It's horrible this place has been closed for almost 3 years. Seattle City Light should be ashamed of themselves. It was so well run, and had a excellent assortment of goods. Shame on SCL!!

Great stop on SR20, before going over the pass when driving East. They have delicious hotdogs, old-style pops, barista coffee, tasty fudge, and a very cool milkshake machine (quite the success with the kids!) The ladies that work there couldn't be sweeter or more friendly. There's plenty of space to sit down and eat your lunch/snack, while the kids go outside and climb the antique locomotive. There's also quite a supply of grocery items and a few knickknacks/mementos to take home with you. My family and I love this great little store and it has become a tradition in our travel itinerary.

Unlike other patrons, my experience was fantastic. We got milk shakes. They had ice cream, ice, plenty of frozen foods, firewood, tons of canned food and other staples. When you are in the middle of nature, not sure what more you can ask for. The staff helped us with a big and sincere smile.

Coming back from a trip to the coast, we saw a sign on this building for fudge. Turns out there is no fudge and hasn't been for awhile. (The sign should probably come down.) Additionally, we were returning on a Monday in late July, and the place looked completely wiped out from the hordes of tourists that stop here. The water cooler was empty. The closest thing to water was unsweetened tea. It's the only pitstop for miles, so prepare to get water much earlier in your drive.

July 4th, 2 pm. Fountain drink not working. Ice machine not working. Zero ice cream in the store for sale. Zero engagement from three individuals working the counter. A captive market for dozens of miles. Wrong on so many levels.

They are short staffed so there isn’t a coffee bar or fudge counter this summer.Inventory was bleak but if you need a few snacks for your day, you should be able to find something here.Notice: They are closed most the week of 7/20 due to some sort of mandatory training. You might find yourself in a bind if you were relying on a stop here, so grab what you need in Marblemount or Winthrop!

Curious business model. Most for-profit companies choose to be open on high traffic days. These guys, on a scenic highway, close Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.They must know something all the tourists bouncing off their doors don’t.

Friendly folks, nice stock of things you might need on your trip. Along with novelty items, local artifacts and food. Great place to bring your classic car and fuel up. Take pics and be photographed. Nothing like blending into the surroundings and being part of the bigger picture.

This store was a great surprise. We were expecting the typical gouging you get when in places like this, but this store was very reasonable. 3 dollar hotdogs were cheaper and better than the ones I get at home. We also got a cold chicken lunch box for 8.99. The cookies included were incredible! Also, the cashier was very friendly. What a nice experience to top off an incredible day in the North Cascades area!

Great store and MUCH NEEDED in the little town of Newhalem!!! It is the last store that I saw for a very very long time. I believe it may be the last store before heading over the mountains(IT DOES NOT HAVE GASOLINE). There was a wide range selection of snacks, medicines, convenient store items, camping supplies, etc. I was surprised by the candy selection!! The only thing that I disliked is that it closed at like 6PM. Very early.

Great spot to stop and get a snack plus drink. Memorabilia of the area and history is for sale also. Camping essentials are available as well. If you haven't already tried the fudge, you are indeed missing out.

Internet ad says open 9:30 - 4:30, seven days/week. I was there on Saturday, 5/11/19. Store was closed. Sign in window said "Winter Hours," closed Saturday and Sunday.What's up with that? When does winter end here? Pass has been open for weeks.

They have a strange schedule. Closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. One would think being open on the weekend would make more sense since it's customers are tourists. Probably hard to staff due to the location.

Great place when you're camping to pick up a few supplies grab a sandwich grab a gourmet expresso made on site or just a plain cup of coffee they have sandwiches cold cuts and refrigerated selections as well as the standard chips and basic camping gear nice convenient little shop
