Stayed here over the weekend. Boys state tournament and St. Paddy’s weekend led to huge crowds and a packed hotel, but the staff was fantastic. Every staff member I spoke to was kind, understanding, and helpful. They managed the chaos to the best of their ability. We ended up with a sick kiddo and canceled plans, and the kindness of some of the staff helped make what could have been a hard day, a positive experience over all. It was so appreciated, and I recommend staying here just for the staff experience alone. The rooms could use a little updating, but they were clean and comfortable with plenty of space. Lobby is beautiful. Location is great.

Some pluses:The staff were friendly and courteous. The central atrium is an impressive sight. The suite I had was generally clean and comfortable.Breakfast (especially my omelette) was tasty with a good variety on offer. Some less favorable items:The itemized bill shows I was charged both $15.00 and $16.20 for one night of parking. I do expect to get a refund - after I call. Granted this a small inconvenience, but still...Looking for a room service menu, the in-room QR code gave a link that led to a totally useless web page. There was no regular coffee available among the K-cups in my room (2 decaf, 2 green tea 4 hot chocolate). Upon asking at the desk, they had none right there to give me but I was assured some would be brought up to the room. Come morning and still no regular coffee. This actually turned out to be to my advantage - the place where water goes in the machine was filthy, including some hair.I will not recommend this hotel to any friends.

Rooms are dated and musty smelling. Flies were coming out of the bathroom drains. Desk attendants were okay, manager refused to meet with me, housekeeping seemed to care less.Update: Manager said he was in a meeting earlier, but still was quick to walk away from me instead of talk. Dale did he personally inspected the next room. We shall see.New room is cleaner and smells better. Shouldn’t have to ask to have a decently cleaned room when checking into the hotel.

Lovely lobby! Nice suites! Even though the lobby echoes the rooms are quiet. Being downtown parking is challenging. But the reserved spaces in the lot behind work fine. Construction made entering and exiting a little challenging. But we had a lovely weekend.Rooms: Spacious with dining/kitchette area and a living room, bedroom and bathroom. More like a mini apartment.Food & drinks: There's a bar on site. Breakfast is delightful. Much better than some Continental breakfast. There's an omelette bar and a breakfast bar. I had half a grapefruit, a banana, steel cut oats with all the fixings, Some eggs, and country fried potatoes. There's also available juice, milk, cereal, etc.

I’m hard of hearing and the hotel is pretty loud. The refrigerator was old and sounded horrible (unplugged it eventually), mold on caulking, shower door didn’t close, water pressure is not what you would expect from a city and breakfast was garbage. Their idea of yogurt and fruit was sugary yogurt and grapefruit. The bed was old and worn and made crazy noises just moving around and I’m 170lb. Charleston needs a nice hotel and this is a Hampton in 2 star at best. Maintenance came in to try and fix shower door(failed) and in the process got the floor wet in the room so now it’s shoes only or I’m getting my socks wet. 🤦‍♂️I am checking out and leaving a day early. My back can’t handle the horrible bed. One thing I have noticed, this hotel’s staff seem super focused on themselves and not the guest. I hope they build a Hilton in Charleston..They also use cheap ingredients here. They don’t keep half and half for your coffee making you use the cheap stuff in the small container and the coffee they use is Folgers.. just saying, more like a motel 6 than a embassy suites.

This hotel is so gross. You can tell the rooms have been updated-ish but there’s no point in updating if it’s not clean. Dirt on beds, toothpaste on mirror in bathroom, no soap bars, just shared shampoo and conditioner mounted on the shower wall and one was broken off, bathtub has stains, door doesn’t latch properly, mold coming out of the bathroom faucet. The beds are horribly uncomfortable and squeak everytime you move. Just praying I don’t go home with bugs. I do not recommend staying here. The ONLY perk is the breakfast.Safety: My door didn’t even latch properly.

Our room wasn’t ready until 5 pm, check in is supposed to be at four. We sat in the lobby for over an hour waiting. Front desk staff was rude about the situation when asked if I could get an estimated wait time. I was told “I have no clue, maybe 45 minutes. I have no control over how fast or slow housekeeping works!”Our room was dirty, not sure if housekeeping had done anything other than change bedding and leave fresh towels. The carpet was stained and the curtains were filthy!I requested a late checkout, and once again was rudely spoken to and told no. The hotel manager said he had over 200 people checking out, so no late checkouts. I get it, I’m not an unreasonable person, I just feel the staff could’ve been a little nicer and more approachable. The price of the room did not reflect the quality of my stay.

