Went flower shopping yesterday. They had a lovely selection of beautiful flowers. The outside helper was courteous and very helpful! Then I went inside to pay. The young lady accidentally overcharged me. It was a minor basic mistake that could have been resolved quickly...instead she decided to make a rude comment about how she never miss counts but "if you say so, I guess I'll refund you". Then she helped someone else and decided she did indeed want to come out to my car to count again, which she did. After counting 3 more times she finally huffed and said I'll need your card again to refund you. No apology, no I'm sorry, or my mistake or anything. Just a huffy, rude young lady who couldn't own she made a simple mistake!! Last time I'll be shopping at Roots! Customer service is super important to me and that entitled young lady ruined shopping at Roots for me!!

Finally stopped to check out this nursery. I live in Cle Elum so I’m used to going far for what I need and highly value the customer service I receive when I arrive after such a long drive.This nursery checked all my boxes. I was greeted by a friendly gentleman and was able to mosey around and take it all in without being bombarded or hovered over. Then when I was ready to make decisions, I had no problem getting the help I needed.The plants were in beautiful shape, had ideal growth for mid May. I even found wire vine and varieties of sweet potato vine/ ipomoea with good length. They had some different plants that you won’t find at big box stores as well. Lots of trees! They had some beautiful Japanese maples with interesting shapes.They had an incredible supply of irrigation parts, tools, etc. Also, whoever was assembling the basket/ container plants did a nice job! They inspired me.

Good selection, lots of variety, and prices are reasonable. It was my first time shopping at Roots, and I had a great experience.

I do a lot stuff with PVC for aquarium and sprinklers for my own projects. Yes you have another massive irrigation shop in town. However there are components I have spent years looking for, this place had them all be it no longer needed. That said another gem here is 3 sizes of pond weir assemblies for reasonable prices. Pond project will soon get one. So looking for uncommon drip parts or pond stuff, check them out.Staff are overall great. The place is much larger than expected. I would like to see them get racks for the small pots on the ground or at least have a taller sign for the lot present. Other issue is not everything has prices. Given mass of plants understandable, but a taller sign with data and cost are a good solution.As far as I saw prices really were not out of line. You’ll certainly find a good variety. Can you hit big box stores, sure but one cultivates locally and other imports everything. Plus Roots had varieties not typically seen. The Succulents are an example, plus rhubarb types. Also had mulch based natural fertilizers not chemical there for a reasonable price. I didn’t get pictures of plant areas as those exist, the parts isles were not scene.

Im not a local to yakima, but this place is definetly worth the trip, I would go back just to visit again! The staff were friendly, it was nice, clean and organized. They DO have a restroom available inside for cutsomers fyi. (for us "out of towners" that MATTERS) Pretty minimal indoor house plant selection, theyve got about 10-15 of them (saw some BIG ones too!) But they have a huge variety of outdoor acessories, plants, shrubs, treas, and flowers.

A very well stocked nursery! A great variety of just about anything that can grow here from trees to veggies. The grounds go deep from the street so bring some comfy shoes. Very friendly staff with some good tips to share. A lot of irrigation supplies a well. The prices seem fair from my shopping around. Well done Roots, keep it going!

I gave Roots a deposit for my work in July. We had it on the calendar. It was never completed. No one communicated with me after letting go of the project manager. A little bit was done. I paid for what little work was completed and it was not a fair price. I had zero energy to fight for it. I received no phone call, no apology, just a check in the mail after I followed up in November. The only reason I am giving them more than one star is for their attentive finance person. What an absolutely dismal experience.

Annie helped me out buying lots of plants today 9/39/19. She is very very knowledgeable and very pleasant and took the time to make sure I was getting the correct plants. I really enjoyed my shopping experience and the manager was very friendly and helpful as well. Good folks, excellent customer service and this will be my go to plant shopping nursery. Thanks so much Annie for the excellent help and your knowledge. 5 star for sure! And I don't give that rating easy.

I took about 15 to 20 baby aloe starters to Roots. My big plant had babies and there were so many and I had no room for them. When I looked at an aloe starter there, it cost $7.99. I thought it was great to be able to help a local business by donating them to Roots. Then I asked about a plant I had bought last fall that didn't make it. I bought nine of them and 1 did not make it. The cashier told me there was no guarantee on any of their plants and I would have by a new one as she took the aloe starters from me.I have done a lot of business over the past 3 years at Roots even though there are other places to go. That will change.

We had the best experience with Roots Nursery! They are flexible with your requests. Initially we were going to build our own patio. But after pulling up the sod, we decided we needed help with only leveling, graveling and adding sand. They came by and were able to help us with JUST those things!The workers were pleasant and thorough with their work. They left our yard immaculate after they left!I would highly recommend to anyone for partial or whole yard projects!

