This is one of my favorite places to go to for an easy prime rib sandwich and artisan cheeses, among other things. While the pricing for grocery goods you can find elsewhere is laughable (5.79 for a bag of Goldfish versus Target's 2.99 for the same item? Really?) it's the goods unique to this store that really make it shine as a luxury market. This place was instrumental in reigniting a love for cheese boards I had long forgotten through their 5 or less bargain bin slices, and I can find rare spices and baking goods I can't find elsewhere without searching too hard.

The cake was delicious! The decoration (which the pastry chef offered to do) gave us a good laugh!Tip: if they hand you your cake with the lid taped shut, I suggest you ask to check if the decoration is up to your standards!

The best blueberry scone, matcha latte and the breakfast sandwich (cheddar). Delicious red caviar, the mushroom brie/ham/bread/produce (always fresh). Nice and friendly staff.

I came here because it's the only place in town I could get a huckleberry pie. It was worth the drive! The pie was scrumptious. I was also impressed with the holiday goodies, floral, deli, frozen, prepared meals, and pet sections. I knocked one star off due to a rude checker and craziness in the parking lot. Calm down, drivers. If some people just had some patience and waited their turn, it would make it so much easier for everyone.

This store is expensive but they have great produce. Prime rib sandwich in the deli is awesome. Also they have olive and salad bars and a good selection of pre-made meals. Pot pie is a favorite.

Very solid grocery store with occasional sales. Vegetable selection is a bit small and very seasonal, but fruit selection is excellent and I’m pretty good shape. The peaches are the best I’ve had in Seattle. Freshly made cookies are the stuff of local neighbourhood lore. If you catch the chanterelle sale in season, it’s a great deal.

This review is purely based on "The Cookie".I got pretty hyped up as there was a lot of people saying this cookie was amazing and I was pretty disappointed.Pros:-big-warmCons:-no structural integrity-chocolate flavor not prominent even with the amount of chocolate-salt not evenly distributed and clumpedOverall the flavor isn't that chocolatey and almost tasted like bland gloop with pockets of salt.

Upscale market. Top quality produce. The deli is remarkable with hot dinners for takeout prepared daily. The bakery items are truly gourmet and the cheese selection is remarkable.Be warned, prices are high but you get what you pay for. Employees are pleasant and helpful.

I am writing to share my experience in your store at the [ location5250 40th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105]The date 10/20/23 on Friday around 10:00am morning].5250 40th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105I noticed that I was being followed by the security guard when entering the store. The behavior made me feel uncomfortable, with every move I was made to feel like I was being watched as if I were a criminal based on my race/ethnicity.Furthermore, I had a very poor customer service experience at checkout. After purchasing personal hygiene products (tampons), I placed them in my purse for discretion. The cashier without explanation pulled the tampons out of my purse. I found this experience to be very embarrassing. I had also purchased food from the deli, fried chicken and beet salad, and the cashier helper spilled my entire deli/ salad container on the floor. She asked me if I wanted “to purchase another one”, to which I replied that I’d like this one replaced as I wasn’t the one who dropped the container.Shopping at this store was very disappointing, embarrassing, and frustrating. My hope is that Store Management can address these types of incidents with seriousness so that future shoppers do not have the same negative experience.Thank you for listening,Maria Torres

Yes they are expensive, but they certainly have some amazing stuff. Beautiful produce, nice salad bar, and a wonderful deli.

I knew I was going to overpay at this store but went anyway because I was in a rush. However I thought the food quality would at least be somewhat good. Instead, the bananas I got had some kind of rot, the $7 precut cantaloupe was bland and unripe, and the chicken salad had a few pieces of clear plastic in it. Coffee selection is at least good and they packed the grocery bags well.

I bought mainly cold and hot food. The cashier ordered the items in the bag from cold to hot so that the items don't mix so that they stay their temperature. She did it so fast, and I didn’t even notice. It was a busy morning too. Amazing service.

Love this store. Always makes me hungry to shop there. 😀 Managed to talk an out of town friend into coming shopping with me here rather than Whole Paycheck. She spent about 5 minutes inside before proclaiming "this is so much better then Whole *****!"

