I went looking for a new tarantula (already own 5) as well as feeder crickets. The second you enter it just absolutely reeks. There's many stores that have all the same animals and still smell decent. It didn't smell like animal, it smelt like built up filth in enclosures. There were tanks with water so shallow it barely covered the fish and no items inside. Betas were placed with other fish without any terrain to hide, or even substrate. Super. Over. Crowded. Every tank had at least 2 reptiles inside unless it was already too small for 1! There were some fitting as many as 6 chameleons in the same small enclosure. Absolutely sad to see. Hewitt Reptile Emporium is much better taken care of if you're looking for an exotic petstore with nice prices, healthyanimals, and amazing staff.

I went there and bought a savannah lizard and it died after 1 month. We spent over 1k in there and he had cancer for a long time. We found out from the vet he was malnutrition as well. They did nothing to help or try and rectify it. They are just their for a sale and the store smells horrible. Do not go here.

Severely overpriced, while I will pay extra for a mom and pop shop, the customer service was utterly pathetic. Not to mention mom thought I was going to steal something so 👀 on me like a hawk but when I needed help with getting fish pop didn’t know how to sex platys. Then he had this rude tone (almost yelling) about which ones I wanted. Petco as much as I despise them has a better chance of getting my business.

Absolutely do not buy from this store. I got a savanna monitor front this store and it had cancer and was sick. We spent over a 1000 dollars and that’s not including the vet appts and they didn’t do anything about it. They are truly there to rip you off. They don’t care about the animal or their customers. DONT BUY FROM THEM

Mixed feelings on the place. It smells. A lot. But that might be the reptile area. The fish seemed alright. Prices seemed normal, about on par with other places for fish. I didn't check if products were expired, but the stuff I bought wasn't. Betas were in small cups, but that's what you find at petco. Large selection of fish, mostly fresh water, but they have a salt section in the back. Reptile section can be visited in request.

The woman owner is very rude and mean. Everyone talked about this a lot. She always pushes the price higher than its value. They should label all fish , so their customers should know the price without arguing.

Worst pet shop ever. Sketchy looking, smelly place, and the female owner is extremely mean and rude.Went to buy 2 gerbils, but were not allowed to see them in the tank (they were kept in a backroom with the reptiles where nobody is allowed to enter). The man retrieved them and put them in a tiny cardboard box for us to look at. The gerbils were extremely stressed, and jumping out of the box.He had said they were $9.99 each over the phone, but the women rang us up for $40. When I brought this up, the two proceeded to argue. She verbally berated him, but she refused to budge on the price. I noticed that there was blood and the gerbils were fighting. She said we could return them if we didn't like the price. But she only gave us $5 back. She acted indignant, and I could see there was no changing her mind, so we left without our money and without the gerbils.

Mixed feelings about this place. I went to buy a leopard gecko - they had a large selection and the woman working was extremely nice. Leos were housed together which was a red flag, and the one I got had a regrown tail and was obese (I didn't realize this at the time). My leo ended up having some health issues, enlarged follicles and liver disease, which were concluded to be from overfeeding. I've had her for 6 months and she hasn't eaten anything since she came home. I know for a fact it's not because of poor husbandry. I've spent hundreds of dollars going to the vet. Not blaming the store or breeder, but she clearly had been suffering from serious health issues for a while.

There is a lot problems with this store. First of all, store smells terrible. It smells like something is rotten. I had to cover my nose while shopping and found disgusting tank with full of mollys died. They are using one tank like garbage can. Bettas are in very small cups almost same size of egg cup. Every filter in tanks are polluted, heaters are covered by secretion. Supplies are way overpriced than other local store even more than petco!. They won't let you check the price on online. If you do that, owners are going to take your item away from you without permission and reject to sell it. They yelled at me. They said "I hate people like you! Go online store if is expensive!". So I apologized about what I had done because I realized it might be disrespectful for them. But they don't LISTEN. I tried to talk with them honestly as I can but they kept saying "Is not fair! online pay nothing! We pay rent and electrocity! This is why so expensive!". I tried my best to apology again but they just kicked me out. IM CUSTOMER. There is no reason to be treated like that. Worst customer service, overpriced, animal abuse... NEVER GO TO THIS STORE.

It was a cool place but very overpriced... one AVERAGE looking small koi is $79 there's better quality koi for the same price online shipping and all... the pond is not what I expected very clever but not well excicuted very small and very shallow for the large koi and way too overcrowded... when I think of a koi pond I think very pleasing to look at and nice to enjoy the fish it just didn't look like a well kept indoor pond made the fish look bad.. the owners wife was very friendly im just not impressed with the koi section which is the only thing I went to look at

Dont support these shady people. These people are awesome as long as u spend money. I've spent over 1k$ with them and yet they still tried lying to me about new stock of fish and price. Scammers, they don't care about the customers what so ever. Always dead fish and they hardly feed them. You're better off at petsmart.

