We love Vista Park and probably camp here 2 or 3 times a year. Sites are nice and you get big ships close to the shore as that's where the deep water channel is.Bathrooms are clean and they will do anything to make your stay more enjoyable.Nearby activities: Close to Cathlamet and not too far from Astoria. The beach is really nice and clean.Noteworthy details: There are full hookups, water and electric hookups and also lots of tent sites. It's a lovely place to stay and it's just 90mins from Vancouver, WA and is a nice drive.

Vista park is right on the Columbia River in historic Skamokawa. Beautiful beach and the ships going by almost seem like they will touch the shore. The people that work there are so nice. Great places to ride bicycles as you can ride over to the game park on your bikes. The only negative is the goat head stickers in the grass. You can't walk barefooted in the grass and they stick to the bottom of your shoes so you have to scrape them off before you get in your RV. Wish they could spray for those. The beach is beautiful but beware when the ships go by it sucks the current out and it can be dangerous if your in the water. I think they should have a sign on the beach warning people of that.

Just spent one night there with my great grandson in a river view RV spot. It is a great place and the man who manages it is very nice and helpful. He helped me back my trailer in and helped with my water heater. It has a beautiful view of the river and the sunset and a very nice beach. The price was very reasonable and I had water and electric. The only thing wrong was the play area ground is covered with goat head stickers. It was very hard for my toddler grandson to play out there. You definitely need shoes on. No flip flops. He fell and was covered with stickers. I sure wish there was something they could do about it. If it weren’t for that, the place is nearly perfect.I would definitely go back again.

What a fabulous location with beautiful scenery. The check in was a breeze and the staff were kind. The view spaces by the river were exceptional viewing of the large ships traveling between the river and the ocean. Large open space for games and fun, a trail along with beach walking made this a beautiful location. Just 40 minutes from Cape Disappointment for a trail ride on the paved trail all the way to along Beach. It’s a five star all the way.

This is a very beautiful park! I love to go here to watch the sunset, fly kites, and fly my drone. The views of the Columbia River are awesome! Often you can watch the ships go down the river which is fun to see. Just stay away from the water when they do! The beach is fun to walk along, and if you want to hike a short hard trail, there is one. It's a bit muddy sometimes, and at one part you have to climb a rope to get up a steep hill. I wouldn't suggest taking it if you don't like to get dirty, aren't in shape, and aren't properly dressed for it. People can camp at the park here. I have not, but I've heard it's nice. The restrooms are pretty good. A few times I've come here, and the restrooms weren't very clean, but for the most part they do a good job at keeping them nice. There is nice play equipment for the kids. Just be careful when walking in the grassy areas - there are some very poky stickers out there.

Beautiful park.Probably the BEST spot on the Columbia to watch ships and boats as the dredged shipping channel is really close to the shore.Every vessel imaginable from barges to giant auto and ocean bound cargo ships can be seen. There is also a big sandy beach that's perfect for sunbathing and swimming. On a clear day, you can see as far as Tongue Point in Astoria.

My absolute favorite place to camp. We love staying in the yurts which easily accommodate our family of 6 plus our dog! Our favorite is yurt 5. Its a 20 foot yurt and has the most privacy! Amazing scenery. The river is beautiful and I love seeing the big ships. Check out the trail down to Pebble Beach!!

Nice county park with campground and day use area on the Columbia river. Good sized sandy beach with lots of room for the kids to play. The beach is very kid-friendly during the summer for water play and swimming. There are good kayaking opportunities accessible from this park.

Beautiful campground. It was very well kept, right on the river, but not windy. Restrooms if you need it. Camp hosts are very much around, ensuring this place stays nice and respectful, but they do not bother you or make you feel your being watched. We loved this place and are telling everyone we know and will definitely be back.

Vista park is absolutely gorgeous! I can't seem to get over the breathtaking views and they have everything you could want in a campground. Ive never stayed in the yurts but my daughter has and she just adored them!

The reviews are accurate. This is a very nice RV/Campground. The Hosts were super friendly and delivered our firewood. The bathrooms were very clean. Based on a previous review I was nervous our campsite would be out in the open, but we had a great spot, T3, under a canopy of trees, with views of big boats passing by. There is potable water, but you have to look for it/ask about it. We'll go back. The campsites are close together, but this didn't pose a problem for us. And sound travels very easily around the park - but everyone obeyed quiet hours. The best part is that the sandy beach was literally 40 ft away, being this close also made it a rather windy spot - so FYI, there's less windy sites closer in.

We love the space we have to easily back into our spot. Great view of the Columbia River. No sewer hook up at space but there is a dump station here in camp. Quiet lovely and clean. Not many trees for shade. But its raining and cool.

A bit on the windy side..... come prepared. Actually, it's not windy throughout the entire park but where it does blow, it really blows. It's a nice park with well placed shelters, clean bathrooms and showers. The campsites are varied, some exposed and others in the trees. The beach along the river has great sand and amazing ship viewing. Seriously, watching a skyscraper float by is really incredible. These ships are all shapes and sizes. There is a boat ramp for all types of watercraft for $5.00, campsite fee doesn't cover launch fee.

Family friendly park with decent boat launch, playground for kids, and minimal, but very clean restrooms. We enjoyed our kayak trip down the slough but high afternoon winds made the return strenuous exercise.

We like to stay at one of the sites up on the hill as you have decent privacy and a wind block. It was fair weekend in town so the park was a bit full and noisy, but that's to be expected on the fair weekend in the waning days of the summer. Most everyone quieted down for the evening at the expected quiet times as well.Sites aren't huge, but we brought our trailer and utilized the full hookups. Would recommend to others. Also pop down to the river and watch the ships go by, it's one of the things we love to do.

This last summer was the first time we have ever heard of this awesome little camping spot. It is a very nice park with a kind of private beach right on the Columbia. Our kids really enjoyed flying kites and waving at all the ships that go by! We will definitely be going back!

What a nice find! Friendly hosts let us explore this idyllic setting. There are all types of sites, from tent to full hook-up. Yurts and tepees are available for rent as well. Nicely maintained property and private beach on the river. Great place for family, or get-away time.

Excellent park. Enjoyed all the amenities and really ejoyed the shipping lanes on the Columbia River. Will most definitely return. It's a nugget. The Washington State Parks have priced themselves out of most retirees pockets so nice parks like this get our business for sure.

I took my 6mo old puppy here to walk, run & play in the sand. He loved it, except for when we walked back to the car, because they have Goathead all over in the grass that stuck into his paws. So I had to carry this medium sized puppy back to the car.

We visited at sunset on 6 March. The frogs were croaking loudly from the ponds, the gulls were saying good night to the day, a grain ship cruised past, leaving a noisy wake. I look forward to coming back for a long walk on the beach, and a picnic!
