Just got done with the 10 session obedience training. Im totally amazed at how well my dog is responding to me now. When you sign up for the obedience training you get a book and man oh man that book is great! I learned a lot and how to keep my dog safe. And I truly enjoyed the training and learning the leash technique. There is a lot to it, but its all about communicating with you dog and being able to enjoy a well behaved pooch.

i'm leaving this review for my mom. She is so pleased and so grateful for Ron Pace. Ron Pace has helped my mom on and off for almost 11 years. He helped her train her dog when he was a puppy 11 years ago. He helped her with her invisible fence, helped her try out different collors that worked best for her Shiloh shepherd. And recently he helped her Shiloh learn to use ramps to get in and out of the car. Ron also had some great suggestions to help with arthritis and joint pain. He has been there when my mom needed him, and he always comes through for her and she said she appreciates him so much!

I’ve really enjoyed taking my new puppy to the puppy preschool here at canyon crest. Trainer Michelle did a great job being serious while also having fun, and my puppy got some great time socialist and learning basic manners. Definitely recommend and I look forward to another training session!

I’ve been a customer of Canyon Crest for over 20 years. I found the company when I did my research to install an invisible fence system and they came up as the local rep for the DogWatch Fence System, which is an amazing system. The customer support I’ve received from them to date, is excellent. I have also used their training service to put two dogs through their dog training program. I loved how the program was first, the one-on-one with just me and my dog and then how it moved into a group setting with other dogs. When I needed boarding for my dog Lucy, their facility was the only one I would even considered and the reason is because I trusted that they would truly take care of her. Ron and Patty Pace are wonderful owners of the company who are faithful to their customers and who really care about the well-being of animals. They provide top notch service, not only at the time of service, but well into the future. We need more business out there like Canyon Crest.

We absolutely loved this place, definitely recommend!. We used their boarding services for a couple of days while visiting relatives in the area. Krystal took such good care of our 9 month old German Shepherd, he was able to relax for a while during a very long road trip. Krystal took him for a walk and even got him to eat, which he hadn't been eating well since we had been on the road during our trip. We were able to see a few minutes of one of their training classes and she even gave us some great tips on training before we left.

I met Ron 10 years ago while training my first German Shepherd. I was very impressed observing classes at his facility.Recently Ron kindly agreed to evaluate a GSD that I wanted to adopt from the Humane Society and train for a service dog.I am very Thankful for his kindness, experience, knowledge as a dog trainer. I am the proud owner of a handsome GSD to train using Ron’s method “ Who’s the Boss “

So, I will say this was a great experience. I have a Husky and they are known as a hard bred to train. When all was completed, my Husky is doing great and following my commands and hand movements. I have even used them to board her when I went on vacation, I would highly recommend them for dog training.

I have a 1 year old Boxer that has been able to partake in almost all of Canyon Crest's wonderful programs. When our family first got Penelope we enrolled her in their Puppy training class. The class was great it taught us so much. And anytime we had any questions about things Penelope was doing at home ( jumping on our 3 year old son) we could ask any of the instructors and they would give helpful feedback. In the beginning of the class all the puppy's get to "socialize" with each other in a safe environment. My husband took her to the obedience training class when she was about 9 months old. It's really amazing that by just my husbands hand signals she will following his directions. After Penelope completed the Obedience training she gets to participate in a fun refresher class once a month on Saturdays. We have also boarded her there 3 or 4 times, once with late notice and Patti made arrangements to get her in. Penelope also gets to have play time once or twice a week at their Doggy Daycare. SHE LOVES IT, when I pick her up she's just pooped. And I know that she's safe and being well taken care of.Canyon Crest K-9 Center is one of a kind! The owners are great and their staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The center is always clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend them for your pup!

In December I finished basic obedience with my 7 month old German Shepherd. I've also taken another German Shepherd and an Australian Shepherd through the classes over the last 15 years. My dogs are well-behaved, happy and confident after the course. Not to mention I'm a much happier owner. I highly recommend Ron and the Ron Pace Method of training for any breed of dog. Because the classes are private (except for the group classes following the 10 private lessons) you get a lot of attention from Ron or his highly trained instructors. The facilities are extremely clean and I can't say enough about the love Ron has for dogs and their owners.

While positive training techniques are publicized they are not put into practice. You are encouraged to starve your dog to keep them food-oriented and then taught to hold them down on their back while biting them. I was honestly mortified after my experience and shocked that these archaic training practices were still in place.

Re: training my deaf pup.My experience(s) at Canyon Crest K-9 training center with Ron Pace and his staff have been nothing short of excellent. I have been working with Ron and Janet with my 7 month old Irish Terrier, Darby, on basic training complicated by the fact that Darby is deaf. Relying primarily on hand signals and a paging collar and utilizing Ron's training system Darby and I have established excellent communication and her training has progressed better than I had ever envisioned. Ron's basic training principles were ideally suited to training a deaf puppy and have given me a sense of confidence in my ability to continue her training as well as a great sense of relief knowing I can control my dog and keep her safe. I have worked with Ron 3 times since 1990 with 3 different dogs bearing vastly different personalities. I am convinced Ron and his staff can handle any dog related challenges (and most owner related challenges) with professionalism and humane compassion. I recommend Canyon Crest K-9 Training Center to anyone who loves their dog and wants to get the most out of their K-9 companion and themselves as a dog owner.