Just stopped for the night on our way traveling to Florida. They had a room for us. Staff was so helpful and went above and beyond in helping us with parking, directions and info. The rooms were excellent. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. No weird smells , appropriate temperature and very clean. Coffee and breakfast in the morning was delicious with made to order omelets. It was complimentary. Beautiful hotel and the price was appropriate. Room was extremely quiet.

Nice place. Some wear and tear, so a little upkeep may be in order, but overall it's clean, housekeeping staff is on point and the breakfast is excellent. Rooms are comfortable and the water is hot. Gym is reasonably well equipped. Even the coffee is pretty decent. Close to the better restaurants in Charleston. Would definitely stay here again when in town.

The staff is amazing! The hotel was packed due to holiday weekend and ball tournament. They were smiling, polite and tried their hardest to accommodate everyone. I would highly recommend this hotel.Rooms: Comfortable and high quality

Bathroom was dirty. Hair on the toilet. Tub dirty . No shampoo or conditioner in the dispenser. I expected better from the Embassy. It felt like Super 8 flipped outside in. The lobby was loud with kids. So if you have pets and kids, this zoo is the place to be. I know next time to stay at the Hampton. I stay in many hotels due to business. So I know good hotels. This is not one of them. Whoever cleaned my room needs to be reprimanded. Still waiting on housekeeping to bring my shampoo and conditioner. It almost midnight.Update: I called the front desk to ask about my shampoo and conditioner, they put me on hold. I waited. I hung up. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I gave them a chance to redeem themselves and they failed.

We attended a conference at the hotel. We stayed in room 715.We want to thank 4 staff members that really stood out in providing excellent service during our stay.Ann at the front desk checked us in and assisted us throughout our stay.Doug and Brian in food services were exceptionally friendly and accommodating in their service, and lastly Toni in maintenance, who quickly responded to our non-working room door that sranded us in the hallway on a Saturday night.Thank you.

We’ve stayed here 3 times now, always a great stay for the fam. Good location for a walk to food, breakfast is good and the free drinks in the evening are a nice touch.Ps, the pool is small and usually overrun with kids, which is fine for us, but if you’re an adult looking for a swim, probably not a great choice

Not happy at all. Check in was to be a 4pm we couldn’t get our room till after 7pm.No stairs from first floor to our room unless an employee opens an outside door. ( one elevator was broke and the line for the elevators that were working was so long.)Fell like they were understaffed and overbooked.Room was not completely clean. Inside cabinets at sink very dirty.I don’t believe I will stay at another Hilton innEspecially an Embassy suites.Should have taken photos but didn’t think about it at the time.Rooms: Not so clean and the fold out was worn outSafety: No stairs open to the public from lobby to other floorsWhen elevators are overflowing and the wait time is overwhelming. I prefer stairs.

The location was great, and the room (corner suite) was plenty big enough but those were the only pros. The room was not very clean, dirt, dust, etc. in the corners and under the sink in the bathroom. Plus, we booked a room that sleeps 6 for the 5 of us and it had a huge space for a table that they filled with a tiny table for 2 with 3 chairs. Very odd. But the worst was the hotel pool. My kids were really looking forward to swimming, so we went to the pool on our 1st night there. Saying it was gross, would be an understatement. There were so many chemicals in it you couldn't see your hand beneath the surface of the water and there were clumps of HAIR all over the place! In the water and all around the drains.

