Some of the employees are nice and helpful. Others shove their policies down your throat with no regard to good customer service. I had a bad experience recently where the management refused to sell me an item after asking multiple times if they had them in their back room. The item was priced already at $50 which they said might not be their tag and they told me to come back the next morning (to waste my time and gas) to find out they changed the tag to $90 because I was really interested in it. Also when I asked the manager to just price the item while I was there to expedite the whole process, she threatened to ban me from the store for a year for being too pushy. Sometimes I'll come there and find good prices. Sometimes everything's outrageously priced and you have to keep coming back to wait for it to be discounted. It just seems like whoever is in charge of pricing stuff has no idea what the actual value is. And then when they get an idea that it's worth something, they price it as much as it would cost new. I used to shop there two to three times a week and drop $100 a trip. Now I might stop in once a month if at all. All in all they have really slow sale tag changes and have outrageous prices.

Today I went to this store on my way to the casino I wore my casino hat to play cards and I wore another hat for after the casino I planed on leaving one in the truck. I forgot to take one off. I was in the store with both hats on when I went to leave I was asked to pay for one of my hats I told them what happened but they did not believe me now I am barred from shopping there they call themselves christians I’m glad I wasn’t wearing a tshirt under my shirt they probably would have wanted me to pay for that too.

This place is awesome, they have a really good selection of furniture and misc items for decorating a house or apartment. Clothing is on the cheaper end of thrift stores I've seen in Spokane, but still good quality. Wasn't a fan of the selection for men's clothes but my girlfriend found a lot of gems for herself so I still rate it five stars. I will come back in the future to shop for furniture.

I absolutely love it here!!! Great customer service, great Prices. It's Clean and Organized. When they're doing sales they give you the best price and help make it so you get what you need and or want with what you have. They are so Friendly and that's not the case at some places now days so it's enjoyable to shop here.

NW “Christian” “Thrift” yah right!! I am an avid collector & thrifter & this place’s prices are HIGH. If you want to be an antique store call yourself an antique store. Thrift stores sell used items for used prices, this store is dishonest in their pricing and sales tactics which is why I don’t go there much. Do some research on what you’re looking at, you’ll see it’s priced at retail or higher.

Not very Christian for a Christian labeled thrift store. The prices are outrageous and they refuse to take any less. If you're here for good deals, you're better off going to North Monroe Street where you're actually supporting small businesses who don't price gouge.

I generally do not write a negative review even after a negative experience, because everybody has a bad day. However, I was so appalled by the way my mother and I were treated that I felt compelled to post. My mom and I were cleaning out my grandma's storage for her. She had 2 upholstered sofas from the 80's that to me were hideous, but my mom was convinced that because they were in flawless condition a thrift store would want them. After a debate we called goodwill, who declined because they were fabric. They suggested NW Christian Thrift would take them. Not wanting to drive that far of a distance if they did not in fact want them, I called first. I gave a full description of the sofas, the gal on the phone said yes bring them in. When I arrived a young man walked out to greet us and I told him I was the one who just called about donating these sofas. Before I could even finish what I was saying a woman came running out saying, no no no, we never agree to accept furniture over the phone. I tried to repeat the conversation that I had just had on the phone and she basically called me a liar and was adamant nobody who works there would have told me that. I told her I had no investment in whether they accepted the sofas or not and I only called because I would have saved myself a needless trip and gone right to the dump. She again insisted that nobody would have told me that on the phone. When I tried to leave she said she could inspect them and decide if they would take it or not. As she was "inspecting them" my mom was trying to lighten the atmosphere and said that they weren't pretty to look at but they were in perfect condition and someone would make use of them. The woman cut my mom off and snapped at her, "Don't try to sell me!". I was in shock. I told my mom get in the truck, this woman doesn't deserve 1 more second of our time. Based on the current reviews I read when I came to post, there are clearly some negative changes occurring here. As a store that's been in the community a very long time and relies on community donations and support, I hope for their sake they can turn it around.

