Beautifully appointed bar and bistro inside of Skamania Lodge. Very friendly service. Had the John Jacobs Manhattan. It was delicious! The fish tacos and bison chili were also great.

Great customer service. Good food.I read the reviews and was kind of wondering if we should even go here, but the outdoor view and the monopoly pushed me towards it.So there are two restaurants at the lodge; the cascade dining room which is seated and a little more upscale, then the river rock room which has a bar and different menu. This review is on the Cascade dining room.Called to book a res about a week and a half out. The girl accepting was new (she told me this) she seemed confused when booking and when I had to change times due to competing events, but when we arrived to the property it was in there (and able to be changed again) so good.Mrs Jewell the hostess was super nice and professional. She greeted us, was welcoming and was super nice to our son. Her side job is basically to tell guests that walk up that it's going to be an hour wait or so (without a res, on a full house, on a Saturday night mind you), at least that's what I observed, lol. She is awesome. She seated us, was super nice to our son and remembered my sons name as we left. Pretty cool.John was our server. He had a wide coverage area this night, but checked on us and our son constantly. Made good wine pairing recommendations, knew the menu, provided a small to-go box for leftovers when asked. Overall he was a super nice guy and great at his job. All of the staff, not even working our area was super nice. To include the waves from the line cooks on the way out as they have an open view kitchen (very cool). We tried a small sampling of the steelhead chowder. Was pretty good. I regret not trying the bison chili, lol.She had the prime rib, I had a bone in porterhouse pork chop. Both cooked and seasoned well (other reviews must of caught them on a bad night I guess). The beef was rare as requested (again other reviews), standard au jus and horseradish. Paired with a fresh potato mash and a few asparagus sticks. A really good dish. The pork chop was thick and cooked well, paired with grilled micro carrots and sautéed onions. With a smear of a bourbon reduction that tied the dish together. I would have liked to see a starch on this dish. They modified some apples from the kids menu for us so we could feed our boy, super cool of the cook staff.Given inflation, price for supplies, the lack of servers/cooks in the current service industry and the monopoly that they have on the lodge guests; food prices were fair and servings were adequate. The wine was ok, local stuff. Kind of high priced. We tried both red and white. Took some back to the room.I wanted to drop a review because everyone was so nice to our young son and to us. The food was good, the views are awesome and you can take booze back to your room, lol. Try to make reservations if you know you're staying at the lodge over the weekend. Thanks to all.

The food here is amazing. The lemon pepper wings and smoked nachos are delicious. But you can't go wrong with the burgers and pizza either...some of the best in town! A little pricey, but there are definitely ways to eat here without spending an arm and a leg because of the variety. Did I mention the view of the Columbia River?! Breathtaking.

This place sure is beautiful, everywhere you look there is beauty, the inside of the restaurant looks amazing, lodge style. The exterior is even better, you get to eat out in front of nature. I wish I was able to express the same feeling about the food and the service, but is not the case. The food was not cook properly, no flavor either, the Prime rib was truly disappointing, two of us did not eat the prime rib steak it ended up in the trash. I feel sad saying this because I love prime rib, the cook or chef needs a better handle on their cooking. The Pizza was one of the worst we have eaten. Customer service that evening was far from good service. The following morning was completely different and much better. There is 15% tip added to your total, not sure why since they are not providing a service of catering to us at the table, we are only buying the food. Everyone eating outside had to clean their table and trash their leftovers and run back inside to get your own refills. To us, our party, we are accustom to leave 15% to 30% base on the service and food.

Xmas day....couldn't do the Christmas buffet since they weren't taking any more reservations & mngr. said no for 1person. Ended up next door to River Rock where it sucked as well. The steelhead they boast about was out. The pizza sucked like it was frozen. Overall racists establishment. At least the tore the check up & I just gave a good tip to the waitress. Too bad I didn't eat more but appetite for destruction blew up. If you're a hipster...you'll probably like this place.

Was a nice change of pace after a long trail. Really great quality. Very clean! The staff was absolutely amazing and management. They were able to handle everything anything that I needed help with. Destiny was an absolute gem at the hotel service counter. Would recommend having a meal or I'm taking some time to enjoy all of what the hotel offers!!(The view included)

Food is pretty good. Atmosphere is warm and cozy, the nice TVs play sports games. Service is on the slow side.

