The family loves it here. We visit once a month to stock up on food and toys. They also have cages, stands, and treats. They also sell babies, or you might get lucky and get to adopt an older bird.

Abuse. Not a single bird had clean water. A cage had 3 birds and ZERO perches (April 2024). Birds were clinging to the sides, trying to find a comfortable position while under constant foot strain. No veggies/fruit. Baby birds were constantly bobbing their heads, asking for food out of hunger. Really disappointed in how BAD this store has gotten. Sparky has thrown his birds at the sides of their cages, thrown them on the floor, squeezed them until they die. Look it up, there's articles on it. Lawsuits. THIS IS A BIRD PRISON. SPARKY DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF HIS BIRDS. HE NEGLECTS AND ABUSES THEM. EVEN THE BABY BIRDS.

It's the only bird store i know in Spokane and they are very helpful. They helped me find a vet, helped me find food, supplements and toys for my Lovebird. I also board him there if I have to leave. They have been very good to us for the last 9 years. I highly recommend them.

Absolutely wonderful store. Went in looking to find our first bird. The staff were so knowledgeable and kind. They let us take as much time as we needed to handle all the different available conures they had and we’re so patient when we couldn’t decide between two. They even helped us pick out everything we needed to set up our cage and get his habitat going. I’m so happy with the bird we found. He’s been adoringly nicknamed our “green-chicken” and has bonded to us so quickly. We absolutely adore our bird and would recommend Sparky’s to anyone looking to add to their bird family.

Sparky's has some of the best customer service that I have experienced. Shawna, Autumn and Alexis are absolutely amazing and they love the birds that they work with. They have gone above and beyond to help us with our little flock and I greatly appreciate them all.

Don’t ever take your bird here. If you love your animal avoid this place at all cost. I took my blue and gold there to have her beak trimmed and she died that night. I’ve owned her for 27 years. I’m beyond devastated.

My husband and I have been stopping in, off and on at Sparky’s for years now. Mostly just to visit the birds and to get more tid bits of education on these feisty feathered friends from Sparky. Lots of an arrangement of toys and good foods for any size bird(minus the ostrich, don’t know about that one). If you’ve never been there before and you first go in, these guys aren’t what you would call a typical pet store(petco etc). So most of the time you will have to go to them if you have a question, they are probably busy with a bird or two or answering someone else’s questions. But they are really nice and have loads of info. just try to be patient and they will get to you. The reason I did not give them a 5 is only for that reason. I do feel even if they are busy they should a least acknowledge the customers a little more.

I met a breeder through this location that led to the adoption of my conure Benny. The inventory is good, the pre-mixed food blends really assist in cutting down chop-time and the staff is super friendly.I went in shortly after losing a rescue pigeon and described what I was looking for, I was educated on the best bird for me, made to feel much better about wing clipping and was forwarded to the breeder I eventually got my bird from. I'm super happy I went through them and a breeder so I could come interact with my baby prior to bringing it home. He's a real character and I doubt he'd ever had been as social if I'd gotten him from somewhere else.Prices are good, and variety is in general much better than other non-specialty pet stores.

Took my son that lives woth Autism in because of his new interests in birds. Both son and I had no experience with birds. The staff was not only most helpful and knowledgeable, but also knowledgable with children and autistic behaviors and animal's. They understood noise sensitivity issues and took time to slowly introduce my son handling a bird. 2nd trip in. My son handled a loud squawking bird and 1 week later we homed that bird.

This place is wonderful!If you can this place is worth a side trip if you're from out of town and love animals. It won't take long, traffic is very minimal compared to other spots in the city, and it's great for a quick fun stop!The staff are friendly, they go out of their way to care for customers, I didn't even see one dirty cage, and all the animals are happy and most are friendly. The staff are all knowledgeable and care a lot about the birds and the people, they will be honest for the sake of both.It's a great place to stop with kids as well, just be aware that children must understand how and when of respecting animals. For thier own safety and the birds. My own little one is 7 and she loved the visit, and it was fun and educational for her.Disability such as wheelchairs are a little more challenging. If you cannot transfer or get out of your chair it would be very hard to impossible to go inside unless you are prepared. The entrance is the door in the back and it does have 4 steps. They are wide and deep though, and the staff was fast and careful helping me down them.Inside was a bit tight as well, but I could browse the whole store in my wheelchair, though a bigger one would be limited.Either way the visit was worth this small inconvenience, though larger and less mobile handicaps might find it frustrating if not prepared.Overall the experience and the people were wonderful enough that it would still get six stars if I could!

I bought my Amazon parrot from sparky’s bird store about 16 years ago. I never had any issues they trim her nails and beak about every 6 weeks I drop her off and go have lunch. She loves it thereAnd so do IThanks sparky

Sparky's was great. We dropped off our daughters bird for about 10 days while we were on vacation. They took good care of him and had a nice area where they kept birds. They answered all our questions and he seemed great when we picked him up. I'm sure we will use them again.

I got my sun conure, Chili and his cage, food, toys and accessories at Sparky's. Everyone was so friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. My bird came home already hand tame and very healthy. This is a great place for those interested in tropical birds.

Without Sparkys id be lost. Whenever i have a question i can count on finding an answer here. Wide variety of anything ive ever needed for my birds at all price ranges. Plus people bring in all kinds of different birds to socialize with humans and other birds. Sparky is very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. I love coming here.

From Tampa, Florida to Spokane... I've moved around quite a bit and this is hands down, THE best bird store I've ever been in. The owner and his employees are so friendly and so excited about what they do. They take great care of their birds, have a wide selection of bird food, cages, toys, perches, etc. I haven't enjoyed Spokane very much (what Floridian would) but this bird store has been one of the best things I've gotten to explore in this city. I bring my daughter in once a week and they encourage us to continue stopping by to help socialize the birds. Awesome store.. I'm thankful to have them in the city we've moved to.

Excellent place to go. I have had totally positive experiences since moving here 4 years ago. I have bought 2 birds, cages and toys. The owner really cares and is very helpful. We are now up to 5 birds from here and still have only positive experiences here. They care for the birds they sell and are so nice in general. Highly recommend
