Drug Emporium used to be way overpriced, but I recently had to stop in there for a friend and have been back several times since a d find that their prices for the same or better quality items is less than most big retailers. Plus they have all yhe extras for sale now too. Great place. I'm glad I had to go in that time.

Drug Emporium has a Pharmacy however you find about anything except frozen foods other than that ,you need it ,they have it.They have Wvu items and apparel,beers wine,men,women’s clothes, socks, shoes , a health section, jewelry, personal hygiene items, makeup,snacks, cheeses, and many other products.The sales they have here are amazing i bought 5 pair of socks for .70 cents each.So if your into great sales this store is the place for you.

The store is awesome the pharmacy not so much I've had to transfer all my meds because I get stonewalled, judged and literally denied because they think it's there job to police the medication, I get it there's people who abuse there medication but not all of us do .. it's on the Dr who wrote it... not you, your job is to fill it with a smile nothin more nothin less, we have a police force we have access to call someone and be like yo we have a concern if it's bothering you so bad, it's very unprofessional for you to act like your in a position of power.

I stopped here while looking to pickup a few toiletries after driving around lost looking for a Dollar General(yes I actually could NOT find a Dollar General, which seemingly multiply like rabbits🐇)and I am glad I did...turns out it's a huge store with one of the best craft&domestic beer selections outside of a liquor store I've ever seen, and they have a growler counter with Happy Hour pricing AND they sell ice cream at the same counter🍺🍦 That's in addition to all kinds of random stuff in the store like local food, clothing, all kinds of household items, and anything else a normal drug store would have(as several other reviewers have pointed out there IS a pharmacy in there somewhere💊). If that wasn't enough there is also a Healthy Life Market with all types of health&organic food attached to it that you can walk into thru the main store. And to top it all off the employees were very friendly and helpful. I'm not a West Virginia native so I had never heard of either of these stores but from now on whenever I'm in Charleston this will be one of my regular stops😊👍🏾

One of my favorite stores to go to on the west side to shop. They have a great selection of woman's clothing and not to mention the makeup section an all the other miscellaneous products they sell. I'm sure to say you wouldn't be disappointed walking out.

They always have so many things to offer. This has been my pharmacy since I was little and they have been the same consistent service and experience. I love looking at the WVU and Marshall clothing and all the jewelry and nic nacs just all around a great store and team of folks.

Healthy life market is a god send and I would recommend shopping here often. The best of the best and if you care about your body and health then you should care about the healthy life market. Do yourself and your family a favor and visit.

This is usually our go-to store for vitamins & mineral supplements because of the Healthy Life Market department which is superior to what's offered elsewhere. There's a good selection of birthday & holiday cards, cosmetics & beauty items, various holiday knickknacks,decorations, & silk flowers, gift items, even some clothing selections including WV/WVU & Marshall U sports wear. There is a good selection of wines & beers and there is a tasting counter(?). Both Drug Emporium locations are usually easy to get in & out of, both in the store & out in the parking lot, & their locations are fairly convenient.

My wife and I always head in to Drug Emporium to see the craft beer selection on the shelves and on tap. Every time the staff is extremely nice, gives you that West Virginia family feel. We sampled a couple beers (if I’m not mistaken you can sample 3-4 choices per day). Prices are reasonable and we always find something in there we haven’t seen before. Good place to find a unique style for your WV or Marshall clothes.

A lot has changed for the drug emporium in West Virginia. It's not like the stores that were used to in Texas. But they still have a lot to offer. Just not what I was expecting. The health foods and such is mostly what I'm interested in

Very easy & friendly place to deal with! Their pharmacy is top notch & all their employees are very friendly & helpful! Been going to this pharmacy for over 10 years now & never had a single problem with any of their services! The pharmacy section is pretty fast on most days & they've got a huge selection of different West Virginia University & Marshall's University clothes & other knick knacks! Plus they carry huge selection of carhardt clothes, along with Gilden clothes for very fair prices for the quality brands they carry! Even carries shoes from brands like Nike, Sketchers, & Adidas for very reasonable prices! Definitely worth stopping by!

