Neat little store with a good selection of freshwater tropical fish. Just check the expiration date on foods and such - some have been on the shelf for a long time. Staff is friendly and they can special order fish for you if you're willing to wait a couple weeks.

A great place to find supplies for all of your pets needs! Very knowledgeable staff and beautiful animals. We got our first leopard gecko about 2 years ago and we just recently got another one. They are two healthy and happy little lizards who fit perfectly into our family! This is our families #1 pet shop and we highly reccomend to this place to others.

A wealth of knowledge inside this building. You can buy fish, rats, birds and sometimes kittens or puppies. Best pet store in town. We have been going here my whole life (42yr).

This is the kind of small building that I am happy to support! They actually care for their animals, you can tell just by talking with them, they are chock full of great information and are so willing to help. I was clueless when it came to some glofish I bought (not even from them) and they were so happy to help and give me all the information and supplies I need plus support over the phone. Their owner has probably single handedly saved my poor fish and I am beyond grateful!!

I absolutely loved my experience at the City Zoo Pet Center! It was my very first time there, as well as myvery first time to Walla Walla, and I definitely enjoyed my trip! I came from the Tri-Cities, to adopt a few male Rat’s.. I used to raise Rats growing up in Ohio, and to have that experience again, is amazing… I love Rat’s, and just love animals in general! I was assisted at the City Zoo, by a very friendly Lady, at the front counter.. I didn’t get her name, but she was very nice, and polite, and made me feel welcomed! She took me back to where all the Ratties are kept, and had a very nice gentleman finish assisting me.. His name was Evan 🌹.. He was sooo sooo kind, and sweet, and you could tell that he had enormous passion, for all the critters that he cares for!! He was able to help me with exactly what I wanted… I wanted adult Male Rat’s, but he showed me some babies , and explained that it would be better to bond with some young ratties, and I couldn’t of agreed more! Rat’s grow very quick, so I’m not sure why I wanted adults… but I am sooo thankful for the young babies, that he showed me… I went to the City Zoo, in hopes of getting 3 male Rat’s, but I ended up leaving with 5 male Rat’s .. they were all housed together, and I just couldn’t take 3, and leave the other 2 behind… I just couldn’t do it… they were all soo adorable, and I just couldn’t pick & choose who to take home…..So now they all have a loving home with me!!! I again want to thank, City Zoo, for giving an amazing first impression, and being extremely kind to me! I didn’t get a chance to walk around the entire store, but I definitely will be coming back for sure!! and thank you again to, Evan!! He was soooo helpful, and kind, and just made me feel warm on the inside.. he definitely is a major asset to City Zoo! Give him a raise 😁! Thank you all again, I just can’t stop talking about my experience!! Have a beautiful end to your summer 🌹🌹🌹🐀🐀🐀

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and always has or can find an answer to your pet questions. We now only get our reptiles from city zoo. Two bearded dragons two ball pythons and two trantula plus a colony of dubia roaches.

Went for the fish. So many options, my daughter is working on setting up a tank. Helpful staff, ventilation could be better. Many options, good brands. We will return when it is time to populate the tank.

This place is a small tight knit pet store that also caters to exotic pets as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will for sure being checking it out agian.

Used to be one of my favorite places. Unfortunately, the previous owner retired. Now, they don't treat their employees very well at all and are unorganized and aromatically unpleasant. The staff is friendly, for the most part. It's hit and miss if you get someone who knows what they're talking about though, and at times you're lucky to get someone at all.Still better than Petco if you want a local source for your pet needs and the fish selection is pretty diverse. They are taking in a lot of rescue kittens who spend their days locked in an office until they get homes, which is great that they get taken in at all, but is not ideal. One kitten went to its new home with worms and another with a pretty well established flea infestation. Not isolated incidents I would guess, but the only two that I know of from my own personal experience.

