This campground is beautiful there is abcde loops in which a& b are only for camping which have few sites and lonely areas so dont book that instead cde are for RV, tent and campers which is great with fully packed people and sites are preety close to each other .we booked D-25 site which is close to lake .bathrooms are pretty good clean and well maintain hot water also coming .one can find common picnic areas in cde loops which can also be used as shelter if there is heavy rain .no network available in the campgrounds but when u coming to sutton and heaters town u got your network back . Which is 15 min from campground.

Enjoying a campsite with full hook up (no cable) and a water view, smooth lake surface kayaking and solitude, this campsite is a five star experience. Shower houses always clean and stocked on our visit. There is historical value with a primitive museum and buildings you can visit. By solitude, I am referring to being “unplugged”. No local tv signal, take a walk to get two bars on your phone. I purchased the camp Wi fi, but had no consistent internet connection while using it. No streaming. Just enjoy the peaceful views. Enjoyed seeing an eagle fly over and a mink swimming as we kayaked. Posted a pic of the mink.

Great camping for the whole family. Our (pet friendly) site was shady and well maintained. We went on the tour and found the old homesteads and their stories quite fascinating! Beautiful place to visit, highly recommend.

Nestled back into the hills of WV is Burnsville Lake. A short distance from the interstate and you will find one of the best lakes around. Well laid out camp grounds, some right on the lake, good fishing, playgrounds, hiking trails, bike paths, staff who patrol the area and the friendliest people around is the reason we go back year after year.

We really enjoyed spending a week here. Lake side spot, with 50amp service. Launch the canoe from camp, and enjoy the lake. Lots to explore here and in nearby waters.Update a year, later same great experience .

By far one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed at! So much to do and very relaxing! We are a family that loves to camp by the water! We camped in C17, was plenty big enough for our 30ft Springdale. Great for kids, playgrounds are wonderful! We spent the weekend, but definately needed longer here!! Bathhouses were very clean. My only complain is, the charge for internet service - cell service is spotty (we had NO service) and I realize when you are camping, you should be together as a family BUT .... the rates for internet is terrible!

Great family campground, no wake zone by the campground, so it's great for kayaking and fishing. Clean sites, campground and bathhouses.

Though we only stayed one night, this campground is a hidden gem with full 50 amp hookups and lots of room for big rigs. Check out the Virtual 360 tour we did of part of this campground.

We had went there a while back to go camping with family. It seemed like they knit picked about anything and everything. Seemed like if you looked like you had money they didn't bother you, but if you looked like you weren't as fortunate as others (by judging RVs/campers) they picked at the littlest things! They wouldn't allow us to ride hoverboards (even with the go-kart attachments) but yet let people ride their electric bikes around and some had no helmets on! Then their things to stop people from backing over the hill when backing their RVs up weren't marked so they were visible at night and my dad who has a defibrillator/pace maker in fell over it with both feet and caught himself on his hands thought he broke his wrist. I don't know if I'll be back or not.

I found this place by accident but I'm so happy I stopped here for the night. Absolutely beautiful well maintained campground. The park ranger was so nice, and incredibly helpful. The park also hosts events throughout the year, I'll try to come back for a few of them. And a must see us the on-site museum. The gentleman at the museum was so knowledgeable about the homes, church, out buildings on the property and was able to tell me about mill run and the turnpike. He also sent me on the right oath to see the other cabins and gave me history on the post office/homes.12 out of 10, will Absolutely recommend!

It's hard to give this beautiful campground only a 3 star review but there were two major factors that lead to this rating. The first was the rudeness of the campground host. Now when we visited during the summer the folks working at the main booth were beyond friendly and helpful, but that friendliness was now there in the host at all. Second was the dump station was a level pull in but the actual dump hole was on a curb and we all know poop don't flow up hill. Now the good things were the view and the lake minus the fishing.