I WISH I could could add more stars. I called this place to see if they carried a certain product. For some reason, when you call the store there is no pharmacy ext. You are directed to the front of the store. I asked, very politely, to be directed to the pharmacy. This lady proceeded to tell ask me what it was I was looking for. What? 😐 Then, I explained to her that it was a question for a pharmacist and FINALLY I was directed but then put on hold for 10 MINUTES and I kid you not the same woman picked the phone back up.She wanted me back on hold and I could not. As far as the store, they have an awesome selection of knick knacks, like a super drug store. However, their prices are on the little high side. Some of the things are worth the price.

I've been using Drug Emporium for the last 5 years as my primary pharmacy and also my go to for beers, health food (Healthy Life Market), and sometimes gourmet cheeses. I've always found the quality and selection of the items to be top-notch, the staff to be friendly and helpful, and the premises to be clean and presentable. They now also sell growlers and fill them with awesome local beer. I recommend this pharmacy highly and always enjoy a visit.

This was a good place they got a lot of things that you need and probably a lot of things that you don't need but the employees and the pharmacist people are really great they are but the only reason why I gave them three stars is because their prices are too high and I'm sorry about that but it is what it is

This drug store chain helps perpetuate negative stereotypes about West Virginians. The rest of the country is of the opinion that people from the Mountain State are a bunch a backward hicks. I'll tell you why.A couple of years ago, I was visiting a relative in the Charleston area and decided to check out the stores in the area. I'd remembered the Drug Emporium from an earlier stay(15 years before)& decided to check it out. I went in & looked at all of their products and compared them to the prices of those sold in other drug stores & then left. I walked over to the Sally's Beauty Supply next door. As I was walking down the hair dye aisle, a man flashing a badge blocked my path & told me that he was a security guard from the Drug Emporium. He added that an employee there told him that they'd seen me stealing a bottle of wine. I told him that I would consent to a search in the Drug Emporium & not in any other place. Mind you, I know what it's like to have a fake badge pulled on me by thieves & the like. As we proceeded to the Drug Emporium entrance, this security, an off duty Charleston police sergeant named Eggleston who had been hired as a security guard, mentioned that we could go into another store which was between Sally's Beauty Supply & the Drug Emporium entrance. This other store entrance was actually a part of the Drug Emporium store but didn't appear so. It had a different store name above it. It had something to do with the Drug Emporium's pharmacy. If you don't shop there, you're not going to know that while approaching the store.I told this off duty sergeant by the name of Eggleston that the main entrance was the one we had agreed on. That set him off. He then walked up to the sliding exit door of the store and threw it open and demanded very angrily that I walk in. I complied and proceeded into the store. Once I did that, he started angrily yelling that I come back into the vestibule and be searched there. I came back into the vestibule. He then, fuming, told me that he could be nice or that he could be mean. Then he demanded to look into my purse which was where one the store employees said they had actually seen me put a bottle of wine. I opened it up & showed him the contents of my bag. There was no wine bottle in it. There were only keys and some cash there. He then got this look on his face, almost as if he was horribly & painfully constipated, and nodded. The search was over.After being dragged out of the other store so rudely by this self righteous yokel who was so certain I'd stolen something, I asked to speak with the manager. He informed me that he didn't answer to the store's manager but would go and get her anyway. This 400 pound, waddling, blonde, mountain mama came out and in her heavily accented, Appalachian drawl heard my complaint and told me that as a member of the Charleston Police Department, he was within his rights to stop anyone. As she was saying this he started vigorously nodding with a self righteous, ear to ear smile on his face. Once she said, she turned away and waddled her big ass bag to where ever.At that point, I realized that the Drug Emporium wasn't going to do anything about the extremely rude treatment I had been subjected to in their store, so I asked Eggleston for his badge number. He refused to give it to me and told me that I had his name and that he was a sergeant & that was all I needed to know. He then told me to "mozy" on down the street and never come back into the store.I have deep roots in the state. I come from a long line of coal miners and my ancestors were there before 1863. You could say I am a West Virginian even though I wasn't born & raised there. That said; W.Va, and the Drug Emporium is extremely West Virginian, could improve its image by losing its self righteous, good old boy character. When I was in that store, there were all of these souvenirs and sweatshirts with pictures of the shape of the state on them & pictures of cardinals. The store represents W.Va. Improve the store & the state's image by employing respectful employees Drug Emporium.
