The sales person worked with us and was very patient and helpful. I have not had that level of customer services in a retail store in quite awhile. It was very refreshing and helpful in finding exactly what we were looking for.

IT'S OK BUT NOT LIKE IT USE TO BE!! THEY NEED TO MOVE OUT OF THAT DEAD TOWN CENTER TO CORRIDOR G. STRIP MALL THEY WOULD BE BETTER OFF! PERIOD!! AN WOULD HAVE WAY MORE BUSINESS!! I COUNTED 6 CUSTOMERS IN ALL THE OTHER MORNING!!THE TOWN CENTER IS DEAD!!

What is wrong with your website? I have 16 items in my cart for my grandtwins and a sport coat for my husband. It’s Sunday morning and I’m trying to order Christmas gifts. I’m actually shocked because I have high speed fiber optics. I did not experience this problem when I placed an order online at Nordstrom’s & Belks just now. I even downloaded your App - not any faster. It’s taking forever to just go from one page to the next after I have filtered. I want to shop your Clearance too, but I just don’t have time for this frustrating experience. Not a good first impression.

They have really great deals right now. Diamonds, clothing, appliances, shoes and boots. Staff are extremely helpful and super sweet. Jamie helped with with the jewelry she was great and we will be back soon for more. Lisa was very nice great personality and very friendly. Shannon or Janet I think her name is was lovely as well. Sorry if I got her name wrong. Great experience and coming back today.

I love JCPenney stores! Been shopping at them for over 60 years. Good quality and friendly, helpful sales associates. Big & Tall section and I always seem to find a great buy on the "End of the Season" closeout racks. I just bought a few nice shirts for just $4.00 each! My better half loves the woman's selections. I'd rather go to a JCPenney's store than any of the other big box store. Their prices always seem to be reasonable. If you haven't tried them in awhile, you.must try them again.

Quiet for this time of year, relaxing quiet music, low key laid back sales staff that do their jobs well, there when needed, and thankfully lack the pushiness of most sales staff. Clean and well maintained Store, very organized, directional markers are a clearly visible, social distancing in place, keeping everyone safe. Great shopping day all around and a nice surprise to normal hustle and bustle to this time if year !!

I had an online order delivered to the store ....thinking it might arrive quicker ...since I needed it for a special occasion for my granddaughter ..they said it would not be charged until shipped ....I sent an email to cancel the order since it would be arriving after the event ...I called the store today to have the order returned today ...after my THIRD call & 7 different people I was told I had to have the package returned by coming to the store in person ??? ....Also told if not picked up within time limit they would cancel the order but NOT credit my account ....WHY ??? This is a terrible policy if this is true ...I live an hour away but was willing to pick up if I could get it in time ....Should be able to have it returned by phone / get creditALSO ....apparently there is no option on the automated system to speak to anyone concerning an online order !!!???

11-20-2022 - I usually enjoy going here for their sales and clothing but this time their sales wasn't the greatest. Then when I went to check out I was charged wrong and didn't notice until I had drove all the way back home. The items that I was charged wrong where the sell items and they were discounted for the sale price. This is very very poor on them and this is not the only place I've caught doing this.

Seems to me like this place is pretty much keeping Towne center alive. It's JC Penney, and inside the Towne center mall. That means going downtown, parking, and honestly there's just not much to make it worthwhile? Anything I can get here, I can also get at southridge for half the time and a comparable price. Growing up the JC Penney Christmas catalog was one of the things I looked forward too all year! I fear if they don't find a way to adapt, they might get left behind!

They could use another person to help. Cashier is good. But not that good that they should travel over to dressing rooms. People need to take responsibility for putting their clothes back on the hanger to be put back. They have some clearance. Not bad. I got 2 tops. One Capri and a dress for $60. Their offerings credit cards with 20% off your purchase. Go shopping n support your local store.