Awful customer service. I spent $400 during my first visit to this place. I paid for 6 of a particular plant and got home with only 4. When I realized I was missing two (which I’m sure accidentally fell off the cart or got left behind in the parking lot - my bad), I called them immediately and told them what I was missing. They essentially told me I was wrong, that there were no plants left behind and would do nothing about it. Really? I too own a retail establishment and there is no way I would EVER challenge my customer over a $22 retail purchase, especially if the customer had just spent $400. Never will I go there again. What a shame.

I don't know about you but when I purchase a 75$ christmas tree, I expect it to drink water and last more than 4 days. Tried to call for advice and I got an "I'm not really sure". You sell them... come on...I expected better.For those of you who might think it's user error, I've gotten real trees my entire life. Not once has this happened.

Upon arrival, you will sense a customer friendly service business. Kind associates who answer all your questions easily, combined with quality plants, makes this place a must stop for all your landscape needs. Owner was more than friendly who was ready to take time to answer questions i had, and helped me find what i needed. Super great place to shop, and all the associates were super friendly. Yall earned my business, and i have been back over 10 times in 2 months. Thank you for making us feel welcomed each and every time. Have a great 2020.

The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable on the selections offered. I asked for help on a particular landscaping issue and a worker helped me pick out the perfect perennial to accent my home. It worked out so well I went back several more times. The prices are reasonable for a local business and it's in a well established area. Big box stores have lower prices on somethings, but you can't trade cheap prices off for good customer service and employees who know their craft. The plants are well taken care and healthy. Go here if you are a first time gardener trying to beat the COVID-19 shut in blues or an experienced landscaper wanting to spruce up your property.

Spent over $300 on product. Cashier had $5.00 off coupons at register but they weren't clearly visible. After she charged us, we saw the coupon and asked if we could still get the discount. Her response was that it could only occur at time of purchase (we hadn't left the counter yet). We commented that a considerate cashier would have informed us of the coupon as we were purchasing, but she insisted that it was there and we had to tell her before the purchase was completed. $5.00 isn't a huge loss, but this experience will stop us from coming back. Make sure you check the counter for coupons before paying. Other than that, employees were knowledgeable and very helpful.

Went out at Christmas last year and picked up a tree, and there were many Nobles of medium size to choose from. While there noticed the nice selection of pots, so went back out and found several nice pots to meet my needs recently. The young lady at the desk was very kind and helpful.

Let me start from the beginning. I ended up buying a total of 4 Monarda Bee You Happy #1. #13817. I bought 2 on 5/22/21 and 2 more on 5/31. They all had the same plastic id tag that was saying it was red. Which is what I wanted. So when they started to bloom, 1 was red the others purple. I went to the store twice and talked to two different girls that wrote down a message for the boss, who I think he's name is Brain to respond to my complaint of the wrong colors. I also talked to one of the girl employees who worked outside with the plants. I told her what happened and the misplaced signs on the plants. She was nice, but didn't help me with my problem. Since the boss didn't respond to my complaint, I guess I'm stuck with 1 red and 3 purple Monarda. I wish they at least would've responded back and gave me some kind of help instead of just ignoring the problem. I guess I'll get my plants from some other nursery.

I'm torn on this review. Roots Nursery (formerly Russell's) has been around a long time. I've been going to russels since I was a little kid. It's one of the few nurseries that is in the middle of town. It's hard to beat this convenience.I'm all about supporting local businesses, but they have to be priced somewhat competitively! In my experience, prices are quite a bit higher here than some of the other nurseries in the area. On this trip, I can in on a mission for bark. All of the other places had closed and I needed to get it done later that day. I was shocked how expensive bark was. $44/CY! Pricey, but it's good looking stuff. They are also pretty exact on getting you exactly 1 cubic yard. This isn't a legitimate thing to complain about, but I'm used to other companies in the area being a bit more generous with the quantity that you get! Considering the price and quantity, I'm not sure if this is going to be my go-to place for bark! For plants, if you don't mind the price - they do have good quality stuff and someone will always help you load it into your car!

I am very impressed with how helpful and genuine the staff at Roots Nursery are. My first time walking into this business the staff answered all of my questions and even made an appointment to blow out my underground sprinklers the first thing on Monday. My regular irrigation specialist had me booked so late in the season that my irrigation pipe burst and they still were not able to come out and fix it for several weeks.Roots Nursery & Landscape to the rescue for me! They give you personal and professional service that makes you want to be a customer of theirs for life.

We built a new home that was completed last fall. Roots designed, installed and has maintained the yard. Bryan, the owner came up with lighting and design ideas we never considered. Our house was on the Tour of Homes and we had lots of compliments about the street appeal. Roots stands behind their work. They also have unbelievable Christmas trees. Bryan understands Customer Service is not the name of a department.

The plants were gorgeous and looked very healthy but my biggest pet peeve is going into a store and prices not listed. I walked right out after the 5th plant I picked up didn’t have a price anywhere.

It was ok just a lot of shrubs and flowers, I was looking for vegetables plants and berries but didn't find anything. Also wanted to look at fruit trees but not a lot of choices. No employees around the nursery to ask questions.
