Hiring employees like your emoloyee Rebecca at the Barboursville mall location will be the down fall of this company. Not only was she blatantly rude to myself, my children and the other staff around her. She openly critized my book choices at check out and made my son cry. Had my children not had their hearts set on the books we picked out, we would have left them at the register and walked out. She is short, has dark blonde/light brown hair. Rebecca is 100% the reason why I will never spend another cent in store or online. I have also taken it upon myself to put this review on all social media platforms and will be suggesting other book stores to friends and family. You should be ashamed to have this employee representing your company.

Amazing store, friendly staff. Huge selection of Funko Pops and figures. Plenty of board games and various odds and ins to find. Absolutely almost every type of book you could want. Some prices were higher than what you could get on Amazon but you get it then. Check prices if you are worried about over paying. Fantastic store, will definitely go again.

I mainly go here for the coffee (best coffee in the area imo) but they've also got a great selection of manga and of course tons of new and classic books.

The store was a bit understaffed. The clerk helped me find the book I was looking for. I would have rated higher except that BAM no longer provides bags of any sort for your purchase. But they offer to sell you a tote bag for $1.99 though.

So disappointed at the amount of unprofessionalism at the check out counter. While in the line the employee checking us out, Rebekah stated in front of my children and others customers “Everytime someone touches those chickens it makes me just want to blow my brains out!” Keep in mind my children are standing by these chickens and turn around like they had done something and one of them ask me what that meant. I was extremely upset that she would talk like this in front of kids especially seeing how young others were around her.

Believe a little more about their coffee then their boons... But, medium size store. Plenty of gifts. Customer service doesn't match that of the Town center Mall. Instead of helping they were just upselling me to death. I dropped my questions and just paid for stuff I didn't want just to leave at that point. Was going to put some books on order and said forget it. I did find some really cool books. Assain creed series I didn't know existed.

Really great place with just about every kind of book 📖 for the whole family! Lots of great merchandise for the avid collector, and those dedicated readers who like booklights, etc. Great in store cafe! Do not recommend the rewards program unless you are one who has a vast library and frequently reads!

The gentleman who was working the front counter on the afternoon of Friday 10/14 was very knowledgeable and helpful. He pointed both my wife and I to areas where we could find the topics we sought and made a suggestion to me for a new series to read. We'll definitely be back again and hope that he's there working to assist further. Thank you so very much Sir!

Always find the coolest merch here. I got my Thor mjolnir keychain that's actually heavy for a keychain here. Theres a vast manga and Funko collection. I got all my BigBangTheory Funkos here and for a good price too. A whole section for kids that has toys, stuffed animals, books, etc. All their books and magazines are neatly organized and cattegorized to the genres. The employees are always helpful and welcoming and always busy. Theres also a cafe along the side that does frappes, capps and coffees. I do recommend shopping and I do visit quite often. The layout was wonderful. If you're looking for a social media book, they're right up front. Or you can look in the shelves. There's plenty front facing books so you can look at all the wonderful covers.The cashier was super helpful and friendly.and showcased the books that they had open pre-orders for. Will definitely go back for my book fix!

This is a tremendous BAM location that has a lot to offer and if there is ever anything they do not have in store they are super helpful with ordering it in for you. I can literally go in and spend hours in here. I enjoy the atmosphere and of course the coffee shop doesn't hurt either.

Been using this location since it was a borders. Great selection (especially for children and young adults) and great staff. There’s some hate on here for my boy Skip because he’ll take a bit of time for each checkout but he’s just being thorough. That guy’ll help you track a book down for 30 minutes without dropping his enthusiasm if you can’t find what you’re looking for.

I like to take my time at the bookstore to look over a lot of topics I am interested in. Unfortunately the selection wasn't good enough to temp me to buy, but my family walked away with a lot of books. Visited the coffee shop, and while it was busy, it was worth the wait. BAM is offering a lot more toys and games to their customers. Overall a good experience but book selection was smaller than previous trips.

I really hate leaving negative reviews about specific staff members, but this time, I feel it needs to be said. The cashier Skip is entirely too pushy and will try to upsell you into oblivion when you check out. The icing on the cake was when he said "please take this survey; I would really like a pay raise." Unbelievable.The merchandise, however, is great.

Always a pleasant experience here. We can't go near the mall without my son asking to stop and get a new book. One of his favorite places by far. Staff is always very friendly and helpful ... especially Skip whom I don't believe ever actually leaves the store. :-)

The guy that sells you or should I say con you into signing up for discount card should be fired! He con me into discount card with it ended charging me 25.00 then he says he will give me a 10.00 card I can use now which he already rings you up and says he can’t use it now, you’ll have to use it next time which I was very upset about because he said I could get it now but turned around and said I had to come back and buy . Then I have another card and it says 20 percent when I shop again for a whole year which I’ll never use again because of this cashier . I will never come into that store again and people don’t get con by him. You’ll be out of 25.00.

The staff at this location are great. They interact with everybody while you're waiting in line. They are helpful to everybody looking for this and that. For anybody looking for the shopping experience you can't get online, this store definitely makes an argument for why brick and mortars are still necessary.Additionally, the staff member named Skip is wonderful. Very helpful and entertaining.

I’d recommend avoiding the heavy set male cashier. He’s a liar. He pressured me into doing this magazine subscription and I resisted but eventually caved when he said it was free.He lied because it’s only free for 3 months and then you get charged. Avoid at all costs. I didn’t want the garbage to begin with. I caved so he would leave me alone.I hate to imagine how many elderly people this clown has taken advantage of in his time. I won’t return anytime I see him at the register.

i LOVE books a million. don’t get me wrong, it’s a great place to shop for not just books but also novelties, funko pops, vinyls, etc. I love the atmosphere and the whole vibe there. there is one specific cashier i cannot stand and he’s there every single time i go. Skip, the cashier, ruins my entire experience in the store. I feel he needs to be fired. Let me explain, each and every time i go, i want to purchase something. I do NOT want a books a million subscription, if i did, i would ask. I do NOT want a magazine subscription, again i would ask if i did! Skip is very VERY pushy. This specific cashier loves to push your buttons and try to scam you in every way possible. After saying “No thank you” multiple times he may give up, but then try to get you to buy something else. I would just like to go in and pay for my books then leave. I am tired of standing at the cash register for 5-10 mins while this guy tries to convince me to sign up for multiple things. There were kids in front of me in line and he asked them “Do your parents have a subscription? Do you think they would want one?” Like ??? what ???? I’m done with this place. I’ll just travel to the library

For the love of god please stop trying to sell me magazines and get me to donate to your charities and going on and on about how you won’t lie to or scam me. I don’t want your membership card that costs $25. I don’t want your subscriptions, and you can donate to the charities yourself if you’re so inclined.I just wanna buy my overpriced nerd junk and get out. I don’t want to do this whole song and dance for 15 mins every time I come in.It’s disgraceful that this is allowed to go on. We got “got” by the magazine scam by Skip literally a decade ago and it’s STILL an ongoing problem. He really ruins the entire experience of coming here and I have no idea why this is even allowed when it’s clear from the reviews here that this guy makes people highly uncomfortable. I know he’s just doing his job and that he’s made to force this stuff on people.. But he’s WAY too pushy. No means no even when it comes to magazine subscriptions 🙄
