We visited twice, once at the end of their day, once in the morning. The space is open—including the bread bakers working area—with big windows and a modern industrial style. The dining area and restroom were both clean. Outside seating is available, we sat inside.Their espresso is just okay and everything on their menu is on the high end for price. The bread, cinnamon roll, cookie and apricot bar we tried were delicious. The breakfast items we ate were also good. The ham and cheese sandwich was created with good quality ingredients but is simply meat and butter on bread. Lettuce or sprouts, a dab of Dijon mustard and a tomato slice would bring it home.Get there early to miss the line, especially on the weekend. They got slammed right after we were served for breakfast (10 AM) and it didn’t let up. Despite the food being tasty, the staff were not welcoming or helpful on either of our visits. We don’t mind bussing our own table but being busy should not preclude providing friendly service.Parking: On the streets nearby.

Very nice café in the town of White Salmon. They have a big selection of pastries and a nice assortment of sandwiches. They also have people making dough right in the shop. Nice amount of seating inside and outside. The first time we went here we ordered a double chocolate chip cookie, cardamom bun, chocolate olive oil cake, sandwich, and a huge salad. They also have pizza night on Monday's. The prices are really good and you'll be happy with your meal. Highly recommend this place.

I wanted to put together a picnic for two, and the WS Bakery was the ultimate place to supply our lunch. I picked up the Italian and Fra'Mani Rosemary Ham sandwiches, and a piece of the Chocolate Olive Oil Cake. The sandwiches were wonderfully flavorful, and the bread was amazing! The cakes was the best cake I have eaten. Moist, but held up in texture, and such a wonderful chocolate flavor. We will stop in next time we are in the Gorge.

By far the best bakery in the area. I am a very harsh critic of both baguettes and croissants. I've had many great ones and many terrible ones. You will not find anything close to what they have here until you get to San Francisco. It's a shame that they keep the regular croissants for sandwiches sometimes since they are great on their own. I've never had the pizza here because the line is always ridiculous. I miss the croque madame but the other breakfast options are also delicious. Salmon tartine is delicious. Sometimes I stop to get just a ham and butter sandwich which is so authentic and just like I've had in France but maybe the butter isn't quite as plentiful and good. I feel very lucky to have a bakery of this quality so close to home.

Between their outstanding bread, the excellent value, the delicious food that they serve, and the pleasant service, this bakery is a solid five stars. There is almost always a line to get in at popular times, but it moves along. My favorite breakfast spot in the area.

This place was amazing! The bread was so fresh it literally taste like it just came out of the oven the crust was nice and hard while the interior was very soft. Tomato soup was super creamy and absolutely delicious! The salad had some of the best dressing that I’ve tried in a while and all of the other ingredients for me to perfection. Definitely going to be stopping by this place every time I’m in town now.

If you are in white salmon, passing by white salmon or anywhere in the surrounding states STOP AT THIS BAKERY. Incredible baked goods, sweet and savory. They have a beautiful breakfast and lunch menu, great coffee and drink menu and then you can send yourself home with a loaf of bread. Outdoor seating to enjoy your treats with a stunning view. The staff are great just don't upset the male server by having multiple tickets on your table, he may chip your plate when he begrudgingly tosses your dish onto the table.

Original 2 star review:Good food. Poor service. Staff frequently feels snooty.Lost half of our Christmas order. Just the latest of a half dozen such failures over the last five years. Would like to be able to support a local bakery but I think we will just cross the river to Pine Street.Update:The owner called and let us know that she had found the rest of our order AND she offered to bring it to our house so we could have it for Christmas dinner today. We were definitely impressed by her level of care. Wish the employees cared half as much as she did. Updating to a 4. Hope her staff steps up their game.

Excellent. Really cute inside and lovely outside seating area too with nice selection of picnics benches, metal bistro seating and wooden benches and tables. Really good menu and super reasonable pricing for everything. All the baked goods looked amazing and the blueberry polenta cake we had was very tasty. We also had a very delicious cheese which was excellent value. Highly recommend.

