A cute little blast from the past! Henry is accessible when needed, and had short notice availability for us. Close proximity from Stevens Pass for skiing and we enjoyed watching the trains go by. You may be able to find something better on Airbnb for a large group, but this is the best and most cost effective options when traveling as just a couple. We’ll be back!

Henry was very helpful and understanding with our many schedule changes. It's a quick trip to Stevens Pass, and a beautiful location!Rooms: Small, but the point is to sleep here and go out to do things during the day.Food & drinks: The Cafe next door is great!

This is a very old and very well kept hotel. Cleanliness in rooms and shared bathrooms and hallways was great. Beds are firm. You should bring your own good pillow though. The heat runs off and on every few minutes and there is no in-room control. It was too warm. The operator was very welcoming and available. I just needed a one night bed. I don’t plan on a return though.

Pros: great location if going up to Steven's pass, great hospitalityCons: overpriced (although there are basically no other options at this price point to start with), rooms/bathrooms are not updated and barely functioning (knob was broken in bathroom sink, water in shower was not warm enough), no heat control in the room but to me the temperature was decent. Not sure if I would stay again. But for the area, it is likely the cheapest option but don't go expecting a 2 or 3 star hotel.

I love the experience here. It is not a 5 star hotel, but it has a great small town feel. You can have down to earth conversations with the owner. Check ahead to see if the Café will be open the days you will be there. There is a tavern, a coffee shop and a deli within walking distance if it isn't.

My group had grilled cheese sandwich, onion rings, french fries, meatloaf sandwich, potato salad. Everything was tasty. There was indoor seating but, since it was a gorgeous day, we ate outside. Service was topnotch. Wait staff courteous and helpful. Can't wait to go back. Thanks!

Highway 2 was closed due to fire. I called the hotel to see if they had any rooms and Henry took my call late at night and got up and met us at the hotel, he was very accommodating and friendly. You have the option of a shared bathroom at a lower rate or a private bath, we took the private bath and the room was nice, the bed was fantastic!

Small quiet town. We walked all over, everything is beautiful. The room here is small but sufficient with everything you need. The train is right outside and runs from time to time but it's too be expected, it is a train area. The owner was very nice as well as all the people we met here. Just an overall great experience. Want an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life? Come enjoy the peace here. Great food too! I loved it!

Had a great time here. We spent President's weekend there this year and skied Stevens every day.The rooms were very clean, and the beds comfortable. The inn keeper, Henry, was extremely friendly and attentive. Food downstairs was incredible. Would definitely recommend and plan on returning.

Passing through after a hike and literally googled food near me and this place was the closest. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. Super clean with a welcoming vibe. They were super accommodating when we asked to play the game and the staff was friendly. Most importantly the food was good and standard to what you would find at a diner. I had the Southwest salad and the veggies were fresh but my favorite part was the homemade dressing.

Stayed here for a night between Seattle and Leavenworth. Off the highway in Skykomish, very few lights, quiet without people but noisy with the train. Got a room with two beds, shared bathroom. Bathroom was super clean even though it was a shared bathroom. Owner was quite friendly when we checked in, gave us all the information we needed. Plenty of parking, didn't really stay long here. Wifi was good, bed was comfortable, enough outlets in the room.

The owner was extraordinarily nice. I am vegan and had the spaghetti with no cheese. The sauce was pretty good and made in house, with green peppers. The owner even used olive oil, instead of butter, so that I could have the garlic bread, which was very good.Unfortunately, the men's restroom was so awful smelling, I almost gagged before rushing out. I didn't stay in there long enough to identify the source of the odor, but it smelled like old sewage.

Henry is the sweetest! The rooms may be simple but they are clean and comfortable. The bed is fantastic! 16 miles away from Steven's Pass. The restaurant downstairs serves amazing food as well! This is not my go-to place to stay for my ski weekends.

Great experience came up here for the weekend with my girlfriend as a little get away. They welcomed us in like family. The room was very open and comfortable. We had a shared bathroom but its layed out nicely. The dinner and breakfast were very good. The owner was super nice and very personable. She made the experience very welcoming. The site's around town are beautiful and just add to the experience of the small town life. theres a little free train ride in the middle of town that was a lot of fun looks like it's for kids but it's not for just kids. Will definitely be coming back!

