CRAFTSMAN TOOLS OWNERS BEWARE!I have been a very loyal customer of the Stanwood Ace for many years, dating back to when they were located at what is now the Dollar Store. I have bought both of my STIHL brand products there as well as many many other items. Well unfortunately I'm skeptical to ever give them my business again after my interaction today.I went in to return an older Craftsman wrench under a lifetime warranty. The person who helped me claimed she couldn't exchange it because she couldn't find a match in stock, even though there was a newer version of the same 3/8" socket wrench hanging there in the store. This newer wrench of course had a different part number than mine, probably because my wrench was made back in 2008 and Craftsman has made several different versions and part numbers of the 3/8" drive socket wrench since then.Naturally I was frustrated and questioned her reasoning and she kept telling me it was Crafsman's policy to exchange the broken item for the exact same new item. This excuse/policy is flawed because they obviously change the look and design of their tools often, it's not like I was trying to exchange needle nose pliers for a tool chest. I tried to reason with her again and got the same answer along with her suggesting I call Craftsman or try another Craftsman dealer.So that's what I did. I went to Lowes in Smokey Point and found the same wrench that ACE had in their store, the same exact one that the ACE employee said she couldn't warranty. I went to the exchange register and had ZERO problems exchanging this wrench.So please be aware if you plan on buying Craftsman products from the Stanwood Ace you might be denied your lifetime warranty for a replacement.

Customer service at the Stanwood Ace Hardware is noteworthy. I was looking for a specific brand of deck stain and although they didn’t carry it, they actually called Sherwin Williams for me to see if they did. I’ve had other, similar experiences there. They truly understand what exceptional customer service means and demonstrate it on a daily basis. They’re fun people too!

Review is for Mt Vernon but for some reason shows as StanwoodHometown hardware store: Friendly and welcoming staff; I appreciated the helpful advice while making a decision on outdoor brooms and enjoyed shooting the breeze while having keys cut — and, they have an awesome cat named Smudge who hangs out at the registers, eagerly awaiting your loving scratches! Great place to go for your household/hardware needs.

Love the people and prices.We used to shop the bigger stores when living in Skagit county, but after moving to Stanwood, we started shopping at Ace, and now we are Ace people for life.In the Stanwood store where we have been shopping, the people are very friendly as well as knowledgeable about products.We never have to roam around a big store and never get any help..

These people are so rude, if I could give negative ratings I would. I had went to Ace Hardware to pick up some mineral spirits and when I walked inside with a family friend, the people there were behaving really oddly, for example one of the associates with staring at my purse and standing really close to me, well a couple of the other associates were staring at me down the aisle. After I found what I had planned to purchase I turned to go to the cash register and there is a police officer in front of me asking me to leave the store that they don't want me shopping there anymore. I was a bit confused because I have never been in that store in my life. The associates in the store apparently thought that I had been in there previously and was shoplifting from them. I was horrified and very offended that they would so outwardly embarrass me on nothing but an assumption. The police officer explained to them that I was not the one that they were thinking was shoplifting. That it was most definitely a different person that was not me. So, I chose to not purchase anything and buy the mineral spirits at Benjamin Moore downtown Stanwood. My friend whose family spends a lot of money there every year has now chose to not patronize Ace hardware any longer. It's very unfortunate that the unprofessionalism that I was met with has caused them to lose some very good customers. Hopefully, the owners will rethink who they have in their management positions because if they continue to treat people like this they will have no customers. I know I would not recommend shopping at this store to anybody. You will be met with snarky associates that could quite possibly be calling the police on you because they think you're somebody else and that you're stealing from them. I completely understand that these things happen but, they should have been a little more professional about it and not embarrass me in front of other patrons in the store. They could have pulled me aside and asked me questions where I wouldn't be embarrassed because I left that place completely humiliated.

We ordered an Ego lawn mower for pickup. It didn't arrive when we needed it. But, Crystal helped us get another one and did all the leg work. Everyone that has helped us has been great. Special kudos to Crystal!! We will definitely go back.

I went here to get supplies for an outdoor plumbing project. I fixed a sewer drain and did a few other things. I was pleased and surprised that they had everything I needed. I did not have to go to Home Depot or Lows for anything. Very nice people work here too.

3 stars reflects a lack of lumber and inventory. For the most part, they're a decent grab and go location, but I find they're pricey and can lack options. This isn't a reflection of these guys/gals working here in particular, the staff is super friendly and accommodating. One thing though, as a millennial, I actually don't like being asked what I'm searching for. I'd rather wander and find it! Now, I understand it's good customer service, so I appreciate it, but being asked 6 times in 6 minutes is a little excessive. All in all, helpful and good quality, but I only use it in a pinch for the above reasons.

Great place to for personal assistance. My questions are answered and they usually have whatever I need in stock. The pricing is fair and reasonable. They have been under new ownership for a while and the shopping experience has improved by a magnitude over the old ownership! Highly recommended!

Not the biggest, but definitely one of the friendliest hardware stores. They always say hello when you walk into the store! They have a decent selection of products in the store & very willing to help you order what they don't have there. No face masks required at this point.

I usually shop here no problem but this time I needed to run a charge using my debit and asked to confirm before they run the charge. No option for debit. I asked to talk to the manager. He wasnt helpful and had a bit of attitude. I asked him if they could but a note on the card machine saying only credit. To help us customers out. His response was cold, indifferent, and condescending.

This store was great when they opened, but for about the last 1 1/2 years they have about 30% of the shelfs stocked. The owner keeps saying bear with us it will get better. More than not I walk out with nothing because they don't have it or not more than one of them. They always want to order them for me, I could just order on the internet if I had the time to wait. Wish they would get it together.