Simply outstanding, and unexpectedly so in such a small town! Thank goodness we stopped here the first morning of a three day trip so that we knew enough to come back every morning thereafter. Good coffee menu, great breakfast sandwiches on homemade English muffins and bread, but above all--the pastries. Cannot stop thinking about the cardamom caramel sticky bun or the lemon glazed huckleberry scone. Not only are the flavors outstanding and inventive, but their mastery of the proper crumb, texture and done-ness is obvious on the first bite. Worth a drive across the river for a visit!

The pastries are amazing! The bakery was great! They serve coffee & other items, but the star feature is their baked goods. Coffee OK, mimosas OK, but the pastries? Oh, MY!

Always spectacular. The quiche is likely the best I’ve ever tried. Cardamom rolls are croissant-like, flaky, buttery, and amazing! The smoked trout toast was exceptional, a classic pairing of capers, pickled onions and soft cooked egg on a slice of wholesome, hearth-baked, bread. Love this place!

Excellent to-order food. The deluxe breakfast sandwich in a croissant was great, and also the avocado toast, and don’t forget the almond breakfast cake!

Amazing parties, bread and coffee. The girls at the bar are friendly and the environment all around is prefect. I also like the view of Mt Hood from their back patio. This deserves a 5 🌟 rating from me.

I ordered ginger molasses cookie, granola & yogurt bowl and an Americano. Granola bowl is very well balanced between yogurt tanginess and granola crunchy and compote sweet. Ginger cookie has a nice flavor but very mild. Honestly, if you were to blind taste test the cookie, I couldn't tell you that it was ginger or molasses, but it does have good flavor and well baked. While mixing my granola and yogurt, I misproportioned the mix and ran out of granola. So I asked if I could have a little more granola and it was no problem. The coffee had a weird smell to it. Something akin to hemp or flax or something hippie-ish. But the taste was rather yummy and I drink it all so it couldn't have been that bad. If you're a fan of homemade granola, even if it's a little on the sweet side, they sell it separately and I was very tempted to purchase it because it was definitely the highlight of the breakfast. Service with a smile. Cafe cleanliness is above average with no concerns there. Seating is in one big open room so louder echoey noise level is expected. But at the same time creates a festive mood. No plastic or styrofoam present. Refreshingly the plates and silverware were actual ceramic plates and metal silverware. Even the fruit compote cup is a paper product. The open room is so open that the bakers are even actively kneading the bread dough with no barrier between the customers and their work station. It gives kind of a an old world meal feel all very pleasant. It was a little on the pricier side but that's to be expected for fancy white salmon. However, it being a locally owned business I'm happy to pay the price.

At first glance, even just driving by, the line outside may seem daunting and not worth the wait, but they're set up cafe style to take orders at the counter. That line moves quickly, and that's where simplicity ends: the food is impressively well crafted, from ingredients to production to plating. It's clear that the kitchen has chops and I'm excited to find another reason to visit this charming little spot soon.(I do hope they put up small disco balls or something sparkly in the doorways to mitigate the flies, though. Asap. )

A very cute local bakery. All the offerings are made right there in their own ovens and everything I had was delicious. The coffee is good and the flavors they have for espresso are hand made too (vanilla and caramel). I really loved coming here for a snack and coffee in the morning.

Super busy at lunch time but well worth the wait, the staff and food was amazing! Highly recommend! I make my own cold brew coffee and I have to say theirs was very good. Cookies and bread we bought were super tasty. We will be back.

I've had their cookies as a gift and they are great. But they are not open for the working man. They are only open a few hours a day and a few days a week. So frustrating when you want to get something before work. Everyone says they are the best, but if you work a day job just forget about going. They don't even open till like 8am. Not bakery hours.

White Salmon Bakery is the idyllic prototype of the small town, locally sourced bakery and Cafe. It is unfathomably cozy, cool, and delicious. This has some of the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had, even against home made. I will go here every time I'm even remotely close and never regret it. You are doing your soul a disservice by not frequenting this gem.

Fabulous!! We went 4 times while in town for the weekend. And we went back again this week. The barista on Saturday morning was quite snarky, but the rest of the staff super nice and eager to please. 5 stars for everything except the snarky barista. 😂 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ PS: we got some dessert items to go - chocolate cake and lemon tartlet - WOW!! WOW!! The best!

Wonderful little bakery with interesting bread and meals - today I got the Mama Lils (marinated peppers) and cheddar bread. The special was a Dungeness crab and asparagus egg dish. They always have excellent seasonal specials.
