If our govt required people to qualify for a permit to own a dog instead of carry a firearm, Adopt a Pet would be able to function with the staff they have. The volunteers do an amazing job & I hope people that know how to care for an animal will consider pet adoption.

I've adopted 2 dogs from Adopt-a-pet and now volunteer there as well. Both adoption experiences were great and it's also extremely rewarding to be a volunteer at Adopt-a-pet. Everything done is in the dogs best interests and always will be. Everyone there truly cares about each and every dog as if they were their own.

I've been volunteering here for almost five years. I love this organization. They take such good care of the dogs! The facility is super clean, the dogs get lots of attention, and it's 100% volunteer run. Amazing. The staff really get to know (and love) the dogs so they can match them with their perfect forever families. We are so grateful for the staff, we adopted our 2 new babies from them and are thankful they were so well taken care of in between homes. The staff is kind and compassionate and take such great care of the pups. We love our K&B so much. So glad we all found eachother. 💕🐕🐕💜

Awesome staff. We adopted a 3 yr old who had been in care for 2 years. The staff took great care of him, took time with him teaching him commands. They spoiled him with special treats, and most of all LOVE.

I've been volunteering for a couple of months now, and feel I can give a true review at this point. Adopt-A-Pet is run by an incredible volunteer crew that are ABSOLUTELY dedicated to the current and future welfare of every single one of their dogs. They know their dogs - Please defer to their months/years long relationship with their dogs to know best fit. I find them to be very well run and organized, again, all volunteer. SO when their volunteer load is low, they are working EXTRA hard to make up for the work that needs to be done. Please don't give poor reviews without understanding the organization. It does a huge disservice to this shelter and ultimately the dogs that reside there. Get involved! AAP will continue to need hard working, solid community members to help and keep the shelter clean and available to continue to do the hard work of dog rescue. I love my volunteer work with AAP!

This is a most amazing place- for people as well as our furry friends. The staff is entirely made of volunteers, saving literally hundreds of dogs a year. No dog is in danger of euthanasia or the possibility of being moved to another shelter. Every animal is placed with a family who has been vetted, has had face time with the dog chosen, and demonstrates a perfect match. In addition, upon arrival at Adopt-A-Pet, pets are checked out by a vet, chipped, spayed or neutered.If you are not looking for a new pet, I suggest a visit that will warm your heart.

I came into empty office space an waited. Finally woman employee comes up an I ask her to see dogs for adoption. She says I can't, must wait for her to Receive an important phone call. She walks off! While I'm still waiting, a young couple with daughter comes in same room. Same woman that is saying I need to wait for her important phone call comes right out an starts talking about couples adoption need, instead of helping me! While she talking to couple a second employee comes in an instead of helping me walks over to first employee an couple. Now there are two employees helping couple an I'm wondering why I'm being completely ignored? Then a 3rd employee comes in an again, instead of helping me, now young couple has 3 employees helping them an I'm still being ignored 4 ft away?? I'm ignored so long I'm given up looking a a pet for me, all three employees still helping young couple! I walk out an someone asks if there is a problem? Yes, I'm being ignored because of my older age, where 3 employees are falling over the single younger couple! Does this place know about discrimination against, age, sex or religion? There are laws on books about age discriminating. Sheriff office told me to see a lawyer! I didn't get a dog an got completely ignored like I was trash! I wouldn't give these guys one star but required give at least one! I hated my treatment by staff here, being unable see even see dogs for possible adoption! My treatment made me follow up with Sheriffs department!

We found a perfect dog, we bonded right away. He would have had a wonderful forever home. The volunteer who showed him to us became very jealous because he was so wonderful with us. He did not behave at all like she said he would. He loved being loved by us , he took his treats very gently, was not at all hard to control as she told us he was, even though she did everything in her power to make it so. It's a real shame that Zoose must stay at this place of no fault of his own. We now understand why he has been there since December. 😥 Donald Meyer

After being berated by other shelters for rehoming a dog my mother in law could not have around small children it was very refreshing to be treated with so much kindness, compassion, and understanding. Her dog will be well cared for until he finds his new home. Thank-you!

Adopt a pet, is a great no kill shelter who has gone out of their way to help others on the community. Fully ran by volunteers who really care for and love the animals who come here. They truly want and care and do their best to make sure the pets end up in loving caring forever homes.
