Disappointed by this organization’s recent decisions to increase price of merchandise ridiculously. Forever 21 faux leather jacket for $30 and Walmart brand skirt for $10. I also just saw a Target brand dress NWT for $17 (you can buy these much cheaper with free shipping off of EBay). It is disappointing that an organization supported by community donations and government funding continually chooses to price merchandise absurdly and still asks you to round up at the register. This is not just due to inflation. It is often cheaper to shop at other stores selling new clothing. I am currently looking for a new place to donate my clothing to as I do not want to support such an establishment anymore.

I find this to be one of the best thrift stores in the area. I actually live in a town about a half hour away. I always come here when I'm in town to see what's new. Today, I found a great antique plate. Also 10 dvd's. All for about $12. I left a very happy customer.

Goodwill is one of my favorite thrift store, this one is good, just the price is lil bit high but they have nice stuff. Clean store and friendly cashier. Got a nice bag that looks like brand new with brand name for cheap price, clothes, kitchen ware and organizer bags which helps organized my bag.

I made a pit stop here while on the road heading home on Tuesday, 07-04-23. Had a variety of items to look through if you had time. Saw what appeared to be some vintage items, including the Nordic Track pictured. I'd never seen wooden nautilus equipment. I didn't need it, but the sanitizer station seemed like a good deal with many available.I purchased a John Grisham book, a new Bible, a Nordic Ware baking pan still in good condition, a pair of Jeffrey Campbell pearl flats, & a soft drink. I and two other people were looking at items in the cases near the register. A staff member asked if we needed help with anything. Don't usually stop while I'm on the road, but I'm glad I found a few good items.

Last week we had worked hard to catch up on getting 10-12 bins of goods out on the floor in just a few hours. We get hot and sweaty and may be wearing a serious, determined, thinking face while we reach our goal, but are always happy to help in any way we can. We love our customers and have had several exclaim on how good the store looks and how clean and organized it is. They say our prices are great and many of our goods are in like new condition.(We are not allowed to take returns per policy, and this is posted on the doors and next to every register at checkout. Electronics can be checked at the back of the store.) We know our regulars and try to point out items they may be interested in. Ebay-ers, collectors and frequent customers all say how grateful they are for our help. We are so proud of the headway we have made!

I have one problem, and I think my rating of the store is correct because of this: They close too early for no reason. I go in there to buy items, and I go mostly when the store is open until 6:00PM. They closed when I went there yesterday at 5:30, and I saw the lights turn off just as I was about to walk in with my boyfriend. I do however like the items that are being put on the shelves and racks. I will be going back.—————————<<UPDATE>> Feb 9th, 23: They’ve been quite amazing with closing now, so the above does not apply. I go here all of the time and everyone there is very friendly. Great deals, and I definitely recommend every local stopping in here at LEAST once. Great leadership, and great teamwork. I’ve updated the rating, so hopefully that helps.

I'm disappointed at how the prices in this particular store keep going up and up. I know the wages for the employees here are rock bottom with little to no benefits. Also, everything is donated so it makes no sense as to the prices. I can often find new items at retail stores for better prices. If you paid your employees a decent wage, I'd feel better about paying your prices. You need to make sure your products have all the pieces and that you sell used products for used prices AND pay your employees fairly. Without these changes, you have lost my business...

I love Goodwill but the old guy who stands outside to collect the donations needs to go. He doesn't help except to dictate where things go, is unfriendly and ungrateful- especially after donating a trailerful of good stuff.

This Goodwill has a lot of inventory and I grabbed a lot of good finds during a recent visit (clothing). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable, especially in comparison with other Goodwills I have visited. Nothing I bought cost more than $8, and that was a new with tags dress. The cheapest thing I bought was $2. Definitely worth a visit!

I would like to say most of the time it's an enjoyable experience and most of the time they got great prices but they have a couple girls working there that really do not need to be working there they are very rude and they know who they are they have no public relations experience with dealing with people once again they're very rude to the people that come there and Shop and once again it's only like two of them and in my opinion they're very ignorant to people at 60 years old I think I was treated pretty s***** from two girls there now all the rest are great and Fabulous

UPDATE:The restrooms say employees only now. I suggest you could offer a key attached to a paddle or something at the front desk. This would reduce the chance of vandalism and allow customers to use it if necessary. I know I it can be a trial to have somebody mess up the facilities, but I don't think letting that ruin it for everyone is the solution.This would get 5 stars from me.

