My friend and I arrived in Westport late in the evening. We went online and discovered this funky little deli is still open. We hurried over and found no one in the front where a couple of booths and a display case are located. There's a small bar in the back and it had 2 or 3 patrons. After inquiring the helpful bartender said we could take one of the booths up front since my friend uses a walker, and she would take our order and serve us there.We ordered Clam Chowder and Tuna Sandwich and it was delivered soon after. After getting some food, a great porter beer and meeting all three of the house doggies, we were ready to get to our condo and settle in. Staff here were super helpful and saved us from starvation after a long drive. Thanks!

Was a great place and welcomed outsiders! I ordered a sub the night before to go on the fishing boat! Was a very delicious sub! Went back after another place in town was snotty and this place was great! They have a whole outside place a giant jenga set basketball hoop. A firepit which I enjoyed! The locals where friendlier here as well as alot of out of towners.

If you want an amazing time, a fair priced, amazing sandwich or pizza, great atmosphere, friendly folks, and amazing adult beverages you gotta go to Mermaid's!!! We were referred from another deli and pub because their kitchen was closed. Had the opportunity that same evening to thank the individual who referred us to Mermaid's. The folks there were so friendly and quick to strike up a conversation. The drinks were just AWESOME. We shut the bar down we had so much fun. We definitely paid the price the next day, but would do it again (with a lot of moderation). If you are in Westport or planning to go, please do yourself a favor and go find out for yourself. Thank you so much madam bartender for such an awesome an amazing time. Can't wait to bring a little Texas charm back to this amazing business!!!!

A decent little dive on the outskirts of the small fishing and tourist town of Westport. I hadn't been to Westport in about 5 years, but got into town in the evening. Just about everything was closed and the one diner in town seems to have been shut down. The few local dives, like this one, seem to be the only places to get food after about 7pm. That said, the food was decent and same with the service. I don't drink, but decided to hang out for a bit and watch sports highlights. At about 10, apparently a fishing boat had come in and the bar filled up with roudy locals. About an hour later they were all pretty drunk and boisterous. Maybe you're fine around that, but keep it in mind if you're just trying to hang out.

Best Bar in Westport! My friends and I always, always spend at least one evening here. The atmosphere is friendly and fun. The food is excellent too!This is our 21st year in Westport and 10ish years going to the Mermaid. NEVER MISS!

How cool is this place?! A dog park and a bar in one?! Way awesome! ❤️ There were up to 6 dogs in the fully fenced back area. Everyone had a handle on their pup and all the pups played so well together. Big and small. Pitcher of beer was cheap too! The weather held out the entire time! Bartender was super friendly.

Thank you Stephanie for being a great bartender and great company!We were looking for a dive bar to have a few drinks last night, and we decided to check this place out because it had a good lookin’ food menu and was open later than other options near our hotel. We weren’t quite sure what we were getting ourselves into because of the lack of lights at the front of the building and parking lot… it looked like the front end of the restaurant was probably only open during day hours. But once we entered the door we saw a hallway toward the back and heard movement that way, so we followed the hallway. We were greeted at the bar by a friendly patron named Michele and by Stephanie who was bartending, both warmly invited us to sit down and have a drink.We spent the night laughing, playing giant Jenga and eating delicious sandwiches, and even got to bring our dogs into the wind protected patio area outside to say hello.

I ordered 3 different sandwiches he gave me 3 of the same will never go here again do not recommend threw them all away. Total waste of money. Person I was with kept asking me if guy was drunk.

Solid beer selection, fun vibes, cool outdoor area with games / fire pit, and decent prices. This is a true beach bar, not some tourist trap wannabe.They were out of chowder unfortunately, but the artichoke dip was good and the meatballs even better. Fun way to end our day of kayaking before heading back to the campsite.

Sandwiches were the bomb! Had the Reuben and while it did not have the usual thousand island dressing, it was loaded with cheese and delicious! The bar was a great locals pub with cool fisherman and great bar staff. Thank you all for your hospitality and great food!

Wow what a cool hole in the wall. The guy manned the whole place alone and our group was insane large and hungry. He had an awesome attitude for his day off. Food was good and we were entertained the entire time. Games ( not for small children who can read) and the back cave there goes off into quite the back yard. This place is For kicking it in your Jean's.

A great local pub to grab a quick drink and great food! The decor was very appropriately named for a dive bar and the clam chowder was amazing. The prices are really great too! Bartender was super friendly and was hustling to keep up with orders. Highly recommend for the food and service!

We were pleasantly surprised when we came in. Ordered pizzas and devoured them all. There were plenty of things to do to entertain ourselves while we waited. Giant jenga (some blocks had inappropriate sayings/drawings for kids 😅). Pool table, darts, board games, etc. It was fun. Staff was friendly.

This place has delicious food. They make sandwiches and pizzas and I'm not sure what else but both which I had were very yummy.I have never drank alcohol there, but I've played pool and passed the time there several times and the bartenders are very cool and down to earth. One even was about to give a young man a ride home because he was too inebriated, but I was there and took him instead so she didn't need to.The locals are also friendly.I enjoy the open architecture. It gives a good feng shui and atmosphere.

Most excellent fresh chowder, very funky and fun decor. The single staffed bartender was friendly and cool making sure everyone was taken care of. Definitely going back whenever in this neck of the woods again.

love this place awesome food always open an willing to make food no matter the time always open till 2am staff is so friendly and out to please,witch makes it best . it kinda off beaten path but well worth the visit.

Went there today, 9/5/21, and ordered two sandwiches to go. The guy making them was by himself but there was only one other person in the place so you wouldn't think it would take long. After over a half hour the guy was playing with the juke box and I asked how much longer and he stated he just started them so it would only be another 10-15 minutes!! To make two sandwiches? Really? Anyway, after another 25 minutes we finally got our sandwiches to go. So all in all it took just under one hour to get two sandwiches to go. I should have went to Subway in the gas station up the road. I realize that there was only one person working but an hour was completely out of line and the guy didn't seem to be in a hurry or care. This is the first review I have ever left but I will never go back.

Update-unfortunately this place is just not as good as it used to be! Also please clean food service area and bathrooms yuck!Best pulled pork sandwich. Staff was very friendly and great service with a smile. I always get The Maui Wowie😋 yum yum

We came her and the wait was way less then every other restaurant in the area. The barista was so nice. She was so sweet and kind. The food is great and worth the wait. Would come again, sadly I don’t live nearby.

I must have in walked in to a different Mermaids. First glance, filthy. Then a young lady walked out of somewhere an announced that we could order in the back and walked away as we were talking to her. We ordered our sandwiches and when we inquired about chips or sides she kind of chuckled as she grabbed a wire rack from the bar and said "we got these" which has about 5 bags on it. After being told they were out of diet coke we should have left. Our order came to $30 and as I walked by the fly ridden kitchen I heard their microwave start. It was at that point I asked for a refund which apparently the young lady didn't like cuz she was even more rude as she tossed my change on the bar.

I think this place was very cool but my girlfriend and I stopped by on our way after a fishing charter, picked up a sandwich and headed back to the Seattle area. We got the (Maui Wowie). After eating a quarter of the sandwich I had a mild allergic reaction. I have a allergy to peanuts and tree nuts. I just want other people to know who have allergies to ask and see if there are any nuts in the sandwiches that they don't disclose.FYI, the sandwich was delicious!Thanks

I was about to bring some friends and drop some dollars here but the bartender named Bernie cussed us out and was very rude. Left without buying anything and my group re-routed to greener pastures. First time I've rated a place so low based entirely service.
