I'm a travel nurse from South Florida. I normally stay in an AirBnb. But I was glad to have found Surestay. I was only a few minutes away from the hospital, which was a big factor when I'm on call. The hotel had a busy day the day of my check-in, but they were able to check me in a few minutes early. The staff, starting from the front desk to housekeeping to maintenance, were very helpful, professional, and friendly. They really made me feel welcome. I needed that act of kindness and welcome. I stayed for 13 weeks. My room was kept clean. The front desk was very helpful during my entire stay. Kudos to their housekeeping team for maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel. Their parking lot is well lit. They have security cameras, which is a plus. Their maintenance personnel were readily available anytime during the day. The internet works fine for me, although it can be spotty every now and then. The hotel is pretty quiet for the most part, other than when they are fully booked. They do have a laundry room that accepts debit or credit card. They have late afternoon cookie treats. They also have free continental breakfast. This is a great fit for not only healthcare travelers but for all travelers that needed a clean and comfortable place to stay for a night, short term, and travelers like me that stay for 13 weeks. Surestay offers long-term travelers a discount, which is very helpful. I highly recommend Surestay in Buckhannon, WV. Their hospitality shows in their smiles.Rooms: They have a good size junior suite, a king-sized bed with a pull-out couch, a bar, a dorm size refrigerator, and a microwave in the room, which is where I stayed in.Safety: They have security cameras and their parking lot is well lit.Walkability: Lowe's is adjacent to the hotel. Walmart is 5 minutes or less away from the hotel. The restaurants are only 5 minutes away, and the hotel is close to the interstate.

My fiance and I took a last minute 3 hour road trip to visit Blackwaterfalls. After we couldn't find anything open near by we decided to book here and drive about an hour. The girl at the front desk was friendly and recommended a great place for dinner. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable and everything was in working order. Breakfast was nice and check out was quick and easy. Morning staff was great too. Wish there was a hot tub or pool to relax but for only an over night night stay it was perfect. If we are ever in the area again we definitely will book.

This would have been a great place to get some sleep IF my room hadn't been the first room beside the lobby. ALL night and into the early hours of the morning (like 3 AM) people were playing cards and laughing and talking very loud. Even with earplugs in, I couldn't get any sleep. The rooms are not sound proof. You would have thought that it was a bar instead of a hotel. No hot water and certainly no water pressure. Certainly was not a nice overnight stay.

I've stayed at this hotel several times and this was my first issue but had several in this one stay. I requested a specific room. Arrived to find they had gave my room away. No worries for the most part they gave me another room. I made it into that room and it was very hot and the AC did not appear to work. I contacted the front desk and asked them to find me another room. They did and the cooling system worked well. It was not a suite like I had reserved and it was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in but the AC worked and the bed was comfortable. Only issue with that room is that the shower head due to a leak sprayed water on the wall above the shower. I tied a towel around it and reported that at the end of my stay.

We stayed here a few times now and each room was a hit or miss. There were obvious traces of an unclean room (hair all over the bathroom, dirty toilet, pillows, sheets or chair had stains, etc,) When we asked to be moved, the Front desk was very apologetic and accommodating to move us to another room. Walls are a bit thin, you might hear someone's conversation every now and then. All the tvs are smart tvs so you have the option of logging in to your personal streaming service. Internet is also hit and miss, its mostly stable, but can have an annoying period of buffering. Staff is super friendly, I wasn't a fan of the breakfast, but make your own waffle, cereal, fruit and sausage patties with 2 juices were available. Dog friendly and has a dog bag/trash area on site. Location is great near the main hwy, with a few selections of restaurants near by.

