We recently moved to Belfair and didn't realize how close to home this place is. Nice little find! Very good and different type of menu, making it a little difficult to decide on what to try .. in a good way. The only downside was that a few items were not available. Just means we'll need to visit again and again. Music, good. Staff, awesome. View, amazing. Food, pretty darn good! It's worth a visit.

Lunch for 2 couples, $150 total including 2 beers and a can of root beer. Positives: great view and pretty good deal on half Dungeness crab for $20 including a bonus claw, staff pleasant. Also had “Little Lillies” oysters (6 for $21) — good. Negative: the seafood chowder was too small, contents of bowl smaller than a normal cup and no discernible seafood, mainly potatoes and veggies. The flavor was good. Now that I see photos posted by others, we were shortchanged for sure, I guess they were running low and tried to sell 2 more bowls? My friend got a drop of it on his shirt and exclaimed “darn I got $1 of it on my shirt!” At the end I asked the nice server if they were cool to get feedback, she said sure we appreciate feedback (nice) and I mentioned we liked everything except the skimpy size of each of 2 bowls of seafood chowder. She was nice and said “there should have been 10 ounces” to which I replied we got mostly potatoes, maybe four ounces of liquid, and no visible seafood chunks. She said thanks for the feedback. Were it my restaurant, I would have offered more (no such offer made, maybe they were out as it was approaching closing time at 4:00 PM) or offered a refund (no such offer). So while altogether pleasant, kind of put us all off given the expensive lunch of $150.00. Now seeing other photos of full bowls of chowder with seafood, I feel even more shortchanged and a bit angry at the person’s lack of desire to make right an obvious shortchange. We also had the pulled pork sandwich which was just passable. They were out of stout beer and apparently clams too. Don’t think we will come back despite the pretty good food and good view, as there are 100s of better places to spend our money.Parking: No issues. Kind of hard to find this place as there is no sign visible from the road (thanks to the county disallowing a sign, therein creating higher probability of u-turns and thus accidents). A sign is visible once one parks near the canal.

This place is amazing. Had to take a moment right after going to make sure I wrote a review. Visiting from out of town and would seriously make the 2 1/2 hr drive just to eat here again. Amazing food! We got two of each type of oyster preparation that they offer. Raw, poached and two different types of charbroiled. They were the best oysters we’ve had and we’ve gone to a lot of different places. The Union City Boil was to die for! Even their side bread is outstanding. The staff is so nice and attentive. The scenery is beautiful. Saw tons of seals passing. Fisherman coming back in from getting their catch. There’s a market attached that also serves local beer, cider and wines. Highly recommend.

Attended the Canal Cookout, which is not to be missed! Excellent food and service by a staff who delights in what they create and the joy it brings to their diners. Spend the money, eat until the oysters run out.Parking: Parking in the lot was reserved for the event so not a problemWheelchair accessibility: The parking lot is level yet gravel. No incline to the paved dining space.

After a video on Instagram went viral for the restaurant, they started to receive way more traffic. Unfortunately, they are not set up for that kind of volume of people. We waited in line to order for 40 minutes and then waited an additional hour for our food after ordering. Bonkers, especially for how small their menu really is. They also ran out of menu items on a weekend after being open for only an hour and a half.Once we got our food, we were incredibly disappointed. One of the menu items were the fish tacos. Both tacos arrived with cold, raw fish. Completely raw fish. It was obvious they were rushing and under stress so sent out an unfinished dish. We kindly asked to be refunded for the fish dish since we didn’t eat it and they agreed but we left before we got a confirmation, because they were so busy.Overall, I would not recommend this place until they figure out how to run a restaurant. They have so much potential.

Love the place! Dog friendly. The oysters are one of the best we ever tried. The seafood boil was also amazing! Compared to these two, the bread dip & clam chowder were just okay. Also,’it took almost 40 mins to get our food, but the view made time fly faster

Unbelievable space. Very few things are more enjoyable than sitting on Hook and Fork's deck watching the seals play in front of the Olympic mountains and listening to the oysters sizzle on the grill. It's magical. The prices here are high, but the service is excellent, the oysters are divine, and the setting is wonderful. There is kayak parking on the beach. Go for a paddle and stop for an afternoon bite.

Took my wife here for Mother's Day Brunch, food was spectacular. The oysters in the half shell were fresh, wood fired and served with garlic butter and chives. Probably some of the best I have tasted. Eggs, biscuit and ham were fresh and cooked perfectly. Food is on point here.

Great local spot tucked away on Hood Canal! Ordered at the registers and found a sunny table right next to the water! Beer and ciders on tap or bottle. The Smash burger was a smash, then the clams arrived in their yummy broth, followed by grilled oysters. Check them out!

Really nice people who work here! Basically an outdoor restaurant on the water. We just got fresh and grilled oysters and enjoyed our time! The staff gave us recommendations for what to do in the area and were super friendly!

Hook & Fork has some of the best seafood and service I have ever experienced. The oysters were fresh, and so tasty, the garlic clams were delectable with an amazingly flavorful sauce. The staff was so genuiely friendly, down to earth and accomadating. The atmosphere was so cozy with firepits and a breath-taking view of Hood Canal. Make sure to stop by this hidden gem on your trip to Union!

Adorable cafe on the water, friendly staff and dog friendly apparently. However, the oysters were not washed properly. I got a bunch of sand for my first bite of the grilled oysters. That also didn't mention they had sauce on them. Flavor was there but the sand is my biggest pet peeve. They ask for a tip before service, also a pet peeve. And you have to get all your own sauces, dinnerware, and buss your dishes. Limited menu now. The sliders come with 2 dixi cup sized burgers and chips or a small salad, not your usual 3, which is not mentioned on the menu. Let's just say for $60 we expected more. Paying for atmosphere I guess.

This restaurant was phenomenal in every way: the staff, live music, oysters, and view. I was only passing through but would absolutely visit again if I had the opportunity.
