Okay people, I have been reading reviews criticizing the lodge. If you are coming here looking for luxury and to be pampered, you should stay in Chelan. Stehekin is purposely laid back, quiet, and meant for those who enjoy and seek the outdoors. We had a great stay at the lodge. I would definitely recommend paying for a balcony room; they face the lake and it is great to have your own space. The room was clean and sufficient. We brought our own food because the dining room has limited options. But, you could eat there too. The rooms did not have a fridge but you know what? Who cares? If you make the effort to get to Stehekin, focus on the beauty, the activities, and time away from the stresses of life. Do that, and you will have a great time.

We stayed in alpine room queen bed for 1 night. This lodge is right next to lady of the lake ferry landing. Room was clean and comfortable. Room had no AC but standing fan was provided. There is no TV and microwave in the room. Our room was right next to shared sun room where you have a great view of Lake Chelan, microwave is available in this room. Wish there were few board games provided in this room along with the magazines. We had several meals in restaurant for lunch and dinner, food is good, little pricey but there is no other option in this area other than pastry company which is 2 miles far and valley ranch - 9 miles far where dinner reservation is required.Kayak and canoe rentals are provided. Hotel staff is very friendly. Discovery bike rentals, shuttle stops for blue bus - valley ranch and red bus - rainbow falls are few steps from this lodge. Would recommend this lodge to anyone who is planning to visit Stehekin.

You cannot beat this place! The Lodge has so many options of accommodations, from BASIC hotel-like rooms with a deck and view to small log cabins to bigger spaces that can hold multiple families. With there only being so many spots on the ferries to get to and fro, there's a limited amount of people that are even in the area at any given time, which helps to make it the perfect place to escape life and stress. There's no cell service and no tvs, so you will have to take advantage of the outdoor options and good company that you grace, but it's so worth it. You'll definitely want to rent a bike (I recommend the electric bikes from Lady of the Lake bikes) and take a few hours to explore the road and all the gifts it has to offer along the way (a pastry shop, gorgeous bridges, amazing waterfall, gardens, history, kayaking, fishing, breathtaking views, etc). You can visit for a day, but it'll be a packed day so I recommend at least staying overnight (we love to take the early ferry up and back). There are a few different food options for dinner: (You HAVE to make reservations at the Ranch for the buffet, so don't forget! there's no same-day reservations as they're always sold out), the lodge has a restaurant as well that serves basic food choices like burgers, salads and chicken strips, but the chef who works the weekends for breakfast makes an AMAZING meal! The Pastry Shop has TO-DIE-FOR cinnamon rolls; don't wait to come back and get them later. Everyone in Stehekin is so nice and helpful. We will definitely be back!

I came here for the first time with my girlfriend, and we are excited to come back again, and we will be making this a regular destination for us to visit. The 1.5 hour long ferry ride was comfortable, with beautiful views along the way. The price of the room was fair for what we received. This is absolutely not a luxury hotel. The rooms are outdated, no tv, no microwave, no A/C (a box fan was provided)… but who cares. The room was clean, the staff was friendly. I have zero concerns or complaints about our stay. The town of Stehekin is an amazing place to getaway and relax. Everybody is friendly. If you plan to just stay around town, It’s worth staying for 2 days. There’s enough things to explore that are within 2-4 miles of the hotel, and I would highly recommend taking advantage of the bike rentals. There’s a small restaurant right next to the lodge, and a small general store. A couple miles away is an amazing bakery that I highly recommend to stop in for breakfast. Most of the shops have brochures with a map that has the locations of popular places to visit. If you plan on exploring the hiking trails and other outdoor activities, I would recommend staying a full week. This area is beautiful and well kept. Great place to visit for all age groups, and families. I highly recommendRooms: Clean, but outdated. No microwave or t.v.Recommend asking for a room with a view ahead of time.Walkability: You can’t bring your car to Stehekin, but all the shops/ tourist destinations are in walking distance, most within 2-4 miles of the lodge. Bike rentals are available near the lodge and they have electric bikes.Food & drinks: There’s a restaurant next door, and a bakery 2 miles away. I recommend to bring easy to make food (ex. sandwiches, chips… there is no microwave in the rooms. There is a mini fridge) just in case since options to dine out is very limited.