Me and my friends had just finished Section J of the PCT and ended at Steven’s Pass. Not wanting to camp another night, we took the bus to Skykomish (a town we didn’t know existed) and found the Cascadia Inn. Henry’s service was wonderful and he set us up nicely. The facilities were clean and he provided us with what we needed. I’d highly recommend this as a great place to stay for hikers and any travelers who find themselves in Skykomish (which was a lovely town).

Old building with a restaurant downstairs and rooms upstairs. The staff were nice. The rooms were clean but sparse. No TV, bathroom down the hall- which was also clean. There were rooms with a private bathroom and rooms with bunk beds as well. Downstairs was a small kitchen/lounge. It was nice that you could use the microwave, make coffee, etc. There was a large TV and a few games in this area. Downstairs was not as clean and a bit dated.

Make a right turn into the tiny, quaint town of Skykomish & you'll find a goldmine tucked at the side of an historic inn. The server there could light up the world. She took very good care of us, seemed to know every customer. They chatted amiably, even included us in conversation like we were regulars, old friends. One customer recommended we wait the 15 minutes for the proprietor (Henry?) to return from the grocery store with the lettuce & tomato, because their salads were super-delicious & worth the wait. They were right! A delightful assortment of American comfort food, like a cup or bowl of hearty beef stew, clam chowder, fish & chips, meatloaf sandwiches, burgers, & BLTs. They offer specials for dinner (4 pm), lunch & breakfasts (till noon?). I want to stay at this Inn just because of the people there.

This is a great little hotel and cafe, they have a Sunday buffet for about $12 and it's delicious. It's quality food and the place is very clean. It's a bit run down, but that is almost an advantage as they touch on the historical side of Stevens pass highway. A fantastic place to hit on the way too or from the mountain. This wasn't my first time and it won't be my last. Anyone looking for good food at a good price should stop on by.

Always good food! We love their clam chowder and their potato salad. Yummy sandwiches, great breakfast and dinner specials. Get your lunch to go and enjoy while looking at the trains and mountains!

It's pretty run down & dated decor. Was good for the price. We went hiking nearby so we just needed a night to sleep. Cafe's food is just okay, hashbrowns were not cooked well. Food flavor-wise was plane. Henry the host was However very nice & helpful. Other than that it's just okay for the most part.

I enjoyed visiting Skykomish every chance I get. Cascades Inn and Cafe is an unassuming place serving large portions of really delicious food and good service. Family friendly and a nice location for train spotting. It’s literally right in front. I hope you get the chance to visit both the town and business. I recommend the Acadia burger and tater tots.

We stopped here to eat at the cafe after a day trip over Steven's Pass. It was early when we got there (4:30pm), so the place was deserted - things were picking up as we left though. The food was awesome - as was the strawberry milkshake. FYI - the smoked mac and cheese is not on the menu, but make sure to ask for it - it was amazing!

I'm conflicted... the owner / host was personable and easy to contact. The Queen bed was the hardest I've ever slept in & there was a stray hair in my pillow. There were classic wood trim elements in the 10'x10' room. The shared bathrooms have totally separate stall and locking door on each unit. Overall it's a great cute place to crash for the night.

For a place with shared baths, the place was very clean. Expect a dorm like room and thin walls. Re-live the college days. The owners are a very nice, easy-going couple who live nearby. Make sure to keep your keys with you or you will get locked out. There is an attached restaurant which they also run and we had really good hot chocolate there. But it closes up early.

We love this place. People were so friendly. Made us feel very welcome. Step back in time and a slower pace.Truly relaxing. We found the rustic feel very peaceful.Breakfast with hummingbirds!! Several feeders hang outside the windows of our he cafe. Spectacular display of hummingbirds, which happen to be my favorite. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet with loads of yummy BACON! The French toast was sooo good! Henry’s western eggs with cheese. Yum.We have already reserved another stay at The Cascadia Inn.We have planned fishing, swimming hole about four miles away, hiking and a visit to the quaint town of Index. After taking in the splendor of the area, we will be at the Whistlestop for the coldest draft beer and great atmosphere. Very comfortable bed at the Inn waiting for us!! Ahhh.

I stayed at the Inn with my husband for 2 nights (2/2016). The Inn is really neat, especially if you like places with a little history to them. The Owner and staff were super friendly and welcoming. The food in the Cafe is delicious. I liked the trains that went by, however my husband found them difficult to sleep through. I guess it depends on what kind of sleeper you are. We both agreed that we would stay again though. So the trains must not have been that bad.
