I do love Books A Million for the great selection of books they have. I went this evening to purchase multiple books and when I got to the register the cashier informed me that they no longer had bags but they did have bags you can purchase lolol. Companies amaze me how they show gratitude towards customers who keep them in business. Is it too much to provide bags to your customers? Should customers bring grocery bags when buying multiple book at Books A Million? The cashiers were really nice and the store was nice with a nice layout.. No complaint there but I find it sad that customers have to buy bags. Forcing customers to buy bags is a strange way of saying Thank you for you patronage. I know various companies are using these strategies to increase revenue but it makes customers not want to buy multiple books which hurts the company.

I have always loved books a million they really have great choices in books I don't go there that often bc I read on my Kindle but if I want to touch a book I go there and they have great prizes

Visited here a the other day with a friend of mine ,"Books-A-Million" ,Each time I tried to distract myself and move up the isle I seen something else I had to pick up . Anything that's printed on something , tee-shirts , playing cards ,(Any Playing Card , for learning/educational, recipes , ( I'm gonna say 50/60) different tarot decks /all sizes too! Games for any age and all topics.

This is a great place not only do they have a wide variety of all books. They have a great and helpful staff. Yogurt mountain is definitely a draw. Great gift ideas. All around just a great time. Love spending time with my kids here

Worst Books-a-Miillion experience ever. The Charleston store has a new sales clerk who has waited on me the last 3 times I've been in the store. The first time this clerk waited on me, there was no problem with my purchase. On my next visit a week later, the same clerk falsely claimed my discount card was expired even though I had renewed my discount membership this past March. He didn't seem to care to check on it for me, and I thought he was trying to trick me into paying a second time for a membership renewal. The jerk finally asked me for my telephone number and grudgingly gave me the discount on my purchase. Today, the same sales clerk waited on me again and said my card was expired and that my name wasn't in the system. At that point, I knew the guy was playing me and told him off using colorful language, to which he responded in kind. He didn't even try to figure out what was going on and even stated he wasn't paid enough to care. Needless to say, I returned my intended purchase and left the store. Whoever this new clerk is, he needs to go. He doesn't care about his job or the customers. He wouldn't give his name but he is young, heavy set, has long curly hair, wears glasses and has an attitude.

There are a sad few bookstores in WV, but this is a good one. Staff has always gone out of their way to help even when not asked.

My partner and I went in to buy some books. We had chosen books that were buy 2 get 1 free. We had done the math, and it was supposed to be under $50. It rang up for $85.00. We were understandably confused, and we decided to re do the math. Without the deal, it was $88.00. With the cheapest book taken off, it was $75.00. With the second one, since we were getting two deals, it was $64.00. The lady had told us with an attitude, "Remember, there is a 7% tax." I shrugged it off and then calculated the 7% tax. Even with a 7% tax, it was not $85.00. It should have been no more than $69.48. We then decided we were going to roll with it and take books off. We then went to another cashier, and he was scanning the books. It rang up to $67.00!! We were even more confused because even without the deal, it was only $45.00. We had done the math with a calculator. He then told my partner that it was the wrong book. He had to get the $16.00 version to get the deal. So he did that, and then it rang back up to $74.00. This book store is an absolute scam, and I had left without buying anything today because it was absolutely unnecessary.

A friend of mine and I went to this location last weekend. Once we got our items and proceeded to checkout I was helped by a man with long curly hair who was very rude the entire interaction as I had typed in my pin on the payment pad and it had “shut the entire system down.” As I moved to another register my friend had come to his register to check out and was greeted with. “Is there a problem?” And that someone else would help us. The women who checked us out was a delight and saved the entire experience. The employees attitude ruined my experience and made me feel ignorant, alone with my friend. Thank you to the very polite woman who tended to us, as her kid was made up for another’s disheartening treatment.

It's like Barns N Noble. Books and more. My kids like the toys and entertainment sections. Lots of pop culture nick-nacks. I found some good deals on books. They have a rewards program, too.

It's alright. Nothin special. They can't get just any book. The time I visited before last,I had ordered a book about pot belly pigs. Well the book I got was far from being about pigs or any animal for that matter.

If you love books, this is your new home. Walking in the door, I could smell the books. You won't get that online.They have a great selection of cards as well as sundry interesting things.

Today, I bought some books and the Cashier, Adam, was incredibly rude. I’m not sure what kind of training is in place or if you have any kind of standards/practices but he was the least friendly of all the staff I’ve ever encountered there. Could’ve been having a poor day, but I hope that his manager will have a discussion with him on his behavior towards customers. When we asked him where a section was he literally pointed and said “there.” Didn’t even take the time to show. Otherwise they have a wonderful selection, and I feel I would be more inclined to buying more if the staff was a bit more helpful and kind.

A great large selection of books and super friendly staff. I stopped here several times a year when I was local. I always found something good to read and a very large selection to find something for everyone. The last time I visited they had added movies which was an excellent add to the store!!

This place is always clean and stocked great. Staff friendly and helpful. Alot of cool little items at the register some things can be a bit pricey and I can find slightly cheaper on Amazon but I want these guys to stick around so I'm always happy to support them!! And they are so versatile.

This place was absolutely amazing. When I took my daughter to look for some manga, which she found plus more, I thought it would be simply all books and maybe magazines, I was so wrong. The selection of things here was something else, we spent 2 hours and still didn't really see everything. We got several different English manga, board games, and some really great art works. I am going back to do some Christmas shopping here. I was really surprised and the prices weren't to expensive either. So if you have time its really interesting place to shop. I would definitely recommend.

Took a walk in here while waiting for dinner. The store was nice and clean, and the displays were well-organized. It was easy to find the magazine I was looking for, and plenty of books for the kids. We even picked up a few games to play. The cashier was quick , friendly, and knowledgeable.

Love this store for new and used books. They have so many books and so much other merch for all ages. Books are reasonably priced and as a varocious reader I'm sure glad of that. Staff is helpful and friendly. Store is clean and just pleasant. I could stay there for hours, leaving broke though lol because there's just so many books and awesome things to buy.Highly recommend. We drive quite a ways to shop at this store although we have one very close to us. It's not awesome nor sells used books like this one does.

Huge selection of books on just about any subject you can come up with. They also have a variety of other items like vinyl records, pop culture toys and seasonal products as well. It's a big bookstore, but it's very relaxed. You can stroll through and take your time browsing for something new or head right to the section for a specific book you're looking for. Either way, the staff were very friendly and eager to help. I think it's a great place to purchase books and other items in person as opposed to online.

I can get lost in so many sections within the stone, reading so many appealing titles and seeing all the cover art. History, religion, entertainment, education..a smorgasbord for an avid reader. I look more than I buy, however, because of the ability to pay less online and/or used. Regardless, Yogurt Mountain is an added bonus, and it endures my daughter always wants to tag along and be swept up in her own genres. Staff aren't overbearing and there is relaxed seating in the back for quiet reading. Overall a very nice location.