Very friendly and knowledgeable. Helped us with everything needed to learn how to care for a small pond, made my daughter infinitely happy by letting her pet the snake, and even gave good recommendations for where to adopt a kitty when we're ready.

It's a small place but it's beautifully run, all the pets look happy and healthy and the workers are really friendly and knowledgeable. It's a little bit more expensive than your big brand store but I love supporting my local businesses. Also got this awesome betta at this place, i love her and she's doing awesome.

Small, family-owned business with a great array of items for cats, birds, dogs, and more! They even have a microchip scanner for assisting community members who find lost pets. Kelsey and David (owners) are responsive if you reach out to them, and clearly care about supporting owners and their pets. Visiting their store (near the highway/Albertson's area) is worth the trip when you want to #ShopSmall and help local businesses thrive!

I have worked in pet shops from the first job I ever had until I went to college (and one more pet shop gig after that) and then I became the next best thing, a wildlife biologist. City Zoo is THE quintessential Awesome "pet shop that has been around forever" kind of place. Yes, it is stuffed to the gills with merch and it's a bit cluttered but pet shop fanatics know these are the signs of a Great pet supply store! Not sure who the owner or manager is but so far, the employees are friendly, super knowledgeable and are happy to place special orders. I am a customer for life!

I shop here around 1 or 2 times a week for my amazing beardie they have been very helpful and recommended the best products. Aswell as giving full a refund when a uvb bulb broke within A month of purchase. I love shopping city zoo and always will.

I'm very disappointed to write this review. I've been shopping this store for 36 years (my family as well). I love shopping local. I have an elementary school classroom and we have a fish tank with frogs, fish and snails. I perchased a new filter system from City Zoo. The usual fish lady was with another customer so a kind man helped me. He showed me a few options then suggested the one I bought. I set up the filter and within the first hour it had sucked up and killed two of my fish and a frog. This was very upsetting to my class and myself. I called and the fish lady said unfortunately they are unable to offer an exchange, period.I feel I was possibly given a poor recommendation. Regardless, I was shocked and disappointed that they offered zero opportunities to fix the situation. She suggested that I buy a new one and I'll just eat the loss.This filter was $26. I'm now out a filter system, two fish and a frog. She did say she would pass on my information to the owner, but she had no clue when he would get back to me.*The receipt I was given does not offer their return policy in it.* I will update this review based on if I hear from the owner.

Staff was available, friendly, and very helpful. I'd had a less than favorable opinion of them years ago, but that has changed. I love their choices of items for both dogs and cats. Found the perfect raincoat for our new puppy. And a very, very nice cat tree we needed to replace in our house. The only thing I would like to see is their adoptable pets more towards the front of the store. There was the cutest puddle of kittens there but they were in an area of the store I might not have noticed if I hadn't walked around.Overall, I'm adding City Zoo to my regular pet store shopping! Great going, guys!!

Bought my 10-year-old a snake for her birthday so now I see the crew at city zoo on a weekly basis for feeder mice, always friendly and helpful. I love the fact that they help find homes for a variety of animals in need.

I always went to city zoo for all my pets needs, until they did me wrong . I returned something unused and he wouldn’t give me my money back, instead he insisted on store credit, after explaining to him that I don’t need anything from the pet store right now he told me he could only return a small percentage of the money I spent. He also did not include tax that I was charged when purchasing the item ...so in the end and after the ordeal I ended up spending over 100 dollars and was only returned 40 dollars....and keep in mind he kept the product that was returned...so I lost damn near 65-70 dollars!

City Zoo is where you go if you really love your pets, their roots are well established in Walla Walla with a nearly 50 year history of serving the towns pet needs! It's more than just a job for the staff, they concern themselves with your pets well being, by being knowledge animal lovers themselves.The other two "Wal-Mart of pet stores" in town will sell you dead feeder crickets/worms, or diseased fish.. but what else do you expect from a corporation that only cares about turning a profit?So if you're a local, or a true animal lover, you shop City Zoo for your pets needs!! 🌞