The location of the lodge is amazing , the rooms have a view of a lake which is unbeatable. The rooms are plain and clean. The issue in this place is the food. Rooms has no kitchen, and the food is cafeteria is horrible, I was not able to eat anything there. Not only it is horrible it’s very expensive too. I understand that they don’t have any competition at this place , but still if you sell food that is worse than is MCdonalds why do I need to pay so much for it ?

Horrible hotel; claims to be a 3-star hotel; in fact it is less than 2-star. Room very basic, extremely noisy (during the night mechanical loud sounds were keeping us awake); very hot (during the night something was warming up the room to unconvenient high temeratures). Bathroom very basic and small. Booked very early a room: asked for a king/queen size bedroom (found out that they had plenty of them), but got a room with two small too short beds. Personnel was not very friendly. Restaurant is a very expensive unhealthy fast-food one. Finally: Stehekin is a wonderfull beautiful place. Just don’t stay and eat at the lodge!!Rooms: Very basic, extremely noisy and unconfortably hot, horrible beds; very small bathroomNearby activities: Beautiful area for hikinh, cycling and probably more. Visit the Visiting Center: very useful information and very friendlyFood & drinks: Avoid the restaurant at the Lodge (expensive unhealthy fastfood)

Most of the staff are trying but they are very short staffed and not well trained. The manager was very nice, The room was beautiful but not well cleaned (dirty coffee pot, shower had caked on soap and floor and window sills dirty) and it was sweltering hot with no air conditioning. We did not sleep at all. Restaurant was closed, which we did not know ahead of time, and the closest place to get food was 2 miles away. The first day there we rented bikes, which was very fun, (expensive for all of us) but the next day we ate pop tarts and worked with the ferry to leave early. We should have saved the money on the hotel and just gone for the day.

Very clean lodge, fresh clean air as soon as you step out, and great outdoor activities such as bike riding, kayaking, and hiking just a walk away from the lodge. There's bakery and vegetable/fruit garden within 5 min biking distance. The only issue was lack of internet and phone services, but then again, you go here to enjoy the nature.I suggest bringing walkie-talkie to stay in touch in case you want to do different activities from the rest of the group.

I stayed at the lodge Friday and Saturday June 24-25, 2022, which was about a week before they expected big crowds. The location is fabulous and the scenery is some of the best in the world. In the evening and early morning I had the entire area almost to myself. Phenomenal experience. Only problem is that the lodge restaurant was closed. I had packed light and did not bring food. I had no advance notification that restaurant was closed. Store had extensive snack food. The bakery which was awesome is 2 miles away by walking or renting a bike. Stehekin Valley Ranch offered limited places for dinner or lunch but was booked when I arrived and is a 3 1/2 time sink to ride the bus there and back. If the restaurant was open, this would be the best National Park Lodge in the system.

Loved our stay here, this was our final stop for our road trip around WA. The area is so beautiful and peaceful. The rooms all have lake and mountain views, the restaurant was open for 3 meals a day, the food was decent considering how isolated the lodge is, and they have a little general store, but make sure you bring your own beer and wine if you can as they ran out of a lot of beer/wine when we got there and had very limited options. There's lot's of hiking around, climb up the surrounding mountains, you can paddlle around the lake, take a dip, bike around, see the waterfalls, and go to the lovely nearby bakery in the village for lunch.

The dining room was closed, we expected it to be open for lunch and dinner during our 3 day stay, Aug. 19-21, 2022. The resort had problems earlier in the season with unexpected dining room closings due to staffing (info obtained from posted reviews). Unfortunately we were NOT informed about the dining room being closed for the remainder of the season prior to our arrival. I blame the management company in charge of the the reservations for the lodge, they should have notified us of the dining room closure for the season. The remaining staff at the resort were polite and helpful even though the resort was understaffed. The bakery is 2 miles away for breakfast and lunch, $5 bus ride (each way). The ranch is available for dinner with a reservation, 9 miles away, $10 bus fee charged.

