I rarely get to that part of town but a detour and a well placed sign brought me stopping in. Found a cute light up yard decoration for Mother's day. Had to stop in to see the animals and fish while there, cuz who wouldn't? Cutest, fluffiest bunnies, I wanted one so bad but I read the sign and talked myself back into reality, no bunny YET. They even had Dory and Nemo together!

I have to say this.This is probably my favorite store in Spokane. The service you get, it's Paramount to heaven. I'm telling you the the knowledge, the courtesy, the customer service and the discount. It's almost too much. It's the best place I've ever spent money at. I highly recommend with everything I have. If you dont stop by you are missing out on a real treasure.. Have to check this place out if you're really missing out.l

I go here at least weekly, I want to support our local businesses instead of going online. I came in for a bag of sand to add to my soil mix. There was only one left and when I picked it up, there was a large slice in it, and at least a third of the product was on the shelf/floor. I carefully brought it to the front and they taped it up. A did confirm it was the last one in the store. I asked if they could discount it, being as a lot of the product was missing. They said since it was Wednesday and customer appreciation day everything was already 10% off and proceeded to put it back on the shelf. This feels really wrong to me, as somebody who comes to purchase that will be getting shorted product. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Great selection of gardening supplies. Really good selection of dirt and fertilizers. Much better than the home-improvement stores. And prices were great as well. Much cheaper than the local grocery stores. Great little store with pretty much everything we need for the garden or your critters.

I love this store and the friendly, hard working, and very knowledgeable staff.From fertilizers, to potting soil, to seeds, bulbs, pottery, plants, fish and fowl, this is the place to go in Spokane!(Even the home-made candy by the check stands is just amazing!)I was just there today getting food for a large female Mantis I brought in the house to save from freezing outside this week.They are so helpful and friendly.I love the giant Red Macaw, the huge stick bugs, the amazing giant tortoise, the hens and roosters, the songbirds and all the other animals in the store.Just a fun place to shop and visit and well worth the trip from anywhere in the inland Empire.Thanks,JDSouth Hill, Spokane

I have gone to northwest since I was a kid. I remember loving it and always appreciating their pets and quality of care. I've spent thousands of dollars over the last few years there, adopting elder rats with little hope and taking in pets they "rescued" knowing I could give them a great life....Friday, March 22nd, I took home a pacman frog and over the weekend he wasn't having a good time. He ended up deceased. I have gotten more than 20 of my pets from here without an issue. So I called about my frog, Trevor, and asked what could be done on Tuesday March 26th and was told they won't be helping me because they don't have guarantees on amphibians. I can understand having rules in place but I also understand how much I've spent here and how much I love my animals and to have them tell me oh well over a living animal was heartbreaking. I come here 3+ times a week for food and substrate for my pets and to have them give so little care for an animals life was a complete let down. The tiny pacman frog I bought had a home filled with moss and bark, things a pacman frog shouldn't have and can't digest, meaning they don't understand husbandry and don't care if their animals die due to their poor practices. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

Love this place, always supplies the feeders for my almost 20 reptiles and amphibians. Supplement my garden growth with nutrients and information. These people sure hire educated people to handle their animals.UPDATE: we have made friends with the pet department manager and work with them on isopods and reptiles, love the people and the consistency, thank you for being awesome nw seed.

Le Anna in the aquatics department has an amazing attitude and was so helpful and knowledgeable in getting us set up with the proper tank equipment to start an aquarium! She was so fun and helpful, definitely cannot wait to get back to the store and work with her in picking the fish up to put in the tank!! Thank you!!

Love love this place! Have since I was a kid! We had our own pet store at our home when I was growing up so my parents were always here! Love seeing ruby! So beautiful and on her good days she will talk! The alligator was a huge staple in my childhood. I don’t think there is a single person who grew up in Spokane or just lived here that didn’t know about the alligator!! He was so cool! And the tortoise is just as awesome. The fish area is super neat too! Just bringing to kids here is so fun for them! I usually get our summer seeds here for our garden as well! So here is some of the sunflowers I purchased from seeds this summer!

Great store for all your gardening and lawn care needs- everything from seeds to trees and everything you need to start and grow them successfully. They also have a pet store with a large variety of animals, reptiles and fish as well as a large variety of pet foods and supplies. A perfect one stop shop!

Prices are outrageous. Just bought the same tank they have on sale for 3 times what I paid. Not to mention the fish same fish healthier looking and bigger $10 dollars less in town( per fish that's priced $3.99 else where in town). I could order the fish online pay for next day air and still save money with the way they have their stuff priced. All for supporting local businesses but I'm not gonna pay 3 times or more for the same product. I won't be back. The owners responses about pricing are also a joke. Competitively priced? Due to inflation? Lol some of your products are over 3 times as expensive as almost anywhere else. Does inflation not effect those businesses and they are your competition so 3x higher isn't competitive in any way. Only matter of time before they go out of business sad they did it to themselves.

