are all these warranties etc to entice buyers. I know better. I paid the vet prices and we are lucky to have a very healthy and sweet Bernedoodle. For puppies who end up with owners who over pay and donāt provide the care I worry. I also worry for puppies whose buyers donāt have the patience to house train. We ended up with a puppy who seemed to have perpetual runny stool and only upon vet visits and lab testing did we figure out he was very, very sick. I have never sought Petland to reimburse me or the like. I only wanted this poor dog and for him to be healthy. He is doing very well and very healthy now. I am sad that Petland, per SOS filings, seems to be out of compliance.

They want too much for a puppy up front!! Then they expect you to purchase their nutritional supplements every week or month as part of buying a puppy. If my puppy needs a nutritional anything, I would get it from my Vet, not a pet store. I know the puppy may have AKC papers and all, but I am not paying more for a dog then I did my 3rd Vehicle making payments on it!!NO WAY!! I go to the Humane society and adopt my pets, because they need someone to love them. If I want a dog of a certain age or breed type, I can normally find one at the pound.I recently got a female dog I was looking for her type at the pound that is practically all Chihuahua. She looks identical to our male dog we already had for over a year......Their a match made in Heaven!! So I recommend check the Humane society first, then visit Petland. You will save yourself Thousands of Dollars!!! š¤š°šµš²šøš³

The pets here seem underfed. Most were eating stool from their cages in the viewing area. Pets are overpriced but the warranty seems promising, if the company holds true to their promise to replace a loves one if something happens that causes loss. However, my pet was registered with ACA and then registered in the AKC partner program vs solely AKC. My pet is purebred. However, the parents of my pet may not have been registered with AKC so he only qualifies to be considered in the partner program vs full AKC benefits as advertised.Check all certificates before purchase. The family tree in my pups package was created by the breeder, not ACA nor AKC.PETLAND does not seem to be a reputable vendor for a forever friend, but definitely is here for the profits at the expense of integrity with leading perceptions to entice a purchase.Be leery and congnizant of all paperwork and ask for validity of documents. The store also did not document that my pup was monitored for 7 days due to an unexpected infection. He was not displayed in the store. I saw him at request, but the care was not documented on original documents i presented to my vet.

If I could give it zero stars I would. This place is absolutely terrible. All of their small animals are crammed together in enclosures far too small, AND the enclosures are open for customers to interact with the pets and low enough for CHILDREN to handle the pets. And the store somehow thinks this is good for the animals??? Children should not be able to manhandle small pets in the store like that (as I saw one child doing with the hamsters). Additionally the Guinea pigs had obviously been fighting with each other and were absolutely terrified of anyone coming near them. The entire small pet section needs an overhaul. As a long time bun parent I would never in a million years purchase anything in that store for my rabbits or suggest anyone else do the same as their idea of rabbit care is verging on animal abuse. I was too distressed by everything to even consider getting near the puppies, I left the store near tears. Don't shop here there are plenty of other places you can spend your money.

We love petland !!!!! I make my husband take me there on our dates lol every chance I get I can not have any pets because of our job right now so I love going in and loving on the hamsters and the puppies I love that they allow us to interact with them and it is good for them to be socialized as for kids they should be supervised with the small animals but that's the parents job and I'm sure the staff watches too they r very good at their job and u can tell they care about the pets āŗļøāŗļøāŗļø

These people are awful. We bought our puppy Arfy from there and the next day we spent 9HOURS at the animal hospital and find out he had a parasite in his waste and severe pneumonia. Thank god heās getting better now and the vet told us he should be better in a week. But god knows how long heād been sick before we got him

Puppies sat directly on a grate in small cages. No water bowls, just water bottles and the large breed puppies were trying to drink water the whole time we were there but couldn't get enough at a time. Small children and high school boys were tormenting the rodents and birds that are left exposed in open cages for people to interact with. No staff present to ensure proper handling or hand washing between animals and cages. The store is clean and the puppies are cute but this place doesn't seem to care about the welfare and safety of their animals.

No reputable breeder would sell their dogs to a pet store. Itās a red flag that there are only puppies sold. AKC registration does not equal a well bred dog. These dogs are pure bred, not well bred. Do not support this company.

The staff knows nothing about animals or animal products. They have products I have never heard of before. Some top brand dog food but way over priced. I most likely will never go in there again. I did purchase a puppy and she's sweet, but going directly to a local breeder is your best bet. They treated me as if I know nothing about dogs. I not only know how to groom dogs but finished 12 champions. SMH

1/21/22I would like to compliment the staff at Petland,Charleston, WV. The "two" Aleeshas were both verypatient, knowledgeable and personable in dealingwith my indecisiveness about choosing my fur baby. All of the pets were precious and special in their ownway. I finally decided on a handsome French Bulldogthat I named Gus (Buster) š He captured my heartwith his soulful eyes & perky ears. He's only been inour family a short while, but he's already broughtsmiles, hugs and laughter..ā¦can't wait to see whateach new day brings. Again, thank you to bothAleshas for being so helpful! Petland is lucky tohave both of you!!š

On Wednesday, December 22nd my 8 year old son was bite in the face by one of their puppies. We asked for a copy of the dogs records and for an incident report to be completed. Neither of our requests were granted. We were told by an employee that the manager would call us so we gave her our information. We've made two attempts to make contact with someone regarding the incident and they have yet to return our calls. My son will be left with a permanent scar and possibly permanent discoloration because of the location of the bite. If need be we will be taking legal action.