This store is overpriced on their products and the variety of items are somewhat very limited. Very disappointing to see holes throughout the shelving and not finding what I originally came in for. I can understand the need for local products and specialty items which are very noticeable in the store which is a good thing. However, they may want to consider in making sure of having everything else in stock.

Poor customer customer service in hot deli. Not a soul to help a frequent shopper ! 1:45 in the afternoon? Several gentlemen in cheese department NOT helpful and surly. Self checkout , people running it are usually elsewhere when customers need attention.Lots of other shopping options...

Short of driving to west Seattle Met Market is the only place that carries Jet City Beignets dough in the freezer section.Made locally and super delicious. On the days you desire hot, fresh, fried heaven, all you need are these and powdered sugar.Thaw and proof for 2 hours, fry up, sprinkle, fall over from sheer bliss.Trust me, we all need more Beignets in our lives. They are ALSO the only place with Texas Chocolate Cake. It's not too sweet, loaded with Cocoa, pecans and/or walnuts. It's truly heavenly. It's because of this cake I discovered the beignets. Also the only place I've found with a prime rib carving station for lunch. Amazingly delicious and affordable. Cheaper than buying a roast and doing it yourself.Yes, you do deserve it at least once.

This grocery store is certainly fantastic on many levels. Big hot food bar and deli that easily competes with the whole foods in the area. Great sushi, fantastic produce huge wine and beer selection. All that is awesome except when you go to check out. Giant lines no space to move around and a complete lack of self checkout. I know it requires space and easier said than done but the value of a self checkout is huge, check any QFC, any whole foods the self checkout is a must have.

Sushi used to be great here— haven’t seen this lady named “Beth” for a while. When she was there the sushi was the bomb. Now the nigiri is still okay but the rolls kind of fall apart, and they don’t have nearly the selection they used to. Had some of the poke and it was still partly frozen, not really lunch ready. Still better than your safeway sushi fare but it used to be close to restaurant quality.

I absolutely love this grocery store. They have it all. Amazing veggie dept, delicious meat department…endless food selections and home supply items… then there is the pre-made meals, buffet, salad bar and deserts. Wonderful gift items too. Most of the staff has worked there for years. They have been resilient during covid obstacles and are great people.

The place has excellent groceries in general, but their sushi bar at the deli makes the best sushi you can get outside of a restaurant that specializes in it.They also have excellent cookies, teas, and Italian sodas at their little cafe attached to the deli. I'd assume their coffee is good too, but I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't say for certain. Their deli has lots of great things too.The only downside is that everything here is expensive, but you get what you pay for, and here that's premium food.

Great store with high quality products. The deli is amazing! You can get great meals, including holiday meals such as full Thanksgiving dinners. They have a nice salad bar, pasta station, and desserts. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Definitely a more expensive and higher end market and the prices & quality reflect that. Beautiful store and great quality produce, deli and bakery.

Top notch supermarket with a great produce section, deli, wine department and really nice flowers as well. Haven't touched the meat dept yet, but now have high expectations. Clean and bright, and the staff is very friendly and will take time for you. Definitely a keeper.

I am always amazed by the selection at this Metropolitan Market. They have an amazing selection of cheeses, meats, beer, special foods (gluten free, vegan, etc), and I am never left disappointed by their friendly staff. They are a tad more expensive than your average grocery store, but their selection, quality and service is head and shoulders above.

Decent produce. Good hot ready meals. However, VERY rude staff. Specifically “John” and his supervisor “Kayla”. Insulting offensive and shamelessly I remorseful for their actions.Thankfully The floor manager “John” took the effort to apologize and diffuse the situation while walking my groceries to the car.I will be bubbling this up to leadership so that their actions are not replicated. These employees make the other amazing ones look horrible.

Gorgeous delicious cakes. We all know The Cookie is insane, the meats and seafood are fresh, and the service is excellent, but this buttercream + raspberry filling + white cake was insane. Get a cake at Met Market now!