Doggy daycare is outstanding! A beautiful park like setting! After taking my dog through training at Canyon Crest K-9 Training Center I decided to give their doggy daycare a try. I would recommend this place to everyone. It is such a great feeling knowing and seeing my dog interact with dogs and staff. She feels so comfortable there. I really appreciate the synthetic turf that was used in the building. No concrete floors! I have checked out other daycare facilities and a lot or inside. I appreciate the fact that this daycare facility allows the dog to go inside or outside...they make the choice. Thank you Canyon Crest for an awesome daycare!

I have been taking my German Shepherd Marnie to training @ Canyon Crest K-9 Training Center for the last year and a half. She was very shy and timid when we purchased her from a breeder a couple of years ago. She has come a long way since I enrolled her in classes Canyon Crest. I am sure there are other good obedience training facilities around, but Ron and his trainers are in a class of their own. When I heard they were opening a doggy daycare there, I was really excited. Marnie was there on opening day and I have been taking her there on a regular basis ever since. Ron's whole center is beautiful!!! What's more important than that is that even the daycare is part of the training facility. The dogs there have to be evaluated before they are allowed to attend. Once there they have to behave and show good manners. I wouldn't dream of leaving Marnie anywhere else.

This place is awesome. My dog loves it here. The staff is very courteous and friendly (to people and their pooches), and their prices are reasonable. My dog has been to the daycare and stayed overnight at the kennels; we have never had an issue. Aaron (the owner) is a really nice guy. Try them out!

I grew up with dogs and I love dogs. I bet this is true of all dog owners. Like many things in life, there is never a short supply of people who will tell you how to do things the "right way." When it comes to dog training who really knows how to do it the right way, you with your limited experience or trainers who have worked 1000s of hours with 100s of dogs.We did the puppy preschool classes, and our pup learned a lot of great "tricks" and we learned some basic ways of communicating with our dog. I just finished to 10 private lessons over 4 weeks, and what I learned is how to tell my dog the correct way to behave in all situations. We have not mastered this yet by any means, but like all worthwhile tasks in life it is a continuous process. I cannot recommend this place more highly for all pet owners. Having a dog is a big responsibility, and their behavior is a direct response to how you allow them to act. When dogs are poorly behaved, they are stressed, and its because they live in a human world and have not been given the proper guidance on how to behave. This place is incredible. Janet and Kelly did our puppy class and they were incredible. My dog loves both of them. Kelly did our 10 private sessions. The training was as much for me as it was my dog. My dog behaved perfectly anytime Kelly had her on leash. When I work with her, it is not perfect because I am learning to tell her what to do.I have called this place often and have always gotten a call back when I left a message. I called once and Ron and I talked for 30 minutes.I feel very strongly that this is the best investment you could make in your new dog.

I took a puppy class recently and liked tbe women instructor and liked the fact that puppies had time to play with other puppy and we learned training skills. Last week a man taught the class and I didnt see all that happen but I did see him hanging a puppy by its neck 1/2 foot off ground for long periods of time. It made my 15 year old daughter cry in car. I wish I would have stopped this behavior. I will not be coming back for last class. I also do not like that the next above class is a obedient class that they use choke collars. I have a beagle and find this not ok.

Ron, Patti and the entire training staff are the most knowledgeable and effective training team I've ever encountered. My first GSD had aggression issues & Ron's expertise literally saved my dog from being put down. We're now training our 2nd GSD & their methods are revealing amazing results already!

The trainers here are so helpful and informative! My dog loved coming into be trained and was even excited to see the trainers, if that isn't a sign that these people are true genuine dog lovers then I don't know what is! My dog is the most well behaved little lady now, thank you so much Canyon Crest!

A must for dog owners who want the most of their relationship with their dogs, want their dog to be the happiest and / or a dog that has some challenges to help him / her be its best and fit into a humans world, The training is a language the dog understands with focus to train the owner. My dog, a black lab love this place. She begins wagging her tail and making little noises as we leave I5. I simple love Ron's focus on the very best for each dog (and really mine!)!

Did Ron, change his training method from 19 years ago? Because from what I recall his methods were anything but positive. In fact, they were abusive. If his methods were the only known way to train a dog, I wouldn't train. Results are not worth or a justification for the methods utilized. Now, on the other hand, in spite of the fact that I didn't believe I'd ever step foot on his property again, if he's evolved and perhaps progressed in his techniques I'd accept an invitation to witness this for myself and depending on what I see I'd even be willing to update this rating.

These folks were punctual, respectful, diligent, knowledgeable, helpful, and most importantly they were effective. Several years later I am still reaping the rewards from my experience with these people through my dog Titan. And I will take my next dog there as well.

Multiple Concerns. Please be wary when using this facility. The owner obviously does not like any questions and is unsure how to treat customers professionally.I am honestly glad I found out sooner as there were other reviews online regarding customer service and how the dogs are treated.