We had site c-15. Close the bathhouse and beside the park with a lake view. Perfect for people who like to be 3 foot from your neighbor lol. We were lucky and had respectful neighbors. The campground was clean and the park rangers were doing their rounds several times a day and later evenings. The bathhouse in C was always clean and plenty of TP but zero hand soap for the last 4 days we were there. The beach (just outside campground) was out favorite spot!

Would have loved to stay here but the sites they had available were no pets allowed, odd thing is they are handicap spots, so I guess they say handicap people cant have pets. Very sad.

This campground is absolutely gorgeous. The lake is great, playgrounds are nice and it is very clean. We have been here a few time and had loved it. However this last experience was horrible. The “camp host” was a complete witch. She was on us the minute we got there. It started when we parked one of the two cars, which is in compliance with the rules, in our spot and the tires was maybe two inches in the grass, we had to move it. Then the second night we song happy birthday well the next day she showed up and gave a warning of valuation of the quiet order. With that we decided that we would just not hang in our spot and hang at a friends spot. That night four grown women drove to the bath house. Well the host was stopped on the side of the road put her arm out and waved them on. When they went around her she road on their bumper followed them to the bath house and told them they need to go to their campsite it was after quite time. After they apologized to her they came back to their sites and we all went to bed. About two hours later at like 1 in the morning or later she had the sheriff at our door claiming that we was reckless driving because they went around her with her arm out. We had to clear it up with him and explain that we just simply miss understood her he told us to be safe and have fun. I guess that just made her mad so the next morning she was sneaking and taking pictures of our site with my children playing outside. Then an hour later had the park rangers at our site. They had came to site us with reckless driving and a quite volition. After explaining to the rangers that this is completely ridiculous that this woman has rode by our site at least ten or more time everyday we have been there completely over looking other campers valuations, staring at me like I was the devil, called the sheriff on us, taking pictures of my children which is completely illegal, pretty much harassing me for three days that I would be contacting my lawyer about this and contesting the tickets because it was simply her word lies against six others the ranger was very nice and decided not to ticket us. It was drama from a Karen that was completely uncalled for. So BE WARNED that if you have a large group and like to enjoy yourself on your little vacation you DO NOT WANT TO STAY AT THIS CAMPGROUND!! The “camp host” will make it her personal mission to make sure that doesn’t happen. BTW I have NEVER In my 35 years had the cops called on me till this. Thanks Karan!

We had our first trip. Will definitely be going back many times. The area was beautiful. Great place to fish. Nothing like other lakes we have been to. Very friendly and clean.

Views were beautiful, but we camped in E loop, and the sites were on top of each other. Quiet hours are supposed to start at 10 p.m., but people were up drinking and partying until midnight or later. Definitely NOT MONITORED at all. Will definitely not waste our money here in the future.

This is a hidden gem in the heart of West Virginia! Easily accessible, ultra clean, and it has an amazing historical walk through of a village depicting Civil War Era living. Camping ranges from tents to high end RV living, ALL amenities in an ULTRA CLEAN, very quiet environment. Fishing, kayaking, swimming, boating; you name it and you will enjoy it here.An added bonus is Millstone Grocery, located at the entrance. This independently owned general store will provide you with convenient, affordable necessities along with fun things like kayak rentals, firewood, hand dipped ice creams and fresh baked pizza.

Beautiful and well maintained COE campground. Many sites are either lakefront or lakeview. Primitive tent sites to full hookups and everything in between. Reconstructed 19th century homestead as well as Battle of Bulltown historic site is within the park. Will definitely visit again. Cell coverage was mostly non-existent with Verizon.

It was nice, for the family campers who like to share everything with your neighbors. Would love to see hikers camping. The staff were very nice and facilities were clean.

Great. Army Corp of Engineers campground. We had full hook-ups and no trouble backing our 36 foot RV into the spot. Be sure to come in from the south. The road from the north has a lot of twists and turns. No cell service or wifi.

We love it there but the host had reported my son as fighting instead of wrestling on the playground and we had to leave even though he was playing with several friends. The host nor the ranger investigated what had really happened.