I always find something cool at the local goodwill! You never know what trash might actually be treasure! Most things are very fairly priced, but a handful of items I feel are a little expensive considering they're donations, thats my only problem with goodwill, other that that, id happily go everyday like I usually do :)

Beware cashier charges for items you have not purchased. Called the store manager, as we live 300 miles away. We told her wespent over $60 in the store. She said if we came back in she would give us the $4.09 back that we were over charged." Imagine that she couldn't send us the $4.09 in the mail. She told us the cashier is a new employee, so apparently it's okay to charge for items not purchased?

Found some neat items every time I come in however, some of the staff aren't too friendly.I had these two women (on different occasions) give me trouble for using a credit card my husband gave me and for also using an American Express a different time.One lady said I can't use my card unless my husband is physically here with me! Um, excuse me? Some of the staff are a little unprofessional as well. But it's a Good Will not a Marriott Resort or Waldorf Astoria. lolOverall, I get left alone and I can go on shopping and make my way around the store without any trouble. I'm glad that the staff doesn't suffocate me every 5 seconds asking, "Are you finding everything ok, do you need help, etc". :)

Whoever said there are no restrooms is mistaken. Whoever mentioned the irritating "absolutely no returns" accompanied with rudeness policy echoes my experience. I bought a bike pump that didn't work; tried to return it the same day and got an argument. I demanded, and wouldn't leave until i got, a store credit. Otherwise, it's an ok, typical, Goodwill store.

When I worked there they did not pay me for my hours I never really had a day off unless it was for my doctors appointment they knew I was high risk in my pregnancy but still got mad when I told them a about my doctors appointment they were really rude too

Worst goodwill I have ever visited. The prices are way to high for the products. You can buy many of the things at retail stores brand new than the used items here. The store was also unorganized and dirty. I recommend you spend your time elsewhere. Hopefully one day this store will make some major changes.-Philip

I have purchased stuff at the charlestown store and the cords were cut on the plug lamps why is that..and the store smell and not clean by no means.

The coronavirus security theater is high with this place. They kept the doors locked, ostensibly to limit capacity, and were rudely turning people away who weren't wearing masks (no signage indicated that masks were required, and West Virginia does not require them). Clearly, these people have forgotten that pandemic or not, if you alienate your customers, they still will not be back.

Charles Town's Goodwill recently moved locations to a larger suite within the same shopping strip. However, despite the huge increase in space, it seems that even fewer items are on shelves, which is upsetting since the moving process is complete as a new business has already moved into Goodwill's previous location. Even though it's summer time, few t-shirts, shorts, and other summer-wear are stocked.

Person who is E.D.? with long gray hair who works at goodwill grabbed my purchase and dumped it out after I paid for it. Started snatching up items and tossing them in return piles while smiling?? Uh? Is this legal. What if this happened at another store like Was-Mart? lol Why is this kind of behavior ok here? Training program? I don't think so. Not to mention this place is filthy and used items are the same price or more than retail. Not a charity it turns out-CEO makes millions. So sad. Donate to charities who give stuff to needy for free and treat you with respect.

Prices are way to high. You should be able to make deals. Some times it's just to walk over to Wal-Mart get what you need. It's sad people out here need stuff to live clothes etc and you guys prices are insane. It's handy downs for a reason you get it free.

The prices....lol....the merchandise is donated and not new. Who ever does the pricing is a crook or a very poor consumer! I have contacted corporate and questioned the prices. I shop at two Goodwill stores in Frederick Maryland and the stores are clean and well priced merchandise.

A cashier here asked a customer if they wanted to "round up" (the change to the nearest dollar). Without being asked for what she says "It's for Veterans." THIS IS A LIE. The Goodwill Round Up program is for job training. If some of those people who use their programs are veterans (as unlikely as that would be) you can not claim that it is "for Veterans". I will def. Be contacting manager and/or corporate about this!

I just walked in there saw something i was interested in lady at register told me in a rude way not to look what was out till they take it to the back i heard her talking to somebody about me i take my buisness to martinsburg goodwill or shephard town i didnt get the lady name at the register it doesnt matter anyway i wont go there again 2 other people was with me lost 3 people business

Have always liked Goodwill. They seem to have a high turn over of employee's and managers. Makes you wonder whats really going on.