Lots of sales. Plus it's only store around that really has a decent Big & Tall section. As a big/tall guy it is hard to find clothes in most stores so end up doing a lot of shopping online. But it's nice to have a place you can go and try things on first. One if the problems with shopping online is you don't know how they will fit until you already got them, then it's a pain to go through the process of returning if you don't like it.

I had a return and didn't have the receipt. The sales person was very helpful finding my order. I left the store without my arm brace after trying clothes on. My son went back for it and she helped him find it.

Except for the prices, 10-12 yrs ago shopping at JCP wasn't much different from shopping at KMart. or some other type discount store like Big Lots or Gabriel Brothers. There were lots & lots of clothes but they were so squashed & jammed onto the racks that you couldn't really see them. IF you managed to wiggle an item out of the mess to look at it, then you'd have to somehow manage to jam it back onto the rack. Add to that the hassle of getting dressed, finding/paying parking (or a babysitter) , trying to even find a disgruntled (usual surly) store employee, & the general disarray & grubbiness of the store, etc...even shopping at Goodwill was a step up. Shopping at JCP took patience, endurance, determination (or desperation) & real physical strength. It simply wasn't worth it especially since online shopping was so easy, available, & could be done in your pajamas, while dinner cooked, the kids slept, or you did a facial mask treatment!However...JCP has apparently listened & paid attention to feedback from their customers regarding how to improve the in-store shopping experience and, as a result JCP's market share & bottom line, at their brick & mortar stores.Quite a few changes have been made to the store's physical appearance including wider aisles, better lighting, & new, sleeker display fixtures. The merchandise has also become more streamlined and the employees seem to have a better sense of the fact that good customer service also includes a more positive attitude from them. Every employee I came in contact with during my most recent visit, was upbeat & very pleasant, & seemed to be honestly happy to help me find things. Don't get me wrong, JCP is still basically a self-serve store just like Kohls, Macy's, & most other mid-level retail stores are these days. But, unlike those other stores, it was very easy to atleast FIND a clerk who was happy to help.In addition to all these pluses, I've found that shopping JCP online couldn't be any easier. Items online are usually discounted & there are periodic mark downs & sales for additional percentages off. Your order can be shipped to your home for the usual shipping charges (or free if qualified by minimum purchase) or to the store where you can pick it up free of charge. If your items don't fit or won't work for what you intended, then all you do is return them back to the nearest JCP store for a refund or exchange. That's even less hassle than returning things to Amazon!Anyway, the point of all this info is to let other shoppers know about the changes JCP has made to stay current. It's definitely not your mother's or grandmother's store &even though the Charleston Town Center Mall is struggling JCP does have alot to offer these days. If you're like me & simply hate driving out to the Corridor shopping areas, save yourself the time, trouble, & high gas costs...shop JCP @ the Town Center Mall instead.

I enjoy shopping at Jcpenney every time I'm there. Like the lay out of the departs, makes shopping easy. Employees are always friendly and helpful. Prices are amazing. Love the spring/summer clothing line. Please don't close

Decent merchandise at designer wannabe prices.Just passed through the store. Haven't bought anything there fir years.However, if you are regularly a size 22 in womens clothes, I think it translates to about an 8 in house brands...

I went to Sephora and got marginally good help from a woman with horrible breath. I originally wanted a makeover but how could I stand for someone with that breath to give me a makeover? I really could’ve used a lot more help. She asked me if I wanted a JCPenney credit card twice. The first time she asked me I told her I already had one, and then a few minutes later she asked me again. I didn’t buy anything because I don’t understand those products and I’m sure not many people do. On the way out a woman greeted me and I said hello back to her then she asked me if I wanted to apply for a JCPenney credit card. I was on my way out the door it was so ridiculous. I really lost my faith in humanity a little bit that day. Good riddance JCPenney.

It was meh department store. Workers didn't seem to enthusiastic to help me find items I was looking for. If it wasn't for the fact I was in drastic need for a pair of shoes and they were the only store really with a decent selection I would have left with nothing.