Stayed here for a long weekend recently with my wife. We got a gift card for our wedding. It was a great time! The rooms are standard national parks lodge, but our room was nice and big with a balcony that looked at the water, so that was very nice. They room was also very clean and the bed was comfortable. The weekend we were there it was very hot, so the room without AC was hot, but it is what it is.We also ate several meals here for breakfast and dinner. They had a captive audience since the only other dinner place in the area (the ranch) was not really open other than to their guests. The prices were high, but not insane and the portion sizes were very decent and tasted good. Do breakfast I would probably recommend going to the bakery (2mi hike/bike each way), but dinner here was decent. If I were to come back to Stehekin I would consider staying/eating here again.

We stayed at historic cabin 15 for 4 nights. The cabin is very clean with great view of the mountains and the lake. There’s a coffee maker, no refrigerator. The cabin can be toasty in the afternoon; it’s comfortable once we opened the front and back doors and a breeze went through.

EXCELLENT Hospitality/guest services. My daughter (4yrs) got sick on the boat and had thrown up on me twice. We had mentioned that she wasn't feeling very well to the staff at check in, but didn't want to elaborate. Once we were settled into our room, we got a knock on the door by a staff member offering to wash our soiled garments. I was so impressed at their "above and beyond" service. There were 4 different women who were just lovely and did every thing to make our stay enjoyable. It was well worth the 3 hour boat ride with a sick 4yr old to be greeted by such friendly people. This place is just breath taking! The views are spectacular and the community members in Stehekin are wonderful. Looking forward to returning soon!

Amazing views! No roads lead here but the boat ride on the Lady of the Lake is reasonably priced and enjoyable. The peace and quiet at the lodge are unparalleled. I wish we would have stayed more than 1 night. The attached restaurant was tasty and not to expensive. All the staff were polite and helpful. I want to come back even though we just left. No internet or cell or TV. It's an oasis away from technology. Rent some bikes or just relax on the deck and soak in the view.

Nice place for a couple of days! The menu for the restaurant seems limited, but everything was cooked perfectly! Rustic Charm! Plenty of tee-shirts & hats, candy for kids. Room was small but clean however some lights didn't work and towels & sheets were rough.

Such a lovely space filled with outdoor adventures and scenic views of the North Cascades. The access to hiking here is phenomenal and the town is incredibly remote and peaceful. You have to work to get here - and the beauty of this place makes it worthwhile.

This lodge is one of the few accommodation options in Stehekin. Despite its remote location and very limited access to outside world it is a comfortable and clean resort with a restaurant and store. One can find most of the necessities and you will be easily distracted by the peaceful location, friendly and helpful staff and gorgeous nature. There are no phones in Stehekin but resort offers WiFi with limited speed.

The folks are very helpful and friendly. The Lodge is lovely. If you visit, be aware, they roll up the sidewalks pretty early! Bring a good book to read in the evening. Great getaway!

Beautiful place. Great people. Good food. The lodge is wonderful. Camping is great. Hiking is the best. This is a pretty special and unique place! The vegetables all tasted home grown, I couldn't get enough of them.

Friendly, decent rooms, great views. The staff did smoke outside the kitchen which caused some smell in the rooms. The restaurant had well flavored food, but somewhat limited vegetarian selection.

What a wonderful treat in such an isolated location (take Chelan Seaplane or the Lady of the Lake to get there, unless you like long rugged hikes). No matter what the weather was like in the wilderness, it was so nice to head back to the lodge for another comfortable evening. Thank you so much!

Being in Stehekin is amazing, but you are much better off renting one of the private cabins that come with a car and a kitchen for about the same price. There was no fridge, lodge charged for ice, food at lodge was not good (so try to get a place with a kitchen and bring your own and supplement with food from the Bakery which is amazing).

Did not stay at the lodge, but did eat dinner and breakfast. Both were very good. The store is clean and organized. Plenty of food for a PCT resupply. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Loved the people, the lodge, and most of all the scenery. It can be hot in the summer with almost no air conditioning but by bedtime it is cooling off. Great hiking all over the area.