Pizza was great the 1st night but needed to be cooked longer. Friends had it tonight and also said it needed to be cooked longer but otherwise great. Burger & beer $20 special was not so great. Beer was awesome but burger was average at best. The only reason I gave service 4 stars was because they were obviously understaffed the 2nd night The server did her best with tons of tables but had a hard time getting back to us. The 1st night we were there I had a new server who was being trained still but was on her own for the 1st time and she did great.

I can't believe how awesome this place is. We moved into the neighborhood about 6 months ago, but this was our first visit to Skamania Lodge and Red Rock. We both ordered the steelhead tacos and they were the best fish tacos we've ever had. I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

We went here for drinks at the bar while we were at Skamania Lodge. I have to give 5 stars for their excellent customer service. I came here with the girls first while in the afternoon while we were waiting for our husbands/fiances/boyfriends to be done with their meeting. We didn't order any food since we had to wait for the guys for dinner. One of my friends and I ordered off from the non alcoholic beverages while the other 2 ordered an alcoholic beverage. I ordered the lavender lemonade, and it was honestly delicious. We also came here again after we had dinner in town. The bartender was really nice. We also had another group who was sitting at the bar karaoking. This place closed at 10, but they let us stay there until 11 before everyone got kicked out. Good times.

We had a company appreciation trip to the Skamania Lodge and we had a nice casual dinner and drinks Friday night, which was perfect after a day of travel. Trevor, our server was very attentive. Food was delicious. The only negative was they didn't open until 2 p.m. and on a couple of our days we would have liked to eat lunch there.

The food here is awesome. Had the steelhead and vegetables. All of the appetizers were amazing. Desert was good and for drinks I recommend the huckleberry lemon drop martini. Lots of good wine and beer. Service was great and the view of the Columbia river gorge was gorgeous too.

My wife and I stayed for one night. The room was very clean everything was in place and fine, we had a nice large viewing window out toward the golf course and that was exquisite. but ordinarily the room is $280 a night and with our little dog in tow and the extra cost of said dog being $70... Well do the math., and that was on a Wednesday. So I'm sure there are plenty of rooms for less than $280, my wife made the reservation so I didn't even check, but I can tell you that you should be aware of which rooms NOT to get. When you call to make a reservation be sure and ask to not be close to the pool, it's very noisy and it's open pretty late. There's some other rooms you probably need to avoid too, so you may want to Buddy up to the reservation clerk and see if she can put you in a good place. Because if you get a room next to the pool, by the time it gets filled up with kids it's really noisy..The employees were very kind, and very helpful, & hospitable. I thought the food was quite good. it was well prepared and served promptly and with a cheerful attitude. The only problem was between breakfast and dinner, for two of us- $185, and we did not have any wine or drinks, so make no doubt about it, it is pretty pricey place, at least it is to us regular old down home folk.. The dining area is very nice but when it gets full it gets noisy. The Giant redwood beamed ceilings and a huge Stone fireplace as you walk through the massive front doors, makes the lodge feel warm and welcoming. So even if you're just driving by, you really should drop on in to have some hot coffee and wander around the Lodge and incredibly well kept landscape.. So I would still recommend you try it out ...Use coupons! . But they're showers are incredible! lots and lots of hot water, a great shower head and very clean tiled shower enclosure with glass sliding doors... I thought it was pretty classy!

Five stars for Chris and her great service. Three for the food. Been going for a few years and as the pricing goes up the portions go down. At some point they need to figure out their value proposition so that customers feel it’s a reciprocal exchange. The view from the outdoor sitting was awesome.

Super nice servers and good food. Had a burger and pizza and both were good. Their holiday drinks were also yummy. Would return again :)

Good food but definitely overpriced, would recommend driving to town (5 min) and eating there instead. If you must make sure you eat out in the open area, the views are pretty nice. Staff is very sweet. I had the Skamania burger and bourbon chocolate torte, the torte had a very small portion size but the burger was decent.

