went on a family camping trip with my son and girlfriend at barrier dam campground they have a tackle shop and store fishing close by restrooms with showers and plenty of fire wood available and night security very friendly staff those kind of people that would take the shirt off their back thank you for such a down home camping experience , sincerely your camping friend forever

Great little place to camp. Surrounded by gorgeous trees and foliage it stays cool all day.Has a cute little meadow big enough to play lawn games. A small toyset for the kids.Cleanest bathrooms I've ran into down here with a spotless porta jon onsite as well.The owners are so kind and helpful. Personally see you to your site and make sure you have everything you need.The tackle shop is the best stocked fish shop around!

Well, where to start. We needed a place to stay and this was the ONLY place that had any available sites. So we reserved 3 nights sight unseen. $35 a night for water and electric. No dump. I guess you would call this a fishing camp. That makes it sound ok for it to be in such disrepair and bad condition. It looks like no one does anything to maintain it. Just park and get your money. It is not invested in this place. This camp is by far in the worst condition of any we have stayed since traveling the past five months. It had permanent campers, just parked and left that were in nasty condition. The sites were all dirt. Our picnic table was missing a leg so they had it propped up on a slope in the ground. When we tried to move it to make room for the RV the leg on that side fell off exposing rotten wood and nails. There is no way anyone could use that table without getting injured. I called some other camps in the area hoping they might have a cancellation but there was nothing available so we had no choice but to stick it out so we could do Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens. That being said, it was quite. I’m just glad we were off sight seeing most of the time because the place was quite depressing. Would not stay there again. I don’t understand people that don’t take care of things. See the photos.

I stayed here one night on 9-16-2023. The owners had music blaring loudly from their garage area the whole time I was there, all night long. I needed ear plugs to sleep. The same music blares inside the store. It’s hard to believe the proprietor could not envision how inconsiderate this is toward his guests. He also has a German Shepherd dog off-leash in his store that he warned me would kill my little (leashed) dog if I brought him near the store.

I really enjoyed this place. You are tucked in the woods. No concrete! I liked this. Beautiful tree canopy, yet a couple open field to star gaze. There is a playground and a pavilion. Dad as he was called, told me to let him know if I ever wanted to host a family gathering (party). To request it and he would have it ready.Yes the shower house is coin operated. That in my eyes hit to the nostalgia. Not only that it keeps people from leaving the water on and walking out.There are many different size of spots ranging from smaller tent sites to large RV sites. RV sites have water and electricity with a ring for fires. Some of the tent sites have the bbq L with grate.The people running the place are very nice. The really made a impression on me. Knowing that this was a family run operation. I waited to buy my “supplies” till I checked in (beer, ice, fishing stuff I didn’t need 😂). Can’t recommend this place enough. Tell them Kevin sent you and ask for a six pack of what’s on special 😉. Yeah I like this place that much it’s on me.

To all those haters out there, the showers all work, the bathrooms have been painted and the campgrounds are very well maintained. The trees are manicured and leaves raked up. If your looking for the Holiday Inn or the Hilton its back on I~5. And prices in store are competitive with more to choose from than the big name stores. The owners are awesome people, and are more than willing to help with your fishing needs. If you know that you will arrive after 5:00 p.m. just call ahead and let them know.

This is a handy place to fill up my propane tanks. The store does not have a very good selection. There is a big German Shepard dog in the store which is friendly enough but if you have a dog of your own keep it in your vehicle. The store dog is very aggressive towards other animals. I'm a lifelong dog owner and dog lover but I don't believe the store dog is a good idea.

Absolutely an amazing supply of gear for fishing (this does make it a little tight inside). When I was in the store today I overheard 2 separate phone calls where the attendant was offering the caller information on the current conditions of the river and the bite reports. Very friendly and informative staff. I bought more just to support the local store with good people.

This place is dear to my heart. I have been comming to this campground for 20 years. Don and Karen own it and are awesome people. Don passed away this year and left this world a legend in the fishing community. This camp ground is a sportsman's dream. They have tackle,beer and food in the store plus decades of fishing advice for the cowlitz river and allot of the lakes. If you find yourself in Lewis county and want to camp check them out.

The owners of this establishment are beyound retirement. They have been trying to sell this campground and bait shop for years.Upgrades should have been made 20 years ago. They no longer open early. They assume everyone who enters there bait n tackle shop intends to steal from them. I hope they sell it for enough to retire, so they can be happy and stress free.

First of all we were the only ones here in this campground. And they put us in the smallest tightest most overgrown campsite of all. The next day we asked if we could move since there was no one else in the park and they said yes so we did move to a better site. Went to take a shower and they are coin operated with handles missing from the showers. $28 a night and you still have the coin operated showers? This place could be a great park. Nice setting lots of trees but vastly in need of lots and lots of maintenance. Would never come back and would not recommend it to anyone else. Spend a few more dollars and go to Mayfield park or paradise or Ike kinswa

I read a review hating on the place so I was kind of skeptical. It was either a state park for 10 a night or this place for 18. what sold me is that they had showers and I needed one badly. Went in to take a shower and they didn't work. So could have saved 8 bucks which makes me sound like a penny pincher but you really should deliver the services you promise.

Haven't camped there. But the store is great. Part of it is food and the rest is a tackle store with lots of product. The kids are doing a great job.

The reason I'm giving 2 stars and not minus 5 is because the lady working is the NICEST.In the trailer eating the reese's and Hershey bars we bought earlier with our fishing license. Realized it tasted funny so I mentioned it to my hubby. He looked at the date. Hershey's expired in 2018 😥 the reeses 2019.... that's really not a good thing. I will be checking our bread loaf tomorrow and swinging these candies back by. I'm glad my kiddos didnt eat these with their s'mores.Hazardous

A very important stop for anything you need for your fishing/camping experience at this long time mom and pop store and camp ground. Fishing license, tackle, snacks, soda, beer and other essentials available. Campground closes for maintenance in mid winter and reopens in the spring.

this is a great campground and store....don and karen are super people and they have more tackle than 10 stores....nice campsites and playground for kids or grownups.....and for the people with negative remarks i dont want you to camp by me anyway because 99% of the time you are the ones throwing garbage in the woods and busting the showers...lots of fishing within walking distance
