Came here months back and really neat hobby store. I do feel the owner or whomever is responding to reviews here should handle the negative reviews in a much better way though. I've managed and worked in retail a good chunk of my life and completely understand how frustrating it can be to deal with negative and sometimes unfairly incorrect or rude reviews but feel like you got to handle it better than saying someone can't afford something, or calling them a putz or anything like that is inappropriate.Having said that I'll certainly stop by when I'm in town again and check it out as they do have some awesome stuff but just hope they handle issues like that better in the future because it's not a good look to be honest

Amazing variety of hobby stuff. RC, models, puzzles, board games, trains, planes, you name it. I'm sure I've missed 27 other hobby items in there. People were friendly and helpful.

Great little hobby shop with friendly service! Nice selection of puzzles, RC vehicles and model kits and paint. If you're a dog lover you must stop in just to meet Tegan 😊

This is a great Hobby Shop for all your modeling/RC needs, and well stocked. They also have a wide variety of games, and things that are children oriented. The owners are very friendly, and very helpful. If you haven't been here, you must stop by.

If you're into R/C toys and models this is the place for you! I could spend hours in this place! The owners are very nice people and very accommodating. I needed my R/C car fixed, brought it to them and they sent it to the manufacture. Got it back 2 weeks later as good as new and at no charge! I'm going to be buying another R/C toy from them again soon. Also, see "Tegan" she runs the place! Ha! Ha!

I've shopped here numerous times as it's the closest hobby store to me. But today I double check the hours, they are open, so I drive down to the shop only to find it closed. Lights off but an "open" sign hanging on the door. Disappointing. Probably easier to just get stuff online going forward.

I like this store a lot. You are greeted or ignored as you prefer by a gentle giant of a dog. You can listen to town gossip as you browse the many aisles packed into this store.There is a wide variety of games and hobby equipment, with items suitable for all ages. I didn't know there were such expansions of Catan! I didn't know you could buy a professional quality disc golf disc for almost 20 dollars.We came for a kite - and there were many wonderful styles and types to choose from - and left with a puzzle game for teaching anatomy that my almost 5 yr old granddaughter wanted (along with many other things!) We are looking forward to going back.

This hobby shop is great, they sell all hobbies, not just RC stuff. The owners are very nice and have gone above and beyond to make sure my RC needs have been met. I bought a brand new RC and the body came with a dent, I called the hobby shop and within minutes they were on the phone with Traxxas customer service trying to solve my issue. And they solved it! Traxxas shipped me out a brand new body. The owners also are available by email and text which is super easy if you have any questions, even after hours. And last but not least this hobby shop had a few RC’s I wanted to buy when everywhere else was sold out. I was very happy to find this store and now I consider it one of my go to hobby shops.

Great little store, a true hobbyists place! The owner was incredibly nice, other customers friendly and truly enthusiasts which you dont find in the big box hobby stores. If you have a young one that you want to get started in the modeling, rc world, this is the place to do it!!!! As an adult walking in there, i felt like a kid again.

The very knowledgeable gentleman at the desk didn't hesitate to answer all of my questions about an rc car for my son even though he could tell I wasn't prepared to buy anything. He was very helpful and now I have a much better idea of what to look for. I will definitely buy from here instead of online once my son and I do a little more research and pick out the model he wants. Their prices are the same or better than anywhere online and they can answer questions if you're a noob like us.

Super fun store that seems to have everything! I was looking for paints and found what I needed bit it seemed very well stocked with lots of different and current trends including a 3D printer. Absolutely fascinating. The owners were friendly and answered all my questions about things I was curious about and the added bonus was the store mascot, their pet dog who is also super friendly and helpful! Definitely why we shop local around here whenever possible. You don't get this kind of service elsewhere. Price was great.

I love The Hobbies Shop. They have a great selection, decent prices and the owners are very informative and helpful. The store looks small but they use every bit of space. They're also willing to get anything you need and are always willing to make recommendations. Let's not forget they're awesome dog! Downtown Charles Town needed this - glad they're here!

My girlfriend went into this store looking for a specific item. After the store informed her that they didn't have that item in stock, they sold her another one, the only one they had in stock. I received the gift for Christmas and was very thankful, however after discussing with my girlfriend, she recommended I get the exact model I wanted since it was an expensive purchase. She recommended I call the owner and ask for an exchange or store credit to upgrade. I called the owner and asked if I could bring the unopened item back in order to upgrade to another item that was actually more expensive. Owner stated they DO NOT do any sort of return or offer store credit. I again stated I wanted to spend more money at his store but he held to his policy.Their sales practice from the beginning was unprofessional and reflects how poorly stocked his store is. It is customer service like this that will drive him out of business and drive customers to Amazon or other hobby stores. Save yourself the hassle and travel the short distance to better stocked and more professional establishments.Good news is, another store helped me out. I got the product I wanted and they now have a new loyal customer.A final thought, read the post below and ask yourself if you want to deal with a business of this caliber.

So much to choose from. My kids always have to pick something out. The legos inventory is awesome. Some from my favorite video game, overwatch. Outdoor activities to keep the kids entertained through quarantine and this long summer. Great place. Check it out even to look at all the cool models.

On average, I have purchased one plastic model a month from this store for the last 20 months. For beginners, I highly recommend their selection of molded-in-color Revell Junior kits because these kits bolt together with large plastic bolts, and polystyrene cement is not needed.They also can sell you a mini-file (that looks like a metal fingernail file) to safely remove a little bit of excess plastic from the occasional piece that is slightly over-sized. From this product-line (of various cars and so forth), the Jeep Wrangler (kit 451019) has some of the most fragile pieces; therefore, I recommend the ambulance, police sport utility vehicle, or Disney "Cars" movie vehicles (for example, Jackson Storm or Cruz Ramirez) instead. A large plastic screw-driver is included in each of these kits.They also sell many different picture-puzzles. It has been a pleasure doing business with them.

Excellent hobby store. Location is on main street in Charlestown, West Virginia. Only meter parking. Any hobby you have they have and if not can order what you want. They also have huge hearts and raising hundreds of toys for my Santa's Kids and other organizations in both Berkeley/Jefferson counties. So if you have a hobby stop by and find your hobby and take home the same day. Merry Christmas 🎅🤶👼☃️🎄🎁

I needed a part recreated for my patio table. Took the old, broken piece in and they had a contractor digitize it. They 3D printed 4 copies for me. Worked like a charm! Great service and great pricing.

The Hobbies Shop is what a hobby shop is supposed to be. Even before the big name franchise shops stomped out our collective knowledge of how hobby shops were The Hobbies Shop would have been a destination.They’ve got a good selection of trains, planes and automobiles in static models, electric models, R/C and most importantly across the board as far as costs and skill level.They’ve also got a decent selection of tools and they’ve got parts! A real parts selection of parts people actually need; unlike other stores that only have parts for weird exotic stuff because they never restocked after their initial inventory was depleted. These folks have the stuff you want and need and they’re friendly.It’s worth the drive from Frederick, Leesburg, Winchester, Martinsburg and Hagerstown.

Awesome store. Well stocked with a variety of items. I found what I was looking for at prices below what I saw online. I was looking for model rockets and rock polishing grit. They had a variety to chose from.
