Most businesses nowadays seem to be trying to suck out your money using every trick possible, kinda like... apps that ask you for a tip at a drive-thru. I thought Mud Bay would be one of these, especially because it's such a nice-looking store.Well this one isn't! I found the prices to be decent, which was a relief. I was shopping for a dog that blackmails me into giving her treats when her owner is gone. (She's an Australian cattle dog, and she thinks I'm cattle.) So, out of resentment, I was trying to buy her treats without spending very much.First thing I found was a fake fur-trimmed doggie bed which would keep her warm. I went back and a clerk steered me toward calming treats, that would keep her off me, or in that bed. Neither one was unusually expensive, and let me tell you, I had no money to spare. To my delight, I also discovered they have treat-cookies by the pound (or ounce)! My first bag with a week's worth of treats (to supplement the "relaxing" treats) was under $2. The next 3 small bags totalled $7. I was not surprised her incisors grew as she gnawed the creepy ol' sheep lung thingies, but such is life when feeding a lil pwedatuh.All the clerks have been alert, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I avoid places where the clerks avoid eye contact as if in fear. This seems to be a place where they either know who to hire, or where they treat their employees well, or both. Good place.

Been picking up treats and toys for my pups since tumh2o store opened. Went in this week looking for 2 20' leads for my westies. I asked for some help looking for them and got lectured that a 20' lead is irresponsible for walking a dog and unsafe and leads that long are not stocked for safety reasons. Well this person needs to join me and the pups in the great outdoors! I have no problem keeping pups under control. I just walked away from employee shaking my head. After wondering around in store there were 20' leads hanging up for sale. Well after being lectured I did not purchase. Frustrating so Amazon order being placed.

Me and my boyfriend were shopping on the afternoon of 2/13 for our dog's birthday and were checking out with a cake mix when the cashier (Melinda P. per my receipt) proceeded to kindly ask us about our purchase and offer us a free gelato for our dog upon finding out we would be celebrating his birthday. We both thought it was so sweet and thoughtful and she really went above and beyond to provide great customer service! We have shopped at this location before and she ensured we will continue to return. Thank you again to Melinda!

Tumwater Mud Bay has exceptional service! I went in to get advice for my dog since we needed to change her diet. The staff went above and beyond and had such empathy for our situation.I went back a month later and the staff remembered who we were and inquired how Harlee was doing.I appreciate so much the care and advice I received from the staff. I've been a loyal Mud Bay customer at all locations for 10 years, but Tumwater will have my patronage for sure.

I choose Mud Bay over other pet stores because of the "Trader Joes" vibe - staff seem happy and friendly. They accepted a return of a bag of dog food when my dog had problems with it, so they're decent in that respect.

We bought pet food here for years before our dog went into heart failure. Numerous veterinary studies in the last ten years have linked ingredients in grain free dog foods to causing heart failure in dogs. Places like mud bay, in spite of the research, double down and continue to push these dog foods. I’m not saying don’t shop at mud bay but do your research before the “gourmet” and expensive food you’re giving your dogs nearly kills them. Thanks to Summit Veterinary referral center our girl is doing much better and nearly back to normal. But we shop at Petco now.

I came in with several questions today about my new pup, and I wound up working with Faith. Faith was the most kind, caring & understanding individual I have ran into in a store like this in such a long time. They made sure to go through all the details of why some products are safer than others, and helped me find everything I wanted & more :) Faith was extremely patient with me & was not bothered by my questions or need for help. Great service, and I will absolutely be returning for all my pet needs & questions :)

Great selection, cute displays, clean facility, and nice, helpful employees. I’ve been here a few times now; the first time I was looking for something to get my dog to eat because he was having some pain and refused to eat. The staff gave me some samples of treats and supplements I could add to his food to encourage him to eat. They gave me samples free of charge and gave me a new customer coupon. I was really thankful for their helpfulness.Now, I go here for toys, treats, and other supplements for my dog.I went in today and was looking at the cut little cat toy display, even though I don’t have a cat 😅 (see photo)

Love this store, my last visit I was looking for bowls to slow down eating and pumpkin powder, which I found on my own. No one greeted me when I came in. The person at the counter, never came out from behind the counter until I asked if there was more than one bowl . They didn't end up having two. So I bought the powder and left.

Wow!! This store is so cool!! This was my first time in a Mud Bay store and I was literally blown away by their selection. Tons of quality products for dogs and cats. I love getting freeze-dried and healthy treats and food that has human grade ingredients. Really cute sweaters and toys and supplies for all sizes. Plus, the store is clean and well organized.

I love Mud Bay! Ive talked to them, I know they look out for us. You're not going to get a dangerous item for your fur friend here. They are ALWAYS helpful and friendly. I've done business with multiple sites, always the same attitude. Jazz definitely approves

I met Lisa from the Tumwater store when I was in the airport traveling alone with my "special needs" cat and way too much luggage and I was very stressed out. She saw the carrier and asked about my cat and she was so friendly and understanding and helpful. I had never heard of Mud Bay because I had been living in another state. When I mentioned that I liked fostering animals and wanted to do volunteer work she told me about the organizations in the area that might interest me and she told me about Mud Bay and that there was a store in the area I was moving to. The travel experience was awful but talking with Lisa was a bright spot. She found me again in the baggage claim after the flight, again she was so kind, and when we parted she sincerely told me that if I ever needed assistance with my kitty to call her at the Tumwater store. What a wonderful representative for your company. I've since been to my local store, and read about your philosophy online, which perfectly matches my experience with Lisa. I am now all in with Mud Bay!!! P.S. Prices are great and I love knowing that anything I find in the store is going to be top notch and good for my animals.

The staff was super helpful and patient with me. They found the dog food by phone number since his daddy forgot the brand/type. They are always nice and happy. Love the store. Super clean. Excellent store for dog owners. They even carried the huge bag of dog food out to my car. 👍👍

Always a favourite. This company was one of the places I never stopped missing when I moved to the East Coast. I have yet to have a bad experience in any of their stores. Their employees are always super helpful, and have a wealth of information..and what they don't know, they will happily help you find answers to. Store is always clean and pleasant, and their selection has never disappointed. Nor will you be if you choose to spend your money here. 🐕💚🐈‍⬛

I always love going here. The employees are always so helpful and friendly. I asked if there were anymore birthday cakes for pups but they were out. But she did give me a little happy birthday bag with little treats and a toy for our pup! I was so happy!We will always come back for our pet needs.I hope that they'll have more doggy clothing options in the future.

A little pricey in comparison but the staff is super helpful and kind. They love animals here(even though I kind of don't like my dog, my wife made me get her) they helped me as a novice dog owner get situated and are great.

The guys working were super friendly to my dogs! I love when people aren't afraid to say hi even though they aren't small dogs. They don't care for humans anyways but still nice gesture! We got a bucket of the fresh treats and we'll be back for many refills. It was our dogs birthday and he kept snagging treats out of the buckets the lady didn't charge us for them so that was awesome!! Will definitely be back

5/26/22 Update: Stopped in for some bulk dog treats (so price effective!) and was told 'every day was Caturday' and they gave me an awesome stick-toy to test out on my cats! Would give this location and company 10 stars if I could.Original Review:Always friendly and kind, I visit somewhat often for the bulk dog treats! The staff will usually give testers of new treats too, they're very helpful and I love coming in.
