If we were able to leave a negative star we would. We should never have attempted to leave our puppies there again. Retired military and we have been to/used a number of kennels around the world. Yes, we are completely culpable and truly regret subjecting our puppies to their business the second time but we assumed our pups were simply stressed from a new environment and our departure, therefore, we felt they did not eat the first time we left them there hence their emaciated state upon our return the first time. The second time was even worse! Both of our puppies (actually 6-years old) were lethargic, severely dehydrated, and now have non stop diarrhea since they came back. We will never trust them with our puppies again! If you care about the welfare of your dogs, please find somewhere else to house them. Take your time to look beyond the advertised heated floors and into the kennels and truly assess the cleanliness and “state” of the business prior to leaving your loved ones there. Please learn from our unfortunate mistakes.

After a ton of recommendations to Dave at StoneFox Kennels, we had our dog stay with them during our travels. Dave and his team did a phenomenal job! Our dog was happy, well-taken care of and clean when I picked him up. They offer a military discount as well! I’m thankful to have found this gem and will definitely use them in the future. 5/5 stars and highly recommended!

I cannot recommend Stone Fox Kennels enough! When we got our German Shepherd back after his 10 day stay, he was happy, calm, and had clearly been very well taken care of. Our dog gets nervous when we board him, but the staff at Stone Fox were able to work with him and help him relax. We had a bad experience with a different local kennel when we boarded our dog previously, so we were pretty cautious going into boarding this time. We are so grateful to Stone Fox and will not use any other kennel for boarding from now on!

Our pup had a great time boarding for two days! We've only had her a couple months and are working through anxiety and leveling out a medication, so she can be shy and particular about treats. She had never been to a boarding facility before but she was comfortable when we went in, made friends with the gentleman who checked us in and went back with him no problem! When we picked her up she was a happy girl with her tail wagging. I'm beyond pleased to have a facility that made her feel comfortable and confident! Highly recommend!

I just had my dog boarded there for two nights. My puppy is super shy and gets very scared around people. When we arrived my dog was of course avoiding the worker and hiding behind me. When I picked him up two days later my dog was happily wagging his tail and licking the worker. I don't know the staff member's name but he is incredibly nice and obviously is amazing with dogs!

About a year ago now, my family and I had a medical emergency and needed to drive to Seattle ASAP and could NOT bring our animals because of the accommodations we were given last minute.At first, I made the choice to take my two dogs and two cats to West Wind Kennels right up the street. Please do not take your pets to this facility to "save money". The receptionists were rude and uncaring about my abrupt situation and urgent need for boarding though they had the space. While I was waiting to be helped, the groomers in the room next door to reception were being way too rough with an uncooperative dog. I used to be a pet groomer, you do not treat animals that way.I didn't realize until after my dogs were booked that their living space would be so very minimal, with no outside time unless I paid extra for it. They were put in a 3x3 box and given a 4x3 indoor run. The only time it seemed they would have human contact was feeding time, again unless you paid an extra amount for a measly 15 minutes of outdoor play time.My collie has separation anxiety, so he yells when he's in a new place and can't see me. I had dropped off my animals and was on my way out when the older gentleman that worked there I heard him screaming at my dog to shut up and heard thudding which I could only assume he was kicking the box my dog was in. (Please see their website for the pictures of what their place looks like.) That would not settle at all and I got a very BAD feeling on the way out.WIth that feeling, I called Dave at StoneFox Kennels, explained the situation. He was friendly, open, and more than fine and ready to take my animals while taking in my situation as best he could. I told him I had to see the place. Their rooms are more than spacious, the place colorful and bright and play/outdoor time is several times a day and included. The moment I finished the tour, I went back to West Wind Kennels to rescue them from that depressing place.My two 50 lb dogs had enough room to play together in their rooms verses the little space at WW. The fences and play area outside, as well as the rest of facility, smelled clean and well taken care of.My cats were given the cat room to themselves! And they had LOADS of room and things to climb.All four animals had to stay upwards of two weeks at this facility and I am so glad that I made the choice to switch. I was reunited with very happy, clean babies that I am thoroughly convinced would not be the case had we had to stay elsewhere. We even see Dave on our walks sometimes, they're still SO happy to see him (they're not all that friendly towards strangers, so it's a big deal!)StoneFox is slightly more expensive than WW but I'm telling you it's SO worth it. Dave really does care about your animals. He also offers military rates.5/5 stars