I arrived at about 1045 and was told that if my 2nd person didn't get there quickly we would have to wait for turnover from Sunday Brunch Buffet to A la carte LunchWell that was not clear so hurried in and there was slim pickings on the Buffet. The staff might have realized it so they began bringing out more replenishment food but the wait for that was over 20 minutes and I think they ended up eating their words (not food) and pushing back Lunch openingI also overheard ahead of me the hostess arguing woth a group that was supposed to be there for a bridal am brunch and said that they were too dull and they should have come earlierNow that might be true but the presentation was a bit "off". Luckily the group of 8 plus did not argue .... but clearly there a mix up again in what was either advertised and what was real. The food selection (once refilled) was good, and the mimosas at least made the wait pleasant.Parking: Lots in area above building

Sort yourselves.Epically beautiful venue...one would think a little lunch would be in order. First we read the sign outside that said wait to be seated. Ok. Nobody showed up. So we went inside. "We want to sit out at that table, please", which was next to the other tables, on the other side of the door. One of two tables, identical to all the others, but on the other side of the door."Well there is no service at that table, but you can order from the bar", we were told.Okay. I took 2 menus and two rolls of silverware and went back to the table to form our order.A few minutes wait at the bar, with a pleasant smile on my face and a menu and credit card in hand, I greet the bartender and tell him I'd like to order for outside. He tells me to find the waitress outside. "Well we are at THAT table...on the other side of the door".Expressionlessly, he points to the top of the paper menu and says, "Call the To Go number". I'm thinking, paper bag full of paper boxes when I'm literally sitting on the restaurant's patio and the people literally one table over is being waited on?So I say there must be some confusion because the hostess (and also the bus guy) told me to order from you. So we get into who specifically...wanting me to point etc, and I shrug my shoulders and say, "I don't really care whats going on with who makes those decisions, I just want to order some food".Call the number on the menu.Went down to the town of Skamania and had a super reuben sammie and great service.Sadly, this is the third time in a row that we've driven all the way out there for a meal and been treated like absolute cr*p. No worries, you won't have to deal with us again. Too bad.

The service was fantastic! I love that our server made food recommendations as soon as we sat down. He mentioned the angus burger and tacos. So we got some apps (by the way the salmons chowder is incredible), drinks, and did in fact order the angus burger and steelhead tacos. They were SO GOOD. we took them home as left overs and even had them warmed up the next day and they were just as good. HIGHLY recommend.

Played golf... impressive course. Tees to greens provided lots of options depending on next shot. Greens were undulating and tested your ability to match your line and pace of your putts. Beautiful scenery with Mt. Hood and Mt. Baker overlooking the course.

Dinner at River Rock 2 weeks ago, to celebrate a birthday. Arrived 6:00, about 20 min. later waitress passing by said "I'll bring you menus in a minute". 15 min later waiter took order.Soup, salad, and appetizer arrived (soup bland but filling). Brussel sprouts app was great. A while later the waitress came by and asked "may I interest you in dessert?" and seemed flummoxed when we told her we were waiting for our main dish.Dishes finally arrived, steelhead tacos were delicious. Stroganoff was bland, meat tender but little flavor - so overpriced but a BD treat which turned out not to be. After a long while the waiter came by, we asked for boxes and the check. We never saw him again so after waiting and not seeing either server again, emptied our wallets on the table and got out. An hour and 40 min. spent NOT celebrating. We enjoyed this restaurant in the past, it’s a great location and view - but doubt we’ll be going again.

The absolute worst meal I've had in quite some time (especially for the high price). I ordered the veggie burger, which was some kind of low quality old school frozen soy patty....complete with fake grill marks. The bun was doughy, and overall the sandwich lacked any kind of flavor. The fries were cold and dry. My friend had the bison burger and said it was overcooked and tasteless. What a big disappointment.

The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice but I have yet to be impressed with the food. It always lacks flavor and is overpriced for what you get. The drinks and desserts are the only items that I have been happy with.

Good service on a busy, hectic night. Their cocktails are great, and bartender knowledge is fantastic - able to recommend drinks to patrons based on obscure palate/taste preferences
