Shopping experience today was possibly the worst I have ever experienced in all my 40 years. Person working the deli had absolutely no ability to comprehend. Told them several times of the ham I wanted and when I told them I wanted a 1/4 lb, it was as if they completely shutdown. Had no idea what I was talking about, they asked if it was more than 1 1/2 lb. I was completely dumbfounded. Then went to checkout this person was something else. Very slow and not polite at all. After they finished ringing up my groceries they just sat there. I asked are you going to bag the groceries? The response.....no that's not my job but you can. I was completely mortified. What is the hiring and training process nowadays and where do these people come from? Management really needs to start watching their employees and take corrective action and retrain. Before the actions of the staff starts to drive business away.

Walked into the store right through the outside door and it smelled like rotten meat and walked into the store it's self and it smelled so much worse so I went to go get my bread and went to the meats to get meats I just about gagged cause the whole meat dept smelled like rotten meat and as we decided to leave we told the manager upfront and he said what part of the meat department and we told him all of it. And he just stood there. The Kroger on Harper Rd is so clean and never had this issue there never smelled anything bad or nothing. So Guess Harper Rd location I won't make no more trips to this one cause it gets a 0. They need to do better with this and act like they care... Especially the management.

WHY IS IT EVERY TIME I RIDE THE BUS TO MY LOCAL KROGERS AND UTILIZE THE SERVICE DESK. ITS CLOSED FOR THE DAY!AT 2:28PM. At 3pm AND NOW AT 4:30 pm !I only come on Mondays or Tuesdays. This happens every time I come here for a money order or to pay AEP BILL ! There’s 3 employees out side smoking several inside at register EVEN cashiers SITTING DoWn. !!! The Mgr just said it’s closed for the day and couldn’t give me a reason why. I told him it was urgent. I needed to pay Bill he said yep it’s closed. I wouldn’t be upset if this wasn’t the third time I’ve wasted an entire trip on bus to be turned away. Employees everywhere doing nothing !!! Management is a joke here. This location has the laziest staff I’ve EVER Seen. All Facts !!!

Every time I go to use the money services at Kroger, I get there, and there is always a sign up saying they are closed at this time. During business hours. I've been there at 3 to 4 times and this has happened. I always leave there mad. I just need a money order. It's always something with this particular Krogers.

This is the good Kroger.Avoid the one in Oak Hill.I drive 15 miles each way to this Kroger INSTEAD of 1 mile to the one in Oak HillGreat store here!

Krogers is a fine chain grocery store.It offers the consumers a variety of goods and services like many other large chains.The difference seems to be the service.Most employees are friendly and very helpful.The price point is ok at best but as we all know at this time Inflation caused our Grocery bill to rise over 25% because of COVID and it is slowly decreasing.We as Americans enjoy the lowest food costs and greatest selection of any nation on earth.Most consumers are not aware that grocery stores work on a very small mark up compared to other retailers.Kroger seems to be doing a good job supplying us consumers with fresh wholesome food stuff.So as the media ad use to say"Let's go KROGERING the happy way to shop"

Went to discuss about a job which was posted on a job site and the manager disagree about having a position open so I shown him the information, then saying that a misprint as well as the wrong pay for the position. Seems they need to hire a new manager as this guy was rude as well as confused about what is needed in his store as well as not wanting to pay his help! Good luck finding someone to work here as he tried to say union base yeah back in the day but part-time don't see the benefits as well as going to do more work than the full time! Understand thou that management doesn't like somowho has more experience with customer service as well as running the business opportunities leaving the qualified out and hiring workers who they can push around rather then actually accomplish having a better store then the competition! Funny thing is that theses places are losing business due to improper staffing as well as online shopping which I don't blame folks for not shopping where they feel unwanted and they don't care about you just a paycheck which half of them deserve even the management which they need to bring back the demotion instead of promotion!

Did you know that Kroger at Beckley Crossing employs a Fairy Godmother? Her name is Glenna and she works in the Floral Department. She "saved the day" last week after I purchased a corsage on behalf of my son at a highly rated florist nearly an hour away. I was devastated when I picked up the flowers; they were inferior and unattractive. In a panic, I remembered two years prior when Glenna had constructed a charming wristlet for another event. I crossed my fingers and called Kroger.....did she still work there, I wondered? Oh, yes! Although she was busy with a full wedding order, she took the time to design an utterly gorgeous corsage befitting a princess! I am convinced that Glenna has a magic wand. The flowers were sparkly, soft, a perfect compliment to the formal ballgown. I was so relieved, tears welled up....she must know how grateful we all are. So, thank you Glenna the Fairy Godmother for waving your magic wand. You took dust from a shattered expectation and turned it into a dream come true.

It truly is a shame that we do not have more of these stores out west. You cannot beat there prices or the quality of there food for the price. I honestly cannot see any competition, that's the level I believe there on.