Beware! They do not care for your dogs the way they say they will. Our pup stayed with them for a week. I called twice to check on him and they assured me he was eating and doing good. I talked to them at least 3 times to also have him groomed during his stay. When we picked him up he was not groomed. They said he was un-groomable. Really? He loves getting groomed and has NEVER had an issue with any grooming. Did I mention he's 14 pounds. Funny I've never had a groomer have any issue with him. That was disappointing. But, he also came home matted, dirty and with a UTI. When we called the kennel they then admitted that he didn't really eat or drink much. The vet confirmed the lack of fluids was a big cause of the UTI. (Which he's never had in his life until staying here). His bed was soaked because they said he peed on it - again - this has never happened before. The kennels seem dirty and their limited hours are an issue - especially when they won't answer the phone off hours. Super disappointed in the whole experience. We expect a boarding facility will actually care for the animals...they did not.

We had a great experience. Our two small dogs stayed in one of the medium rooms for two nights during a weekend. Everything looked super clean. The staff was really nice and they welcomed us in to see where our dogs would be staying which was great. When we picked them up, they were happy as clams and had plenty of food and water plus clean blankets and a clean room. Also we were able to pick them up on Sunday which was really convenient and saved us from paying for an extra night.

I had scheduled my dog for a 2 day stay, thinking, I was going to spend 2 days in the hospital. It turned out that, I was released the same day. There scheduled is 8-11 and 3-6. I tried calling, there was no answer,. I arrived at 5:00 pm and they were closed, so I had to make another trip in the next morning, to pick up my dog. They told he had made a mess on his bed in the kennel. He had no water and I do believe he was not left out to go the night ne messed his bed ,so, I was not real happy with them.

I had to share my first experience with the groomer at Whispering Oaks. He is absolutely fantastic! My dogs came out looking gorgeous. But that's not the best part, they came out happy! I have a judgmental poodle who hates getting groomed. She usually shakes for at least 24-48 hours after being groomed. Not this time, She came out happy and is currently bouncing around the house. Highly recommend

As any dog owner would be, I was very concerned bringing my dog to a new kennel, but Dave made us feel very good and comfortable about her stay. He was happy to show us the kennel she'd be staying in, and he showed us the dog run area for her to use the bathroom. The kennels are very nice, clean, and cozy. My dog is also very insecure and defensive about her food and space. Dave overcame those challenges with her, and continued the effort to make her feel welcome. She also had an accident on her bed and blanket, and Dave made sure to wash her bedding for her. I absolutely recommend this kennel, and we will be bringing our dog back in the future.

Dave at StoneFox is the BEST.He has gone above and beyond to make StoneFox a safe and reliable space for boarded animals, and in the time since he took over (the space was previously known as Whisper Oak Pet Boarding), he's made it into a top notch boarding facility in the greater Spokane area.We've been taking our pup here for three years (since before Dave took over), and Dave has been there since the beginning. We have a 9yo lab mix that has pretty severe anxiety, and Dave has gone out of his way to make her feel safe. She loves it at StoneFox, and she gets so excited every time when we pull up. She can't wait to get in to see Dave, and every time he meets her with a hug. It's so clear to us how much time and effort he puts into making each animal feel safe; our dog shows us every single time we take her there through her behavior.I would recommend StoneFox to anyone looking to board their animal, and I can't say enough great things about Dave and the company he's building. We are so thankful that we found StoneFox!

Long story short: No one was there when we arrived to drop our dogs off at a time that had been discussed. No one answered the phone nor was there a way to leave a message and no one answered the doors. My husband had to rebook his flight and zig zag across the country to meet up with us so he could find last minute arrangements for our dogs. When Dave finally reached out later in the evening to see if we were still bringing our dogs, I reminded him of our arrangement and his response was he “forgot”. The “forgetfulness” caused a great deal of stress and chaos for our family not to mention the additional expense of last minute changes. We chose this kennel for the close proximity to the airport, as I’m sure others do as well, and I would think the owners would realize that and understand that when people plan travel, it is time sensitive. Planes don’t wait for you because the business you selected to watch your dogs “forgot”.