I visited this store to buy fish for my new fish tank, they had a huge selection of fish(fresh water and salt). Staff were super nice, and they test all of the water levels in your tank for free. Also they have a cute dog.

Dirty, nasty place. Over crowded tanks with dead fish. Everything covered with grime. We spent maybe ten minutes in there and didn't see a soul, didn't appear to be anyone working there, though I'm not sure I would want to meet whoever is responsible for this place

The owners which you will find in the store each time you visit are so friendly and extremely helpful and nice to talk to. If you are lucky their puppy who sits behind the counter will even like you. There is a very large selection of fish, fresh and salt water exotic and plain. There is an area for accessories, food and toys if you need also. There is a reptile room with I really nice selection of different types of Exotics.

Got all my fish from here and they are happy little swimmers. They family that runs the place are knowledgeable and the fish all look healthy. The store is not very noticeable from the street as the glass is painted so you really have a tough time seeing inside.

This was a cute store and I found everything I needed plus extras. Hard to find a good aquarium with a diverse selection. Ended up spending more than I intended because of everything offered. Roseline barbs, blue crawfish, glow fish, leopard algea eaters, glass fish, arowannas, koi and theynfid have salt water but I was there for freshwater.

I go to this pet store often and love it. The owners are great - very friendly and knowledgeable. They always have a great selection of animals and they do a fantastic job of caring for them. Very clean and well maintained. They love their animals and it shows.

This is the only place locally I’ve seen where you can get monster fish like arowana and shovelnose catfish. The smell of this place isn’t any worse than any other pet store that has reptiles, such as Sierra fish & pets in Renton. The focus here truly is on the monster and ornamental fish, such as their Koi, goldfish, arowana, and discus.Their other selection is not that bad either, I picked up a shoal of tiger barbs here for a lower price than LiveAquaria when shipping is factored in.

I gave this store the benefit of the doubt and I went even after reading several negative reviews, unfortunately I was let down by what I saw. The conditions of the aquariums were actually not bad and many of the fish seemed to be healthy, however, the koi pond was dirty and overstocked. The reptile room is where most of my disappoint stemmed from. A majority of the reptiles were kept in poor conditions, including small enclosures with no proper heating or lighting and no water. There is a large leopard tortoise that has an overgrown beak, severe pyramiding, and scute deformation. I asked the woman at the counter how much they were asking and she stated they were looking to get $900 for this tortoise. The owners of this business clearly have no knowledge of proper reptile care and are out of their minds for wanting to charge such a high amount for an animal that will probably require twice that in veterinary bills. I felt awful for the animals there and I agree with the other reviews that state that this business should be shut down.

Absolutely horrible store. Do not go. The betas were thrown into tanks with other fish that they’re not compatible with. The smell was absolutely awful. I hope they go out of business. All the tanks where disgusting. I decided to get some fake plants for my pet snake and the prices were hidden so I didn’t realize until I got outside and she pretended not to hear me when I asked at the counter. Looked at the receipt that I was charged almost $70 FOR FOUR FAKE PLANTS. Which is outrageous. Do not go here. Hope it gets shut down sooner rather than later

Bad animal malpractice. The moment I walked in the store there was a very strong smell of ammonia from dirty aquarium water. Although most tanks where fine, koi and monster fish were way over crowded. In particular the arowanas as had injuries from being over crowded. Something else that turned my stomach is they kept the rabbit snails with +50 assassin snails. Half of the rabbit snails in the tank were just empty shells. The store also has reptiles but I couldn’t bare to enter the room after seeing around 20 bearded dragons running to the side of the tank when they saw me in the room next door. I understand pet stores need to sometimes overstock tanks but they over stocked to the point where animals got hurt. I highly doubt even some of those beardies will be bought soon. It was overall a depressing experience.

Bought a sailfin that looked like he was bullied. I didn't notice that half of its upper fin was missing. Lukily he is healing and seems much happier in my tank.

Appeared to have a slightly above average selection of fish at decent prices. Tanks look dirty, but the the fish looked generally healthy. Large selection of accessories and fish related products. I have not purchased any live stock from this store yet, so I can't comment on the actual health of the fish. However they did look healthy and there weren't dead fish in the tanks. Staff was friendly and helpful, offered to answer questions if I had any.