Disappointing as usual...lolI only go here when I absolutely have to.My mom likes to shop here, so I go for her. But honestly their prices are just to high and it's not worth it when you can actually go just 2 minutes further down the road to Save A Lot and get 10 times the amount of groceries for way less!!!And their cashiers are terrible!!Don't even get me started on them...lol

Friendly staff, and they are the only reason not to give this a lower rating. Very limited selection if you're used to going to Kroger in other places. The layout isn't great, but most of the time you can't find something because they don't stock it. The "gourmet" type ingredients are especially lacking, but the other day we couldn't find semolina which seems like something every grocery store should have. The store seems outdated, but it is clean. Finally, the scanners at Kroger drive me nuts because it takes multiple times to scan most things, and if you buy more than 5 items at some point it will act like you snuck something in the bag requiring an employee to hit a button at their station.

Shelves are usually kept well stocked (exceptions: beginning of month due to persons receiving SSI, SSDI or SS at that time but that's at most any store). Any time in Beckley, we stop in to see if there's any new deals. Most employees are helpful and courteous.

The store usually smells so bad it’s hard to make it past the front doors. Their prices are fair and the cashiers are fairly competent. The customer service area is horrible at you will stand in line for anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes for tobacco or a money order. Their only saving grace in my honest opinion is that they are always stocked with extremely well that is if you can get past the smell.

Kroger is a one-stop quick shop kinda place. But there is a hold up at the registers sometimes cause they get backed up. But it seems to move pretty smoothly. So it's all good.

Employees are too comfortable cussing and flipping each other off in front of customers AND THEIR CHILDREN by that i mean RIGHT by the check out lanes. They like to run customers out early so they can close and go home. By that I mean they get on the intercoms and say "store closing in 20 minutes, ALL registers will be shut down in 10 minutes" last I checked you're not supposed to shut ALL registers down until the last customer checks out WHEN the store closes. Not 10 minutes before. Don't get me started on the smell of the place. They also put chicken out in puffy packaging. Someone from corporate needs to walk in and see this for themselves.

I was in the store over a week ago getting a few items. When I came through the main aisle between the checkout and grocery aisles I fell very hard on a large amount of water that appeared to be leaking from the endcap cooler. I was soaked on the right side of my body, embarrassed, and injured. I contacted the Kroger customer care through their website the same day and never got a reply. Not only are they negligent, but they also lack the common decency to respond to a customer.

They have a wide variety of merchandise, even more than the location nearest my residence which is really nice.The restrooms could usually use more attention than they receive.They rely quite a bit on the self checkouts and could use a couple more registers being opened at times.Employees are usually friendly and helpful.

All around good experience shopping here. Produce department was good. Descent prices and selection. They have a fuel center to use your points at. Self check worker was sorta nice, almost.

The store has a great selection of items.Unfortunately there are many other negatives. Many...not all employees act like they could care less and one actually flat out stole my bottle return money at the service desk.Last time i went there near closing time there were no clerks operating even a single register and it was self check out only.I had several items of produce and was unfamiliar with how to check those items out.There were no clerks to advise me so i just left it all sitting there and went to Food Lion.

I do understand that this location closes at midnight. However, turning off lights in the coolers makes it very difficult to shop as you cannot see unless you open each cooler door. All sale items were missing from shelves, nothing was stocked correctly, resulting in my losing money. This was a horrible experience and I cannot say much better of the other location, it is actually worse with horrible management.

I'm giving it at 3 only because the meat look fresh in the items are stocked in the vegetables and fruits and everything looked really good and clean but the store smelled like overwhelming fish from the fish market back there which is back as a fish look good but the main concern of it is you know you go in and that's all you smell but the second main concern was managers are walking by there was like at least two or three employees working there they had their pants halfway down showing their underwear while they were walking I don't believe that in a professional business like that when your customer service industry that you should have something like that going on in your store I don't care what the outside fad is

Good Kroger’s, but not sure why it constantly smells like Fish. Fish smell is the worst up front. No other Kroger’s around here smells that bad. The Click List is pretty slow as well and they always make substitutions. Other than that it’s a decent Kroger’s and seems cleanly other than the Fishy smell.

Just got a Money gram. The Gentleman was very courteous and professional. He was able to assist three customers with ease while ensuring he treated us like Gold. He called one customer by name and knew what the man wanted which made me smile. Would visit anyday.

They should not advertise sells if they cannot plan to order enough product or perhaps hire better management. They are having a 2 day sale. I wanted to purchase the Digiorno pizza for $2.99. I went to Kroger the 1st day of this sale and they did not have any pizza in stock. The cashier told me to go to customer service for a rain check. The lady at CS said she had to ask management to give me a rain check. She called a Mr. Jones to call her on her extension. About 10 minutes went by and Mr. Jones never called or come by the customer service desk. The young lady went to find Mr. Jones to see if I could get a rain check. He told her I could not get one that I needed to come back the next day to see if they had gotten any in. I waited so long for this Mr. Jones it was crazy to me he wouldnt just give the rain check since I already drove 20 miles just to shop at Kroger for the sale.I used to be so impressed with this stores customer service so I was just really disappointed. Clearly, Mr. Jones didnt value my time since he didnt bother to call the girl and she had to hunt him down while I waited.