We attended the annual YWCA’s Women of Achievement Award Ceremony today! Embassy was absolutely amazing with this event!! The Atrium is very palatial but yet cozy. Nice office areas with technology and meeting nooks. A very charming atmosphere while being professional. The cuisine for our luncheon was so healthy and delicious! I believe there were close to 400 if not more in attendance. We had a pre placed Mediterranean dish with a platter of plentiful seasoned chicken breast! Pita Chips and desserts with donut holes and baklava! Lemonade and water ready to go! Our server Ashley was all over coffee service and replenishing our drinks. All the staff members were very attention to detail and accommodating. Spacious area and wonderful acoustics. Near the interstate, shopping and eateries. Strongly recommend for events! Very safe and newly renovated!Rooms: Super comfy beds and super immaculate!Nearby activities: Theatre. Shopping. Dining. Concerts. Special Events. Court house to get married! Biking trails. Hiking in south hills. Sight seeing. Antiques.Safety: Super Weill lit and security on staff.Walkability: Walk to the Town Center Mall to shop and dine. The concert event Coliseum. Downtown shopping and movie theatre. Banks and Churches. Shuttle as well.Food & drinks: Tasty snacks and drinks! Wonderful event cuisine. Doesn’t taste like hotel cuisine. Very delicious and fresh!Noteworthy details: Decor is very upscale and modern. Lots of natural sunlight and close to all things.

Came for a dance competition. Check in was at 4. I sat in the lobby with my 3 kids and did not get a room until after 7pm.Was exhausted so I ordered room service food was cold. Ordered their “strawberry cheesecake” picture posted of the 8 dollar strawberry cheesecake it was a terrible stay will not be coming back.Food & drinks: I would not recommend room service they didn’t have any of the drinks that were ordered and food was cold.

We arrived around 5pm, about a hour after the room was available. There were a out 40 people with luggage waiting. We asked why we didn't have our digital key and the service desk was rude to tell us that like the other 40 people, our room wasn't ready. We had to change and freshen up in the lobby restroom for the concert were were attending. At 6:30, we got a text that our room was ready, we were at the concert. After the show, we headed back and the elevator smelled like 100 rotten corpses that had all died from farting too much. It was enough to gag a maggot. Im sure with better management, it could be nice, but this was a waste of money!

This is one of the worst stays I’ve ever experienced. At 6pm, the reserved room was not ready, while waiting we noticed they let people off the streets roam the hotel lobby, including the cocktail hour. They have a security guard who sat in his corner while drunkards roamed the hallways banging on doors. I was awakened at 4am by an inebriated dude and the next morning learned that my experience was not the exception in that scads of guests were disturbed by room parties and drunkards. The smell of pot could be found all through the lobby, the $15 parking garage and the entire perimeter of this dump of a hotel. If you value your safety and that of your family, DO NOT STAY HERE.

We had a lovely stay at Embassy Suites during our trip to Charleston. The rooms are clean and bright, the staff is incredibly helpful, and the hotel is absolutely beautiful. It's centrally located, which makes it very easy to visit all of the great shops and restaurants downtown. If you're visiting the area, we definitely recommend staying here!

Most awesome embassy suite we have stayed at. Breakfast was awesome. The employees that checked us in were awesome. The rooms were very clean and well taken care of. The only problem we had was during breakfast one of the employees was so eager to clean up that she was trying to take the plates we were still eating. She actually grabbed a plate off of the gentleman’s table in front of us. She kept looking at us and giving us dirty looks because we were still down there when they technically closed the breakfast area. We were just trying to sit down there instead of staying in our room for a little bit and finish up our drinks.Food & drinks: Awesome food. You can have your omelet customized to your specifications.

My stay at the embassy suites was among the worst experiences I’ve had. I love the presentation of the hotel it’s quite beautiful when you walk in, but everything else was awful. The staff were very unfriendly and unprofessional. There was only one young lady that was nice and presenting. Everyone else my family encountered was cold and not helpful. We walked into someone else’s room when we first got there so they gave us another one which I understand but that was just the first of it. There was no toilet paper in the room and there was still a sheet stuck to the pullout couch like they hadn’t checked it. The beds were poorly made and not comfortable. Just overall not really a great room. We went to the staff with our concerns and were met with discontent and frustration. They were completely unhelpful and honestly very rude to me and my family. They only offered to comp the $15 parking fee like that was enough for what we had just been through. I tried to get ahold of the managers for an ENTIRE week with no one returning my calls and no one answering them. The only lady on the phone told me that he comes in whenever he wants and leave whenever he wants. So I had to contact corporate and at the point to get a full refund. Overall the worst stay at a hotel I’ve ever had.