Be prepared to be disappointed. The prices have gone up ridiculously and all the nice helpful staff are gone. The shelves are bare in many places and it's very depressing to see the way the place has gone downhill.

We did end up finding a few items. However most of the prices are mark higher then you can order it online and have it shipped to your house brand new. Tons of inventory, but looks like it sits due to pricing.

NWC School & Thrift has Excellent Thrift Prices and DAILY Discounts for Seniors and Military. This Store is ABSOLUTELY HUGE!Yes, understandable why the Restrooms and Fitting Rooms are Currently Closed. Masks are Required upon Entering AND the Employees are Eager to Assist You in Trying to Help you Find a Certain Item. I will Continue to Shop Here.

Really bad experience and it was a let down. As being raised Christian myself, I would never treat people how they do. They profile and follow innocent people around just by the way they look. Some of us take the bus and have to bring proper measures like big coats, backpacks, bags to make sure we can get our groceries/goods just like anyone."Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.“Matthew 7:1-2

This place has changed so dramatically that it is hard to recognize it as the same store. For years now it has been my favorite thrift store and five stars wouldn't have been enough. Now, with all these unfortunate changes, one star is way too many. Everything seems switched around with no regard for the customer's convenience and the shelves are essentially bare. What did they do with all their stock? Did it go to the dump? This was always a store packed with enticing goods. And the prices seem to have tripled. What a disappointment. When I shopped there today I heard many other complaints similar to mine.

I use to LOVE this thrift store. They were well priced, nicely stocked, but since new management the prices have gone up a lot. The items are sparse. You can’t try anything on, you can’t even return items for store credit. And you won’t even be able to use the restroom if you need to go.

I have been sick for a couple of months and finally got to visit what used to be my favorite thrift store…not any more!! There are no more 99 cent barbs items, no 10 cent Tuesdays, no bins to dig through, there are so few dishes that baskets are now located on the shelves where plates used to be.Sure they closed all the dressing rooms during Covid and never reopened them, and the bathrooms were also closed during Covid, so make sure you do your business b4 you go shopping; and if nature calls during your trip, you have to park your cart and drive to Rosauers and use their restroom as long as you buy something and drive back to the thrift to continue your shopping…I made it work because the store had wonders to behold and the digging for treasures made it all the more fun! I used to load up my cart to overflowing with stuff. Today, I was only in there long enough to know that this was no longer my favorite store! I purchased only 4 small items and voiced my opinion to the checkout gal. I was waiting for her to ask “would you like to round up for Christian schools?” But I think she knew I would never be doing that again…nor would I been visiting my beloved thrift store again! So whoever hired the person who did all that to my favorite store…you made a bad choice. It is no longer a happy place to be! And, you can be sure that none of my friends or family will be going there either!

Gave 1 start cause I had to, new boss new attitude. Horrible to employees rude as heck, sells fake bags for real prices. And on top of it they throw away instead of recycling their stuff, I rather donate somewhere that will make better use of it. Tweakers putting clothes out then running around to high to function. Then a older lady who was cashier rude as heck to anyone who talked to her. Use to be amazing and friendly now just a empty store that's gonna be ran into the dirt sad cause really was an amazing place. Still has a couple great workers but I've notice their slowly leaving.

Brought my teen here to try on some clothing. Apparently they don’t have dressing rooms anymore. When I asked what their return policy was the cashier said “we don’t accept returns”. She then told me that I could hold up a sheet in a corner to have my daughter try the clothing on. What?!!! Not sure how anyone is supposed to shop here when you can’t try things on OR return them. We won’t be back.

Love this store! They always have cool stuff. Just scored stools for 5 each that are 60 new. They usually have a good amount of window coverings and blankets. My dogs go through blankets pretty fast! Cheaper then dog beds

I was completely appalled by what I saw today. The store was half empty. The prices are way over the top. This is not showing support for the Christian schools. It's a thrift store not Macy's and I'm guessing that your dumpster is a lot fuller than it should be. It hurts my heart to see the greed. And throwing away all those donations because "someone" thinks it's trash. That is throwing away money for the childrenwhom you say you are donating to. Pathetic.

