I enjoy shopping here when I'm in the area. I picked up a few things for Valentine's Day and didn't need to go anywhere else to shop! However, I noticed Google has this particular Safeway located in Tacoma instead of Lakewood. People unfamiliar with the areas could become confused when trying to find a Safeway within proximity.

Agree about the deli. They ignore you, continue to have a conversation while ignoring you and even just stand there waiting for you to greet them. More than once, after ignoring you, they just look at you without a word. Terrible customer service and incompetent to boot. Today we ordered delivery, and instead of jojos they gave us some really old dried out chicken pieces. Seriously?The label said jojo, but there was chicken in the bag. I can't eat chicken as I'm vegan, so it's a total waste. There are often mistakes when ordering delivery; it's a crapshoot if you'll get what you ordered. One time I ordered vegan ice cream and they subbed with dairy ice cream. Very disappointing.

I had a negative experience as a third-party contractor for this store. There was no clear point of contact, and I was mistakenly sent home early one night. This indicates a lack of organization. The store director, Linda, also hung up on me during a phone call, reflecting poor customer service practices.

Generally, clean and staff are always friendly. The store setup is odd for a 1st timer but once you understand the lay of the land it isn't that bad. Overall it's everything you could need from a grocery store. Also, their club card (free) saves you a lot of cash and accrues fuel points which will get you 10 cents off per gallon for every $100 spent.

Just experienced for the 100th time being racial profiled in this store. I was followed around the store & starred at by 3 different works but the last worker left from the SELF CHECK OUT AREA to come & put my bags in the court, as if she was helping me, only to ask me if I was going to pay for the things that I already paid for! I let her know they were paid for & ask if she wanted to check. When leaving I stopped to turn around & ask her name & she answered as if she was the one that was disrespected! True Karen behavior I tell ya! But the craziest part of ALL! Is if she was so concerned about someone stealing, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD SHE LEAVE A SELF CHECK OUT FULL OF PEOPLE TO COME & act as if she wanted to help me, just to accuse me of stealing! Oh oh I know why because everyone in self check out was white! So she probably felt comfortable with leaving them unattended, AS IF THEY DONT STEAL! Then, I go to leave and a nice Indian woman asked me if, that same lady was being racist to me because she is always extremely hateful & rude to her every time she comes in there & she deals with racism all the time at this store as well!

I really like this small Safeway. It’s layout is a lil different than the others but it’s got that small town feel to it and I really appreciate that. Because they are a bit smaller you can’t always find everything that you might need, so be prepared to maybe have to make another stop, for the most part they’ve got it or have something comparable. I can improvise on my shopping list a lil just because the atmosphere there is really comfortable.

I've had alot of issues with the Deli at this location. Terrible customer service/terrible food quality in the hot case. My main issue today was terrible customer service from William J that works in the Deli. He was nothing but disrespectful, rude, and a smart alec my entire experience with him to the point that I was getting frustrated the way I was being spoken to from William J.

This is going to be oddly specific, but it's what I rely on Safeway and will change if it does. The quality of their bagels has significantly diminished in the recent months. They used to have killer ones, now there's barely any cheese on them and mostly burnt off.

Busy holiday weekend, store was packed. Impressively clean and well stocked. Lines stayed short as more check stands were opened when needed. Staff warm and welcoming. Couldn't ask for more.

Workers need more help and higher wages as major profits seem very top-heavy based on demonstrated worker satisfaction.Almost always long lines and cranky workers. Pharmacy workers are most disagreeable and unhelpful. I miss Albertson's. Safeway always sucks.

Typical Safeway grocery store that tends to always be on the busier side. It's clean, offers one-stop-shopping for any typical foodstuff you might want. Good selection of turkeys during November. Clean and well-managed despite the high volume of customers. Closest full-size grocery store to Anderson Island.

It's a big store and can only imagine the challenges that they face every day. That being said. HIRE HUMAN CASHIERS. It is so frustrating every peak time to see one or two cashiers working with the line snaking out self check out. I come here multiple times a week, and this is the standard there.It's not for lack of trying for the cashiers. I rarely see them skipping a beat. I will say... and I say this to not get anyone in trouble. The deli area workers seem like they are in their own little universe sometimes. I've stood across from several workers and took time to attempt to lock eyes with them. Just for them not to ask if I have been helped. Customer service 101 "excuse me sir/ma'am have you been helped yet?"I hate their Safeway card. It has become such a crutch for them. It's obvious they upmark everything and then cut the price back to justify the cards existence. They have even started a rewards thing that is confusing as all hell. Need an app to use the rewards. So they are upcharging the comminity all to just make the price cheaper to promote the Safeway card, which is linked to your phone number, which is then linked to the app. And it seems shady what they are doing. Because most apps track data and sell it to third parties and I can only imagine what they are selling information wise.So I don't use the app! It's annoying. I just want fair prices and have a human being scan my items for me. Making me scan and bag my stuff is insane for the prices they charge.

Store is well stocked. Quick in and out with self checkout stations. Parking lot is adequate for store.. easy access also. Friendly assistance which is great. Great shopping experience overall.

Like all Safeways, this location is way too expensive for every day shopping. Usually only buy stuff when it's on sale, than the pricing is usually good, better than WM or Winco. Overall the employees are friendly and helpful, except for one very notable exception. I avoid her like the plague if I see her checking. BRING BACK THE HAND CARTS!!

Very clean store, shelves always will stop in the produce department glistens.As of late always had a great service at the deli department, last two visits, not so much. Yesterday I ordered the one entree two sides combo a breast a wing and for my two sides would be two sides of mashed potatoes and gravy. Sort of seems like I sparred with the kid( whom I did not recognize as I did not any of the other Deli workers yesterday)Here's what I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story... 🤮

This Safeway has an issue where it follows customers around the store to look in their bags. They accuse paying customers, who have receipts in their hands, of shoplifting.They are super friendly with Safeway Customer service that customer aervice will ignore the customer. If you are a woman you need to acoid bringing in a purse and always use a shopping cart or you will be followed and haraased. They will make radio reports on your wereabouts in store.

Ok for a grocery store. Expensive. Lacks a broad selection of groceries. Becoming more a a deli. Frustrating app to save $. Makes you feel like you are playing "mother may I". Have to watch my receipt and allow time to go to customer service to get corrections.

i find it funny that after racially motivated incidents occurred at this establishment they wanna play all this 90s rnb cookout music (mind u before they were afraid of looking racist it was back to back trailer park tunes) it radiates performative ally white savior energy wanna appeal to poc real bad. u ppl giving this place 5 star ratings are a lie. we know it’s y’all own employees tryna vouch for y’all give it up. nobody here has ever had a black or brown person inside their home and it shows. the lakewood towne center safeway runs laps over this one.

This store seriously should be put out of business all the employees are racist and always harass me and follow me around the store and give me dirty looks like something's wrong with me this has happened each time I have went here and they stop me after buying my items like I did something wrong they never done this to anyone white person only other racial people,i never feel comfortable and always feel overwhelmed and upset when I leave the store they no longer will get my business and I will no longer go to the store.and this store should be ashamed of what takes place here. So sad never again learn to love all.