I have been taking my yellow lab to Whisper Oak since 2009 and have had nothing but excellent customer service. My dog gets excited when I drop him off to stay and he has stayed at Whisper Oak's on multiple occasions for extended periods of time (weeks). He has always come home happy when I pick him up. If you want your family member watched by owners that will treat them like they were your own then Whisper Oaks is the place to go. This is the only place I would recommend to my friends and family and I travel from Hayden, ID to drop my dog off at Whisper Oaks because of the excellent care they give my pet while I am away.

If you're going to be in the Spokane WA area traveling with a fur baby this is the place to go for boarding and grooming. The staff are all friendly, helpful and experienced and the kennels are clean and comfortable with plenty of places for exercise and a change of scenery both indoors and out. The rates are reasonable and the care top quality. All around good experience.

I have had the opportunity to use the services offered by Whisper Oak many times over the past several years. These would include grooming (which can be a challenge as my dogs are larger, one about 80LBS and the other about 100LBS and very active), also boarding for up to 3 weeks at a time. They were always healthy, in good spirits and clean when they were picked up and they were always happy to see Janette when they were dropped off. I have always found them to be professional and very helpful and even though there has been times I have been there when things were very busy and hectic, I have always noticed that they take the time necessary to work with each individuals needs and seem to stay upbeat and friendly. I have recommended them to several people and have never heard anything negative about the service or care they received. Whenever the need arises I will continue to use there services.Herb

It's time someone cleared up a grave injustice to the owners of Whisper Oak Pet Boarding LLC. It has been proven by Better Business Bureau that a local competitor posted the pictures of the mistreated dog to give Whisper Oak Pet Boarding LLC a bad reputation. That competitor has been dealt with for their misdeeds and I personally will never take my dog to that kennel again. As for Whisper Oak Pet Boarding LLC, I have taken my dog there exclusively for the past year. They treat him like a king. He loves going there. The groomer is exceptional. My dog has long hair and she very patiently combs him out every time she grooms him. A bath consists of bathing, nails, and trimming feet, butt and face, all at no extra charge. In addition, their prices are extremely reasonable - much less than other groomers and boarders in our area. I can't say enough good things about this business and I recommend them to all me friends.

I own three labradors and I travel on a very frequent basis. I searched the Spokane area for not only the best location but a kennel that would give my very active dogs the attention that they need. Whisper Oak kennels offers many services beyond just boarding, you can pay a little extra and get play/exercise time that my labradors require. Janette is very helpful and very flexible to work with! Not only is the location of this kennel perfect, near the Spokane International Airport, but it has great outdoor runs and my active dogs need on a daily basis. I would recommend Whisper Oak Kennels to anyone looking for friendly service, clean facility and staff who really care about your pet!

One of our dogs that we checked in requires medication twice a day to control his debilitating seizures. When we checked both of our dogs in we were clear about how much medicine and how often to give it to him. My husband put just enough pills in the bottle (that ALSO has dosage and directions) to last the entire time we were gone. On the way home he had a really bad seizure which prompted me to check the pill bottle... he got maybe 1 days worth of medicine in the 5 days we were gone. Not happy, we now have to go spend money at the vet to redraw blood and measure the levels of his blood. We also measured out enough food to have 2 extra cups leftover but received a gallon bag and a half back. We will absolutely not be back.

This was our first time boarding our dog. The place was very clean. The owner was very friendly and answered all my questions. My dog came back clean and happy. We'll definitely be coming back.

I have heard just some of the most horrible stories about this place. Where people have left there 2 dogs to go out of town and come back to one of the dogs with the most tremendous wounds on it legs and it turn out it was never let out of the cage and had lost over half it's weight from no food and so on and so on. Which resulted in this perfectly healthy dog dying. Do not take your pets here if you really care about your pets

We love a Whisper Oak Pet Resort and so does our fur baby Luke. Due to a death in the famuly. We have had to take Luke there several times in the last two months. Each time he is excited to see them and they are excited to see him. I highly recommend them.

Took my dog Luna to Whisper Oak for the Memorial Day weekend and was impressed with place. The staff were friendly and the kennels were really clean. It is set up like a hotel for dogs. We will be back.

I do not recommend this place. My lab was very stressed at this place. It is dirty and broken down. They said I could bring my dog bed and toys but when I picked up my dog they got the stuff from the back room and they didn't even have the bed in the run. I will not go back.
