If you love your dog please don’t let West Seattle Petco wash your dog. My dog came home we cuts on her stomach and her back . I’m so devastated about this treatment to my dog. My dog wasn’t being trimmed just a bath and brush and dry. I’m very very disappointed. I had no idea that this happened until getting home. The staff at the store has always been very helpful and supportive, so this is just sad.

I had a fish tank in need of a good clean out, I used all the information I knew about cleaning the tank and I guess I did too good a job because all But three of my fish died. I went to my neighborhood Petco on Alaska Street in West Seattle. The assistant manager Christopher and the small animal expert Sean we’re very helpful and supportive! I was however still having trouble with the tank. Yesterday, I was introduced to the woman who manages the fish department Sophia. She spent two hours with me answering all my questions (and I had a lot)everything from lighting to temperature to feeding and so much more. She advised me on type and number of fish to buy and how to create a low stress environment when I got home. I left there confident I could keep my new fish alive and was on my way to a diverse and thriving tank. When I told her how grateful I was for her time she said it was her pleasure, she said she appreciates customers like me who really want all the information necessary to take care of their fish. I am very grateful for the West Seattle Petco and especially Sophia. As far as I am concerned, Sophia walks on water!

DON’T GET YOUR DOG GROOMED HEREOur dog was dropped off for a cut with Gretta yesterday and when he was returned to us it looked like he had been through a woodchipper.He was actively bleeding from one nail that was cut too short and we found another when we got home. Our mini Aussies back legs and pants were shaved even though we asked for a trim (and she shouldn’t shave a double coated dog). Every part she touched is uneven and choppy, but his grinch feet were untouched.I could have done a better job at home pulling the weedwacker out of the shed. At first we thought he was just being dramatic, screaming as he came out. After seeing the results though, he clearly was traumatized and we will not be returning. This Petco is NOT where the pets should go!

I went to Petco to pickup dog shampoo and a clipper blade for my dog clippers. The staff were very helpful at helping me locate the items and even price adjusted the blades since the Petco website had them on sale. They let me know they will price match their website anytime. Thanks for the help you guys rock!

Super convenient location and layout of the store is very easy to bring your pet along with you they always have more then one huge clearance bin and a good selection on the smaller and medium harnesses that are normally hard to find

My dog was refused to be given a grooming service because he did let the grommet touch his paws to shave. He has been to PetSmart in aurora and woodinville many times and the groomers loved him. He has been to other independent groomers too. No one had any issue with him. The Petco groomer even refused to give him a bath because “he did let me touch his paws”. My understanding is that grooming always starts with bathing. It is super disappointing that we dropped my dog and 20min later Petco just called us to decline the entire grooming service.

A wonderful employee, Audrey, helped me return a deceased freshwater fish and exchange it for others. They provided helpful information about how to care for the new fish, and reassured me about the possibilities which could have contributed to the death of my previous fish.

This store is always stocked up and the workers actually believe in providing customer service! Some products are a bit pricey but there is always a deal to be found if you take the time to look around.

Staff here is amazing, I didn't catch their names but it was the closing shift.They stayed after closing time to help me with an issue with an online order I had. We ended up having to cancel the online order (which they helped by calling in since we couldn't do it online) and used the same discounts + some other extra ones they had in store.

I had shopped her numerous times (usually to buy cat food or fish supplies) and never had issues. Yes this is a big box pet store so it will always be less well taken care of than a more expensive store but I never had a real problem. However I just purchased cat food that had been expired since January!!! My cat was ill for 2 days and I was about to take her to the vet when she thankfully started feeling better and I decided to check the expiry on the can. Long story short, they sell expired products (whether by omission or commission) and that is enough of a reason not to shop here anymore.

Excellent service! Also, I highly recommend the vital care, with the 15 a month coupon credit its essentially 5 a month per pet, and with the discounts offered, it truly pays for itself. The only problems have nothing to do with the store, but with the corporate policies. @ corporate, give these people raises, they are doing excellent work

Do not go here. The groomers are inexperienced and lack customer service on top of common decency. They don't answer the phone & when you leave a message you rarely get a call back if you dont contact the store manager to complain. I've tried going to the store directly at all hours. There is never a person in the grooming salon. No animals. No employees. I called in the beginning of MAY and finally got a call back after speaking with the store manager to book a grooming appointment. They couldn't get me in until the end of JUNE just for them to cancel a few days before & try to reschedule me in JULY.Mind you my dogs have not been groomed in over 45 days. I should have listened to the several people who warned me Petco was trash & to not take my dogs here. Another red flag...a store manager doesn't even use their groomers. They go off site.

I take my pup to get groomed every other month and the new groomer Tommie was so sweet and loved Felix. He recommended I take Felix in more often so his wicks are not so long. This Petco is so close to my place and everyone is so nice.

There were no shopping carts available and when I asked for one I was told there were none available. Made it very difficult for me to carry out the 3 buckets of tidy cat litter that weighed 35lbs each to my car that I also found 3 $ cheaper the next day at petsmart. Disappointed that I have to be vital health memeber to get a price break when petsmart they just give it when you purchase 2.

Went to get a fish with my son. They said they won’t sell us the fish because they’re “understaffed”. There were 2 on staff: one at register one talking to the one at the register. There were only hand full of people looking for pet supplies by themselves. If this doesn’t spell laziness, I don’t know what does.

I have been living in the West Seattle neighborhood and shopping at PetCo for over two years, and it's always the same terrible customer service. Standing at the department for over ten minutes needing help. The representatives know I'm there and stand at the registers until I go over there and request help, then they have the gall to act surprised and know exactly which department they're calling someone over. For all the shopping I've done there, I was turned away from an engraving because I didn't purchase the tag from the store. I just got a new puppy, and he will need grooming, training classes, and a lifetime of food and toys, but not at PetCo. My aquarium items will be purchased from somewhere a million miles out of the way and I will happily take by puppy business to Mud Bay where they acknowledge and treat my dog and I with courtesy and appreciate our business. I have already been down this road with PetCo so many times that when I bring someone with me I have to warn them that we'll be in there forever before anyone even acknowledges us; my last visit with a friend had them stating the store representatives obviously knew we were there and were making obvious moves to go down isles where they would not have to engage us. This is the only business in my life that I have ever had issues with, and if I could give them negative points, I definitely would. I would be more than happy to donate my rewards points back to the store in exchange for customer service training. Absolutely ridiculous. NEVER AGAIN.

I have been going to Petco for grooming since my two Irish doodles were puppies. Brandon has been amazing at making them feel comfortable, giving adorable haircuts and turning their coats into what I've coined as 'puppy cashmere'. This hairstylist is the reason I keep coming back, I know my girls are in good hands. Thank you Brandon for your exceptional grooming & customer experience.

PetcoooooooooApp is buggy as heck. Website lags. But hey, shopping in store is pretty smooth and the staff are helpful and friendly. Prices are reasonable though not always as good of prices when it comes to comparing to PetSmart. At least as far as deals and such go. Great selection of pet supplies and good quality brands from food to pet care and so on.

Reptile and fish habitats are alarming. The reptiles are mostly underweight. I overheard an employee talking to another about how a reptile bit the tip of the other’s tail off because they were housed together (which they should not be). The fish tanks are never in good condition. I’m surprised they’re still alive considering you can barely see them swimming around in there. Every time I go in, I point out at least 5 dead betta fish just sitting in the cups disintegrating on the shelf. Pretty sure they just wait for the fish to die versus monitor and treat them for any illnesses.
