We met two adorable 3 mo old kittens and took them home. The staff was very helpful in guiding us in planning care needs even after we had them for the first week!

Homeward pet adoption center truly cares about the well-being of the animals that are housed here temporarily. I volunteer occasionally with the dogs/puppies here and getting to work behind the scenes you can see that every dog is taken care of very thoughtfully. We are always being taught new ways to keep the shelter fear free, and make the dogs time here as comfortable as possible. If you are looking for a new best friend, I would definitely recommend checking out their website for adoptable pets!

This is my family's third dog adoption with Homeward Pets. They are amazing at saving so many rescues and placing them with their loving forever homes. Our fur babies bring our family much joy. Two of them were older and difficult at first but Homeward Pets provided behavioral and medical support. They also make sure all the pets are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption.

I found my little love Beans the cat (formerly Bob) and adopted him last Friday. The staff were so helpful, let me spent time with the kitties and the adoption process went so smooth! I love my little man and am so happy I found him.

Such an amazing shelter. The staff are all incredibly kind and caring, and their love for the animals (and finding them the right homes) shows. They've been so great in working with us around our particular needs for a furry family member, making sure we get exactly the right fit. We so appreciate Homeward Pet Adoption Center!!

The staff is so caring!! I had to re-home my cat because I am moving out of the country and based on having adopted from them before, I know they will find him the perfect home. Several years ago, I adopted 2 dogs from them and these dogs were the absolute BEST. They are very professional and truly make sure they find the best match for the animals they adopt out. Thank you Homeward Pets!!

I called to ask about how to view cats on the website. I couldn't see any photos of cats listed. I told the person on the phone that I tried two different browsers and she just told me what links to use even though I told her those were the ones I used. I was hoping to find a cat that is hypoallergenic and she said that's an odd term to use and she "didn't know what it even meant". When I said I didn't see anything still and began to ask about the cats up for adoption (since I couldn't see), the woman on the phone hung up. Glad this is technically a no kill shelter because that kind of attitude and service caused me to look elsewhere. If anyone at the shelter is interested, I continued looking and it seem the mobile site works well, but I think your desktop site has some kind of error.

I went on February 1, 2024, to adopt a kitten, filled out the appropriate paperwork they ask to be filled out. I get there and I am told the volunteer will be with me shortly. She was not a very friendly lady, but I blew it off. I met the kitten I was interested in, while petting him she just stood there, didn't offer a room to take him to, to sit with him, didn't give me any background history, she made it feel very awkward. After a few minutes I said I would take him and she said okay and told me to refill out the paperwork I had already filled out, and when I got to the questions she told me I didnāt need to fill that out. The adoption process took 10 to 15 minutes. The bulk of that time was her switching his chip information over and me filling out the payment portion of the adoption. She told me he was getting over a āsmall kitten coldā and that it wasnāt a big deal, itās nothing you can vaccinate against. When I inquired about whether or not it would be contagious to my 2-year-old resident cat she said āunlikely, the kitten wouldnāt have been cleared to adopt out if he wasnāt okayā I kept them separate the first few days for everyone to acclimate, everything progressed nicely and I let them play. On day 4 my indoor only resident cat was sick, on day 6 I was at the emergency vet with a very sick cat. The āno big deal small kitten coldā was actually an Upper Respiratory Infection that almost killed my resident cat. $3k later and I am still dealing with the aftermath of my sick resident cat all because of a volunteer who couldnāt take the 5 minutes it would have taken to look in this kittens file and see on 1/31 it was noted he was to remain is ISO until his condition improved. But he was adopted out to me on 2/1. There was information about his neuter recovery, nothing about him having an URI except URI in a small font at the bottom of the sheet in his file. I am beyond furious and will never recommend Homeward pet adoption. Adopting out sick animals without the volunteers having adequate information to fully process this adoption or provide further information to new families is completely unacceptable! In a follow up call, I spoke with a different volunteer who apologized for my experience but offered no resolve. This is a PSA to all to read the animals medical file before taking them into your home, the volunteers clearly donāt, it could save you thousands of dollars and a lot of worry.

I got this beautiful baby here almost 2 years ago and sheās tied for best cat in the house with my other one I adopted as a stray. And today I borrowed a humane trap to hopefully get my black kitty back. Lovely lovely place to go for adopting and could not recommend enough

Waste of time. We had to schedule a visit to see a couple cats. When we arrived, we were told that they "obviously aren't here" because they were adopted. You didn't inform me before my appointment, so how is that "obvious"? You just sent an appointment reminder, and it looks like those cats were adopted before the reminder, so... good system? They were helpful enough to mention that I could start over from the beginning and fill out the paperwork again and be "first in line" to adopt a cat currently in foster, even though there is no line or hold system of any sort, so that was clearly inaccurate on some level.

