I wait patiently every year for McLendon’s amazing geraniums and today was the day! Not sure what their secret sauce is, but their geraniums are the best! So many beautiful summer options are in and I even got a free tomato plant! If you want a hardware and garden store with a more neighborhood, small town feel, this is the place! If I’m looking for something out of the ordinary- I stop here first. Their array of products is amazing and the friendly, knowledgeable staff a real plus. They will even assemble your new weed eater for you and help you get it registered before you leave the store! If you’re into BBQ- be sure to check out the outdoor grilling aisle. They’ve got everything imaginable for all types of grills and smokers. Today I found the magnetic Treager cutting board I’d been searching for. Susan Says…keep calm and garden on!🌸

The customer service here is beyond excellent! All the staff from the cashiers to the power tool department were so friendly, attentive and professional it was a very nice change from the larger stores. The older gentleman in the lumber department helped me and my boyfriend with a coffee table project we were working on and it ended up looking great! He really knows his stuff. Another employee took the time to explain some different torches to us, and we appreciated it very much since we weren’t sure which product was the best option for our needs. Will return there soon for sure!

Been shopping at McLendon for over thirty years. Have made many a purchase without a hitch. Today there was a long line to check out because only one cashier was working. When I got in line there were easily 12 other customers waiting in front of me. Not a problem. I don’t mind the wait, there’s plenty to look at while standing in line. When my turn came, I placed my items on the counter and put my card in the reader. After tapping the circle I pulled my card out. Too soon! Error. Machine quit working. For the next 2 minutes, while the card reader rebooted, I was subjected to constant harassment from the clerk and made to feel that I was to blame for the line of people waiting behind me. I made an error. I caused a 2 minute delay. I felt humiliated after the constant reminders, “Don’t put your card in, don’t put your card in, I’ll show you how to use your card, don’t put your card in, don’t put your card in.” He told another employee, “ Customer pulled his card out too soon.” I jokingly said, “ You don’t need to tell on me.” His reply, “Too late, everyone in line already knows.” The comment was made in a rude fashion by someone who very obviously thinks he is error free.

Super friendly and helpful staff! I was actually taking aback with how kind and considerate each member of the staff was. I came in basically not knowing exactly what I needed and two of the staff took the time to thoughtfully understand what I was seeking and help me find the right items. Kudos to McLendon's! I've only been at that store a handful of times over the years but today's experience made me want to make sure I visit them more regularly.

Took my brother who was visiting here from Chile because i needed to grab something. He separated from me to look at the powertools. I found him being interrogated by the security guard and the employees at the paint section. why he was here, what he was buying. My brother doesnt speak english so they took him over to the paint section because one of the employees spoke spanish and they were harrassing him as to why he was here and what he was doing.I guess minorities arent allowed to browse here. Never coming back here again.

Huge selection of standard and specialty hardware at decent prices, good tool selection. Couple of aisles of all the different fasteners in grade 5, grade 8, stainless, galvanized, brass, English, metric, ... Nuts: standard, thin, thick, nylock, jam, wingnuts, etc etc. Good paint department.Not the best for e.g. big buckets of standard nails or drywall screws (I think that market is left to the big-box stores), but for anything else try here. Consider this a supplemental supplier.

I used to really like this McLendon Hardware store, but their service has been lackluster and even off-putting recently. When my husband was trying to buy some lumber at checkout, the older gentleman helping him looked like he was frustrated and treated my husband like he was wasting his time. I should say that I have had good experiences with other employees, which is why this isn’t a one star review.Also they don’t offer some of the services they list on the website. I tried to recycle some smoke detectors, which they say on their website they can recycle, and was told they weren’t able to help me. I called four other McLendon’s in the area, and none of them recycled smoke detectors either. I get that it’s a free service, but even the signs at the registers in the store list smoke detectors as something they can recycle. Corporate really needs update the list of their services if they’re not going to bother to offer them.

I've lived in many places around the U.S. and been to dozens of hardware stores for home maintenance, yard work, barn hardware, etc. This is the most well stocked, expertly staffed hardware store I've ever shopped in. Too bad it is quite a distance from where I live. But I know that when I want a piece of hardware that is just a bit higher quality, or stronger, or less common, then McClendon's is more likely to have it than any other hardware store in this area. And if I want some quick plumbing advice, or electrical information I can usually get it here.Some of the staff can be snitty and arrogant/pushy. And of course the prices are higher than big box stores. But if you can pay a bit more and get more...So (in a pinch) it will stay my go-to hardware store.UPDATE: I had been to three local big box stores (and online) seeking some small, unique metric bolts, washers and spacers. But today I finally gave up and drove to McClendon's. Ah-HA! They had all I needed, plus some. Even was able to refine the design of my project, with the unique parts they had, that I did not know even existed. This place is a home shop tinkerer's dream candy store.