Sadly, after shopping here for 20 years, I have to give a one star.No air conditioning, made it near impossible to get through all of my favorite spots. I used to spend 2 hours in this store and load up my cart, especially on a ten cent Tuesday sale, or rummage through the clearance rack. Sadly, neither are available anymore, and due to heat was out of there in 20 mins. On top of which, they are becoming value village greedy on new and used items. This place has always been a staple for my back to school shopping as I have 5 children, but, I no longer feel the need to travel 30 mins to a place of misery. Not only do I have a child with a seizure condition and heat effects him, but also have a monetary issues when i can get the same price at other second hand stores. If they decided to take Thier employees and customers health into consideration, I may return, however. There is literally no need to support a person who does not value a person, only money, when it comes to protecting the safety and well being of his employees and customers. You obviously charge enough to make a profit, why not give it back to your workers and customers.Lastly, the clearance items and racks is where I found most my items to wear, which i as a mom of 5 didnt feel mom guilt, i could justify .10 to 49 cents, and would rave about northwest christian constantly. After today, I am no longer reccomending this place to anyone.

Don't purchase clothes from here. Went to get a couple pairs of dress pants for an event. I don't wear dress clothes alot and didn't want to spend a lot on new pants. Picked out 2 pair and couldn't try them on because their dressing rooms were closed due to covid. I knew this from earlier in the year. Not a huge deal because if they didn't fit i could exchange them later. I had purchased shirts before and had read the receipt saying i could. When i purchased the pants my receipt now says ALL SALES FINAL, NO RETURNS, REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES. How do you sell clothes to people who can't try them on and can't exchange if they don't fit? I tried on the shirts i got over my t shirt so i knew they would fit, not so much with pants. And as expected the pants don't fit. Now i spent $6 to donate them to someone else, not NW Christian Thrift. Now I'm off to a retail store to buy clothes i can try on and return if they don't fit. Kinda sad for a store i frequented quite a lot.

This second hand store has a huge selection of merchandise in great condition. There is always sales of 50, 60 and 75% off select items. Staff is friendly...I never leave without something. Best prices for a thrift store.

I got two different communications that they were going to accept a donation that I was going to bring loaded it up and I got there then they denied it. Completely wasted my time I've donated thousands of dollars worth of stuff to this place I'm never going to do that again their communication is poor.

Not a very "Christian" company. I'm certain that one of their commandments is "Thou shalt not tell false truths".My wife and I replaced our furniture recently and rather than just throwing out our not very old, decent living room set, we decided to donate it. It became troublesome as so many places have inexplicably stopped taking furniture. My wife called ahead to "NWC" to see if they did, and the person on the phone was happy to tell us that they would, in fact, take it all. What a relief, right? Well, we loaded up two trucks with the furniture, and drove up there. We were immediately told they won't take it, despite what we were assured on the phone. Turning their own people into liars. In my past experiences, I can also say they way overcharge for what they do have (which is also plenty of the same kind of furniture they lied about taking). I would recommend for your donating needs go to a thrift that will support local and be honest, good people.

I love shopping at thrift stores....you never can tell what kind of a treasure you might find. They have a great selection of items here. In the front entrance there is a consignment shop with quite a variety of antiques and other collectibles. On the sales floor you'll find books, clothing, furniture, housewares and shoes. I truly enjoyed myself today as i found a beautiful painting. It has as way underpriced! I'm thinking they are unaware of Native artwork. it's a 2x3 of a pony and it sold for $4.99......it was a steal!

NWC THRIFT store is a good place to find good quality used items. Today there were 3 colors of discounts.

Very good prices! They have great discounts, too. Three color tags are on sale at any time: one is 50% off, one is 60% off, and one is 75% off. Great prices on books. Most books seem to be priced between 70 cents and $2. The books have color tags, too, so they go on sale! Other thrift stores just have set prices for books that never go on sale. A pretty nice store here!
