I have a 12 year old dog that was a rescue. He is a good dog but fearful of new environment and strangers. I have been giving his baths but at 71 yrs , It's been difficult for me to give him baths lately. My dog's groomer was at the front desk when we arrived. I shared some of the potential problems with him. He listened and told me he will pay attention to it. It did not took long when he texted me that Red is ready for pick up. He told me that Red did well and he did not have to put Red in a crate. I will be bringing Red back for more grooming. Thank you.

I wanted to give a shout out to my pups groomer Lauren. First, I was impressed that I was able to get her in on short notice on the day that I requested. When I brought in my 9.5 y/o fur baby who gets a little nervous, she instantly made her feel calm and safe and took the best care of her. She is knowledgeable and gentle and took extra care not to shave her to close to her skin. She also was patient with her when she worked on her backside even though my pup can be a challenge while doing that part. If you are unsure of who to trust your fur baby with, ask for Lauren!

I don’t want to give any stars at all. Horrible and expensive. I brought my Shih Tzu puppy in for bath, nail file and sanitary area. They charged me $67. Just for the bath no haircut (because my dog already have short hair), they charged $39. I usually take my puppy to Suds pet grooming in Bothell and for the full service, it’s only $70 and the groomer is really good. Very disappointed with Petco grooming.

we have been grooming our dog for over a year, we recently decided to give professional groomers a try and we are very disappointed. There’s a cut on our dog’s belly, and nails are cut way too short that one of them bled! We have been cutting our dog’s nail and trimming his hair for over a year and that has never happened! We have been very careful with his nails so that he’s not scared of trimming nails. Our dog is traumatized now, he doesn’t let us touch his paws anymore. We did not expect to pay over $70 to traumatize our dog. I regret taking our dog to petco grooming and will never do it again.

The team at Petco managed a challenging situation with my dog while he was being groomed. Apparently he had trouble with his backend functioning properly while being bathed and couldn't stand. The team tried to get a hold of me, but wasn't able to quickly so they rushed him to the emergency vet. It turns out that my pup was a.o.k. and after a full work up the doctors couldn't find anything wrong with him -- phew! I was impressed with how the manager (Richard?) and the groomer (Cutty) handled the entire situation. They were thoughtful and caring. Staying at the emergency vet until I came (even offering to stay all the hours my dog was there), calling to follow up multiple times to be sure that he and I were well taken care of. To top it off, Petco paid for everything! The bill was more than $1K and it would have been very challenging for me to cover those costs. Boy, was I grateful. It's a wonderful policy that Petco has to do this. In just the few days since this ordeal, I have told many people about Petco's diligence and professionalism. I hope it results in more fans of your grooming service!

We had a grooming appointment for our dog at 11:30 AM. I brought him over and was told that the AC was not working so they may have to shut down later in the day (it was a warmer than average day in Seattle).10 minutes after I left, I got a call saying that they have shut down due to the AC and I should go pick him up.To top it all off, they had the audacity to send me an email saying that the appointment was cancelled "due to COVID 19".The whole situation was very upsetting because we were really counting on getting him groomed on that specific day for our wedding, so rescheduling to a different day was not really an option. The groomer was not willing to help us find a different location - not that it mattered because we called all of the nearby Petco groomers and found no availability for the same day.We really love Petco and so does the dog, so we were very disappointed with our experience today.

This was my dog, Penny's, 2nd appt at Northgate - first visit was good (with Cutty) but my 4/21 appt was with a different stylist. I brought in 2 large photos with a few written comments & gave them to the stylist, asking that my Maltipoo be styled similarly to the Maltipoo in the pics. When choosing the fur length, I told the receptionist the fur should be similar to the fur in 1 of my 2 pics, & not the other picture, where the white dog looked pinkish because its fur was so short. The receptionist agreed the 2nd to shortest fur length on your selection pad was appropriate. Although promised, I was not called when Penny was ready for pick-up & when I finally arrived back at Petco, my white Maltipoo was shaved so closely that her body looked pinkish, just what I'd said I wanted to avoid. She spent that evening very agitated & scratching/licking herself almost constantly (very uncharacteristic of her.) The instructions I'd left for the stylist (in writing & via 2 large pics) depict a Maltipoo with considerable fluffy fur on her face, including eyebrows & a beard. At pick-up, Penny was left with eyebrows but her beard disappeared, so currently she looks more like a pointer in the face rather than a cute Malti! Luckily it'll all grow back; & I hope there'll be no lasting damage from the overly short shearing of Penny's body.

We were turned away from the first visit because she had a sedative, but it doesn't mention that policy anywhere on the website or appointment confirmation. He also trimmed the hair on her back even though I told him not to and the sanitary cut was done very short even though I told him I just wanted the longer hair cut there. The rest looked fine but then they asked if I wanted to tip him before I even saw her which didn't make sense to me!

Take me 1.5yo mutt and 13yo chihuahua here for all their grooming needs. Staff has always been friendly and asked all tons of questions to ensure our furry friends get a beautiful cut and groom. They also have solid pricing compared to other grooming places.

Edit: I'm decreasing this to one star because we just took her to another grooming salon to get her urgently fixed up, and they told us the Petco groomer nicked her leg and she was bleeding. The Petco lady never mentioned anything about that to us.I'm just confused at what's going on with the grooming at this place tbh. Petco Interbay says they are allowed to use #10 blades on the dogs, but we were told by the groomer that she was only allowed by company policy to use a #7 blade and since our dog was too matted for a #7, she was given back to us half shaved. We understand if that's the policy, but I talked to another groomer who was confused about this policy and said a #10 is safer on matted dogs, and had never heard that Petco wasn't allowed to use one. So then I called the Interbay Petco where my previous dog used to go, and they said they were allowed to use #10s.I'm not sure if the groomer was just mad at us that we let our dog get matted or what's going on. This groomer had groomed our dog once before and we were happy with the results. She seems like a nice person and we wouldn't want a dangerous grooming method to be applied to our dog if a #10 is really dangerous, but what I'm hearing seems very inconsistent (is it dangerous and is it company policy or not?) and now we have a half shaved very awkward looking dog which is stressing me out to sort out.

Our appt got canceled when a groomer called out sick (but we had already arrived with our dog), but they got us in within a week, discounted the service, and Kira did an amazing job with our dog's haircut.

Cutty at the Northgate Petco is great with my Smith. He is a 15 year old Shihtzu who is blind and deaf and grumpy. I bring in an old grumpy looking dog and everytime I get back a handsome young looking dog- still grumpy, though, since you can't trim that away. Cutty is always helpful with suggestions for his skin conditions and for general care.

They are horrible, don't take your dog there I bring my dog at 1pm and at 5pm I had to call there and the answer was the dog was not ready cuz he bite a woman name princess but I never saw or talk to her cuz I'm pretty sure he did something bad for get a reaction from my dog, she is really swee and never have any problem, also I take the dog always at petco on shoreline and never had any complain the people there had a great costumer service, professional and respectful, but northgate costumer service is very bad .