A well stocked little hardware store with just about everything you'll need, including paint and stain, etc.They have a plumbing aisle with a special help desk which is useful.A great variety of plants, especially during Spring & Summer, as well as many planters/pots, and garden accessories.They also have a Loading Bay for soil, bark, stones, pavers, etc. Consult the Catalogue at the checkout for what you want and pay for it, then get a loading slip and drive through so they can load your trunk for you.They're offering curbside pickup during Covid-19. Call, order and pay with a CC, then drive through and pick up.

Such knowledgeable employees! Jason found the exact plumbing fitting that I needed in about 2 minutes (after my plumber had thrown up his hands about our weird plumbing situation and told me he had no idea what part to use). And other past experiences at this store have been similar.

I prefer to shop for hardware items at McLendon’s always! Here’s why. My backyard hose bib would not shut off the flow of water. I bought this probably 5 years ago. So, I shut off the main water supply and removed the faucet stem and planned to replace it with and new stem.One of the guys there ( I wish I had gotten his name) take my stem and a part off the shelf. He rebuilt my faucet stem while I stood there in awe. I have no idea how much he saved me. But he also saved me from throwing away a perfectly rebuildable part.We’ll done, McLendon’s. Thank you for keeping experts on your staff.Oh, and yes. The rebuilt faucet works like new.

Flyer advertised strawberry plants, went the day the local ad was posted. No Strawberry plants. Call them the next day as requested. Waited on hold for 10+mins. Say they have been selling plants all day. When asked if they just came in or were Hawaiian strawberry plants. Said they don’t know. Would love for businesses like McLendons to survive but with this kind of customer service, why bother to buy here?

Had an amazing customer experience over the weekend. Was trying to find a replacement for a plumbing part. They give me great advice about how to replace it with other parts. The fellow in plumbing really knows his stuff. I definitely recommend their customer service over other places.I have found that they have parts that other stores don't, so I've started checking their store (or website) first before going elsewhere.Check it out for yourself!

This is a business that you want to see remain forever. Their service is spectacular. From the minute I walked in, I was greeted and helped with making selections for power tools for my landscape. They were very informative, cared that I had the right gear, and ensured everything was set so I could be productive and safe. This is my go to place! Quality products, service, and Main Street charm. I wish they put every Home Depot and Lowe’s out of business so that they could open even more locations and be part of more communities.

Always a fantastic shopping experience. Hometown, locally grown, friendly knowledgeable staff, everything to keep your home and garden running in tip top condition. Truly, there's something for everyone of all ages to find in the store.SO MANY different items packed into the store, the product lines are obviously tightly curated and they have a full staff who are well educated about everything in the store. This is one of my favorite things about them. If you go the big chain hardware stores you'll be wandering around trying to find a person to help and when you do find one it's usually someone who doesn't know and then you're waiting for the right person to be found. It's not the end of the world but you won't have that happen at McLendon's.

Prices are a bit higher on some items, but mostly competitive, especially when you consider the knowledge base & customer service of the employees! Always a great selection of items too.11/19/22As usual had a great experience tonight and received lots if help from various staff. Love it here!

Outstanding prices along with selection to fix new and old household items like old faucets and toilets from the 50s. Yet at the same time very competitive with Home Depot and Lowe's. Just bought 42 2x8x16 papers for $1 each saving me $24 over the price from the big box places and I always find knowledgeable people to answer questions.

While I'm sad that this is no longer a privately-owned local small business, I still much prefer this place to the nearby alternatives (Home Depot or Lowe's). They have pretty good prices and a little bit of everything. I have always loved their outdoor plant selection and they have some fun planters that you can't find anywhere else. Their lumber department and all the people who cut the materials have been especially friendly and helpful to me - and I have high standards, as I have a lot of experience with hardware retailers.

NORMALLY, and I always have in the past. However, I still want to rate McLendon's a 5...but I want to share something that happened. I am 57 years old and I am disappointed to say, cashier Christopher needs to learn to keep his belittling and condescending comments to himself. He is much to old to not know this. He embarrassed me to the point my cheeks turned hot and red.I will continue to shop at my favorite McLendon's in Woodinville, however I will avoid rude Christopher at all costs.

I consistently find the staff to be available, knowledgeable, and helpful. They help you find a part or approach to solve your problem or project.I also find it very nice that heavy items such as 3+ cubic feet of Peat Moss they load your car for you! You don't have to load it on a cart and haul out to your car.Overall a great experience!