I have stayed here on 2 separate visits. Overall good stays. They are pet friendly with a dog walk area and free treats in the lobby. All the staff have been friendly in my interactions. The Lobby is modern and clean. There is a breakfast area, coffee, hot water with hot chocolate and tea bags 24/7.The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. They only have queen size beds in the rooms, no kings. The first visit there was little to no hot water, the second visit the water was plenty hot. Not sure what that was about. The walls are a bit thin, but that is most hotels.They put out freshly baked cookies in the evening. During my first stay the breakfast consisted of yogurt, cereal, and make your own waffle, but he second stay I was pleasantly surprised with hot scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and sausage patties. There are also cereal, yogurt, and oatmeal packs available. The only issue with the oatmeal packs is there is not really a good way to make them. The plates/bowls are Styrofoam, so they do not work in the microwave.The price is reasonable compared to other options in town. There is no exercise room because it has been turned into a conference room. Would be nice to have a treadmill or something when it is raining outside. The location is walking distance to a major chain restaurant that televises sporting events and has a full bar. Other than that, you need to drive to get to downtown Buckhannon to the other shops and restaurants. Only a 2 minute drive. I just like to walk when I'm visiting new places. Overall, this will be my go to place when needed.

I stayed here for several nights in December. Jessica at the front desk was outstanding in helping us check in and with a small issue that we had.The room was super clean and the breakfast was good. The only issue I have is that the wall of the room was stained and the some of the linen (pillow cases and a sheet) were rather thread bare and I could see through them.It is a loud / quiet as any other budget hotel I have been in.

The staff was friendly but the room was DISGUSTING and tiny. The chair was stained to the point that it should have been thrown out. The bed was awful and my back was sore every morning. We ended up cutting our stay short by a day because I couldn’t spend one more night sleeping in that bed! If I was rating on staff alone I would have given 5 stars but the room/bed was terrible.

Harley, the blonde woman who works as the front desk does so much work around the hotel, there are just the right amount of people working for the guest staying, they are carefree and sooo sweet! Being from Ohio and recently moving to WV, I found that the hospitality of ALL employees were incredible. I honestly have never felt so pleased and comfortable at a hotel. It’s clean and nice and updated and pet friendly! With a cheap pet payment and we stayed two nights. Harley really stood out and was just so sweet and jumping to our questions and needs no matter how often we flagged her down. The warm fresh baked cookies coming in from the cold was a great treat and although breakfast has no “traditional” eggs and bacon and the works, there were healthy, grab and go options and plenty to show from for kids and adults with and without blood pressure issues as fresh fruit is offered. Thank you for a great stay and we will chose them again if we ever need to stay at a hotel nearby again

LOVE this hotel!! We traveled up that way from Beckley, WV because my daughter and I was attending an Open House at Glenville State College (University). We had a hotel booked that was closer to the college around Weston, but the wind had knocked the power out in the whole area and that hotel canceled our reservations. We were terrified we were going to have to sleep in the car and the girl at the front desk contacted SureStay and between the two worked everything out! When we got there we were extremely pleased with check in - professional and yet so friendly and accommodating!! The hotel lobby was just beautiful and to our pleasant surprise, they accept pets! The room was immaculate and was appointed beautifully! The bed was so soft and comfy and we simply adored the amenities! Breakfast was wonderful! REAL scrambled eggs and just a wonderful setup with all the juice, coffee, milk you could possibly want! Breakfast cereals, breads, yogurt, breakfast sausage and much more!! It was snowy so we enjoyed hot chocolate! I have a wheat allergy and am diabetic as well - choices were well balanced so that I could have a healthy meal! This is our new home away from home! With my daughter attending college this Fall 2022, we will visit quite frequently! The hotel is also situated near a Walmart, restaurants and gas stations... just PERFECT!!

As a BW diamond member, I try to stay in their hotels. This was our second SureStay location and it was very nice and appeared to be new. Two things that we didn't like were no king beds and no nightstand or side of the bed lights. There was one light fixture over the headboard area only. The TV was kind of small also but for one night, everything was fine.

This place is atrocious. Rooms are not being cleaned at all. After checking in, I noticed dirty pillow covers and plenty of hair on the floor in the room and bathroom. Requested a change, and the second room was even worse than the first. Had to go to a different hotel. Stay away.
