Fabulous park! It's all fixed up now with a children's playground and picnic tables! Absolutely gorgeous day today! October 30th, 2023

It's a nice and quiet place. The river is shallow and doesn't have a strong current, which is safe for kids to stay in. You do need swim shoes there, because the rocks are sharp and slippery. The view is beautiful and there's lots of picnic tables and shade under the birch trees.

Low cost and convenient to MtSt. Helen's National Monument. Right next to the Toutle River. A 2 minute walk to the river. Playground, water electric and dump. Has gas station nearby, no shopping nearby.

Came here today with lower columbia river fishing enhancement to plant over 1000 trees. Very nice spot it is so sad to see what this eruption has done.

This is a pretty scruffy park, apparently built on dredge spoils from the eruption of Mount Saint Helens. The river is beautiful and shallow enough for safe splashing for children in late summer, but the park itself is mostly sand with a few groves of trees here and there. There is not much shade in the late afternoon on the side of the river accessible from the park, so it was a tough place to have little ones on a hot day. Given its location I expected it to be more forested than it was.The thing that impressed me the least was finding at least three pieces of scrap metal, conduit, wire, etc protruding from the ground of the riverbank - one of which I caught my toe on. The last straw was coming upon the leg bones of a medium sized animal (a dog?) on our way back to the parking area.We probably won't be back.Folks visiting this Park should know that many of the access roads which allow parking closer to the river are soft sand and might not be passable without 4-wheel drive.

This is a wonderful little campground down on the Toutle River. We've been two years in a row and it never crowded. This year we booked two weeks before we went for the weekend with no issues. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it has vault toilets and no showers.

It's a nice little park. I stopped by to let my dog play in the water and caught a nice sunset. I'll be back.

Lovely small RV and tent park. Sites for RV with water and electric. Playgrounds for children. Shelter for family gatherings with BBQ facilities. If you want to make a reservation do it five days in advance. You can also FCFS.

A beautiful park. It's amazing to think this place was destroyed by Mount Saint Helen's and people took the time to make it into a beautiful park again.

Nice playground for toddlers and small children. Water along the river bank was shallow enough to splash in the day we were there.

Just had my 2yr old birthday party here and it turned out great. We had the party under the pavilion which had a sink and counter space for all the food and the playground was right next to us along with a mini basketball court and wheelchair accessible parking. The river was just a short walk away along with the restrooms but not to far. All in all it was a good party and I was totally impressed by how they fixed up this little run down park into a very nice campground.

Quiet, spacious and serene park and rv park on the beautiful Toutle River. This will be our next camping spot to try out! The area was more spread out and offered more privacy than most. The twists and bends of the river provide an endless beauty and area for exploration, fishing and family fun with daytime picnicking, trails and a full playground for the youngins! Can't wait to stay there and explore for our own!

$20 for Tent Camping site. Only 2-3 other sites in use on a Monday night. Fairly quiet at night. But maintenance came throu at 8am running weed wackers (they must not have a lawn mower because they weed wacked the entire tent camping area, very disruptive...not how I like to start my mornings. Due to that I won't be comming back to camp.

Drove up from Idaho, to drop my mom off in Castle Rock.I was looking for a place to camp and backslash or hang out by the river for the night. I was told about this place. Got here right before dark was able to see a bit, got some pictures and a semi decent look see.. I can literally pull down into a camp spot, feet from the river itself. There was/is absolutely nobody camping or even hanging out here. Beautiful, peaceful, I will definitely be adding this to my list of spots for an overnight or a weekend for sure.

So nice and quiet. Clean. Deer walking around at sunset every night we were there. Plenty of room between spaces, We were by the road but there isn't enough traffic to matter. Glad we stopped in.