Such a great adoption center with staff that goes above and beyond to answer any questions you may have. Thanks to them, I was able to adopt an adorable 1 year old Labrador. The center was very informative with all of the pets and their background. The animals all seemed to be taken care of quite well. Furthermore, the pricing for adoption was just right and they even gave me a bag of food, a leash, and a collar. Great people that provide even greater care to their animals.

Great non-profit, no-kill, animal rescue, shelter and adoption center. We brought our 2 kittens here for their Happy Neuter Year $5 Spay Day. Got 1 male & 1 female fixed, core vaccinations, rabies shots, & microchips all for $110. We brought our paperwork ready as instructed and were out the door in under 15 minutes. Thankful for the awesome deal & felt good about the ladies we dropped them off with.

This place is AMAZING! As a new volunteer I am so happy to have found Homeward Pet. The animals are incredible and the dedicated staff goes above and beyond to find forever homes for all of the beautiful cats and dogs that come through their door. I have already learned so much and witnessed so many joyful pet adoptions! This is an excellent community to be a part of and if you are looking into Homeward Pet Adoption Center to find your new best friend(s) or to volunteer you will be so happy that you did. (Be forewarned you will fall in love the moment you enter that cat or dog room!)

I adopted Nala and Bear yesterday, renamed Millie and Micro by my science nerd hubby. They have settled in very well. Millie noticed Jasper(parrot) and barked at her for about 5 minutes, and that was that. Micro has not reacted to her. They have chosen their primary person, me, however are comforts With my husband and son. They love their walks, Nala needs a little more training but is doing very well. The adoption process of these two pups was comfortable, non-stressful. I have to thank the lady at the front desk for her info on thundershirts. All in all a 5 star experience and a great pair of puppies!

Be wary of long wait times; you will have to come in early on a weekend and even on a weekday you might wait 20-30 minutes. They get 5 stars because they put the pets first, and that's what matters! My family adopted a lovely 13 year old cat and they were very honest about her medical conditions and gave good advice on how to care for her.

It's been three years now and I can't tell you enough how I love and adore my Chiweenie Linus (aka Sammy Davis in the shelter). The adoption process was thorough and all considerations were addressed on both sides. Thank y'all for being wonderful staff.š¾

Great organization that does a stellar job finding good homes for pets. I went there to donate items from our beloved Olyvia (lab) who passed recently. They put donations to good use. If you are considering getting a dog or cat don't skip this place!

I adopted a kitten from here and was very happy with the shelter! We looked at dogs and cats, and you can tell the staff care a lot about what they do. The kitten i adopted was very healthy, happy, and playful. I love that i was able to get a kitten already spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Hince he is young i still have to get a couple vaccinations but its a lot less of a hassle than if i had to do them all.

After loosing my beautiful, wonderful, orange tabby 1-1/2yrs ago to cancer, my boyfriend and I were finally ready to adopt. Unfortunately for us, we were also going to be picky which doesn't bode well come fall...1. We wanted a male (so drooly & loving, lol), 2. We were also stuck on getting another Orange Tabby, and 3. We wanted a kitten this time. Or at least my boyfriend did; my heart kept breaking at the pics of older adult Orange Tabbies like my prev 2 adult adoptees (I'm a chump for a sob story and a pair of sad eyes). After going to the Humane Soc and not finding what we were looking for, they gave us a handout listing a slew of adoption centers in our area. After going through the list at home, visiting the website and seeing the perfect orange tabby kitten (with backup kittens); we made plans to go the next morning to try and adopt him.Got there at 12:15 with downloaded paperwork pre-filled out and checked in; listing our preferred kitten. We had about a 30 min wait. Meanwhile my boyfriend noticed a whiteboard by The Kitten Portal would update with the names of kittens freshly adopted (WAAA! the kitten we wanted was adopted w/in 15min of getting there). Went online on my ph to recheck pics of the kittens, only to discover that their website updates just as quickly... kitten out, kitten deleted; great system! We were able to browse the orange tabby kittens still avail as they were being adopted. Finally, our turn...We looked and hemmed and hawed; disappointed that our main pick had gone and talked about coming back a few days later when a new batch of kittens would be ready to come out for adoption; but then saw The One. As soon as I held him, he burst into purrs and hasn't stopped yet. 20min later, he was ours and we were heading home with The Perfect Kitten. The whole process was well organized. While I can understand people's disappointment when Their One is adopted out from under them, I think you have to understand that the place is small and that a small crowd/mob of people crowding the extremely narrow aisles to see the cats (and dogs??) would be disruptive, not to mention stressful on the animals as well; so like it or not, they need some kind of orderly system. My suggestions for anyone looking to adopt, is to download the paperwork at home first & fill it out before before you get there and; get there early! Keep your eyes peeled on the whiteboard by the Holy Portal Door To The Kittens, and check the adoption page of their website on your phone to keep updated on your options and your heart open should Your One slip out of your hands... I am SO glad we did!
