Great spot to shop for your furry friend. The staff is polite, friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you may have. They have a great selection of pet food, treats and toys but you may be underwhelmed by their other offerings as they have a limited selection of collars/leashes, dog bowls, etc. They do, however, carry Pendleton accessories if you want to spoil your pet with a bed, mat or blanket. Their entrance is right next to the separate entrance for the Domino’s plaza so make sure you pull into the correct parking lot when you arrive.

I cannot say enough great things about Prairie Dog! The cutest store, the most amazing staff, an incredible variety of products, and an extremely generous rewards program! They treat their two- AND four-legged customers really, really damn well and that’s what keeps me going back. The big pet stores can’t hold a candle to Prairie Dog!

Fantastic store and very knowledgeable staff, my dog has food allergies and Alexandra helped me pick out a fantastic food, Charlie use to be on Northwest Naturals frozen raw but we switched him to Steves and he is doing fantastic. Come to find out Alexandra is also a licensed pet trainer in the state of Washington so if you have a problem with your dog don't hesitate to ask her what might work.

We went in to see what this pet store carried for our current pup and future puppy and we were pleasantly surprised! Everything is competitively priced and there are some toys and treats you won’t find at your commercial pet store. Staff was polite and helpful, and the store itself was clean and well organized. We can’t wait to go back!

The staff here is incredible!!! I was blown away with the customer service and so happy to see so many high quality brands!!! I had to leave Canada last minute due to a family medical emergency and to get some sanity I found this gem cause we all know there’s nothing better than retail therapy for our dogs!!! I have been here multiple times! The store is clean and fun, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful, and they have anything you could need. They have fun toys, slow feeders, harnesses, collars, training tools, animal CBD, food, and beds. Overall it is my favorite pet store in Spokane.

Simply the best pet store in the area!We recently moved here from an area saturated with a variety of pet stores and I was a bit nervous I wouldn’t be able to find the high quality dog and cat food we’ve grown accustom to but PDog did not disappoint one bit!They have high quality dry food, treats, raw food, toys galore, healthy supplements, grooming products… they really have it all.To top it off, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

Love this small business pet store!!! They have a wide variety of dog and cat food!! Plus their staff know the differences in each and can help you with your choices. They also have pet toys, treats, supplies and an extensive collection of different dog dog treats/chews (ex. pig ears, Bully sticks, hoofs, bones). My animals are so much healthier after switching their food to the better quality stuff found here. Worth it!!! Great store! One gentleman even helped carry a large bag of food out to my car for me.

Wide variety of quality dog and cat foods. Lots of wholesome and natural treats. Nice selection of toys for dogs as well as cats. Helpful advice too from the staff working there. I prefer to buy my Orijen and Acana here because they have a rewards program, earning a free bag after buying 10. Plus it keeps my money local!

This is a tricky one. I have been going to Prairie Dog for years now. The staff is always, for the most part, very friendly and helpful. I love the products they have and I love the education you can get there if you ask. It is never pushed on you. You leave well informed and tons of treaties for your pet. This aside, when I went in for my dog's food, they had not ordered any. Ordinarily, this would not be an issue, but for a full time college student while working full time, it is something that needs to budgeted for and time set a side to get his dog food. I do not like waiting until the last minute to get his food, but it was just the way my schedule worked out this time. I am not sure if the issue was they simply forgot to order it or it was never on the list to be ordered in the first place, but I feel like if there is a client who buys a particular brand and flavor, then there should always be more then just a couple of bags on the shelve for this very reason. The solution to all of this, buy a smaller bag at a discount. Like I said, I am a college student, I do not always have the resources to buy extra bags of dog food, when they should be always keeping some on had or the shipment should be coming in the next day, 2 at the most, not 5 days to a week out. They did put his food on this list, an obsolete point that that time, but there was no follow up on whether or not his food came in at all. I feel like after all this, my confidence with them is shaken. I don't feel like I have to confirm that my dog's food will always be there, especially since I have been going there for so long and they know me and my dog by name. I feel like they should have a firm understanding of what their clients feed their pets and to make sure that there is always multiples on the shelves, especially if you know your client is using that flavor. But maybe I missed something.

Awesome selection on food and treats you won't find at the average store. They carry my dog's favorite food, Orijen Regional Red, which also carries a very high positive rating from Dog Food Advisor! The staff at Prairie Dog Pet Mercantile are very friendly and love to see you in with your dog.