Extremely rude people. I was laughed and humiliated all because I wanted to purchase some water lettuce but the lady refused to sell me the amount I wanted and was only trying to sell me a super tiny patch. I wanted to split it between three different tanks and she just kept laughing at me. She kept making up the most silliest excuses and then finally said they needed to propagate which I I completely understand. However you can literally propagate ANY plant from simply just a leaf. I’ve also bought in big bulk here before where there wasn’t a whole lot but never had an issue. When I tried talking to a manager and her literal excuse for the ladies rudeness was cause she was German and then proceeded to come up with other pathetic excuses. I’m literally 91% German and in the over decade I’ve worked in retail and customer service I would never treat any customer how I was treated no matter how silly a question or request was and no company I’ve ever worked for would not tolerate this especially in the state of Washington. Severely disappointing, most likely won’t be doing business here ever again.

Just bought my first mystery snail here(1st snail ever) my grandson named him Thumper. I love him so much. Coming in this evening to get a bigger tank and a few friends for Thumper. I have 3 tetras I bought when I bought Thumper.. Sassy, Panda and Ben ☺️. The lady that works in the fish part is awesome (sorry forgot her name) was there yesterday for bubble stone and she was more than helpful. See you this evening

Just recently we decided to add some fish to our family. We went into Northwest Seed & Pet without any knowledge about what we needed first other than the tank itself.I have to say if it weren't for Michael and his helpful advice our fish would have went belly up over night. He advised us to acclimate our water, (which took us 2 weeks) helped us pick the perfect tank & although we wanted to walk out with fish that same day we listened. We came back with outstanding water from our tank so it was perfectly habitable.Michael gave tips on which fish get along with which so we have friendly pets. Directed us to which foods we would need for our new members, showed us how to clean our tank, made sure we had enough gravel & that some other decorative pieces were a right fit. He went above & beyond. He's definitely a man who takes pride in his work, my husband & I were so impressed! We thanked him and left as happy customers. I decided to call on our way home to get his name. I hope he's recognized more for his enthusiasm for fish. He's an incredible employee in our opinion.

I've been shopping at this location for more than 20yrs. Got my first iguana and piranha when they sold them. Get all my turtle, beta, rat, and other various supplies here. Recently, within the last 5 years i have only met 1 good, happy, informative, friendly employee of yours, and she has worked in the aquatic department for over 10 years. You have raised your prices for items 10X what they should be. For responsible hard working owners, your prices are disgusting, and employees just as bad. Even PLANTS are unreal, like your floral department is gods gift to earth and spokane wouldn't be able to find someone better to grow them. Animals I 100% understand driving up the price, if not just stop selling them all together with what the animal "market" has become. But everything else your market supplies, including employees is sad. Just sell your business and retire or actually give some compassion to your animals, employees, or at the very very least your customers.

This was such a fun experience! My son wants a Bearded Dragon for his 9th birthday. I took him here so he could hold one and I REALLY wish that I could remember the girl who helped us name! She was AMAZING! She had dark hair and literally knew EVERYTHING about Lizards! It was like talking to a dictionary! I was astonished! We will be back to ask her ANY and EVERYTHING when we do get one for my son! She let him hold one and made it an Awesome experience for him! We learned about what they eat and what they like when they are young, middle and adults! SOOOOO Informative! My son decided on a middle aged one! So we are currently in the market for one! Thank you NW Seed and Pet! We WILL be back! 10/10 Recommend!!

Probably one of my favorite stores. Very knowledgeable staff for your pets or plants. As a new dog Dad I really appreciate all the supplies and high quality food I need for my pup. As an aspiring gardener and landscaper I am always surprised all the plants these guys have that the big box stores do not. Plants that I’ve never even seen before. They are always offering to help me carry out big items too which is very nice and helpful.

I was so impressed with this store. Most pet stores do not have even close to adequate sized enclosures for the animals or the correct knowledge for care. The guinea pigs and chinchillas have very big accommodations and big piles of hay to burrow in. They also sell critter cages that are 8 to 10.5 square feet instead of the tiny ones most pet stores carry. Prices were far better than any other pet store I've been in.

I love this place, awesome service great pets. It is as close to a Zoo as Spokane has, I used to tell my son it was the zoo so we couldn't take any animals home. He is an adult and still calls it the Zoo! Pets and supplies. Plants for indoors and out! All the growing products your plants could ever need. This place is a wealth of knowledge for any gardener. The whole store is full of experts for pet and garden needs. Both stores are great!
