Owners are stellar. Mom and pop. Great folks. I had another location booked nearby with no AC during 100° Temps. I was absolutely cooking alive there.Called at 2030 hrs and they bent over backwards to hook me up. I showed up and mom HUSTLED to get the room clean and set up. I am so grateful for their work.Comfy, spacious room. Clean floors, clean bathroom, comfortable bed. AC unit is a powerhouse. Decent WIFI. Only major downside is inconvenient power outlet locations. Easy to work thru.Also note that they're total angels, when I got into their office, they were rehabbing an injured rooster out of the goodness of their heart.24/7 service. I'm happy (and not dying of heat stroke).

Charged us way more then advertised no wifi was told some time it works and some time it don't it never worked no phone no complementary shampoo i wouldn't stay again she changed the price multiple times ended up paying 150 not sure how she came up with that i would not recommend pretty sure they have bedbugs.

Very nice owner. Room had comfortable beds, a nice shower, nice TV, had a microwave and mini-fridge, and was spacious. There was a musty smell upon arrival, and the heater was old and slow to start. Also, the bathroom could have used some more attentive cleaning. Overall a nice place to stay and I would go again.

We ended up here pretty late last night, since everywhere else up the coast was booked thanks to the amazing eclipse. The woman up front was beyond nice and so accommodating, she went the extra mile. The room was clean and huge, and they have real cable TV. I will stay again if I am in town, no doubt. The cat and the giant puppy were a nice bonus. Overall great experience.

Got grossed out. Reserved the 3 queen room through Priceline. Was almost $200. The room was not available when we got there. It was rented to someone else before we got there at about 8pm. The lady shuffled people around so we could have the room. She didn't change the bedding after they left. The sheets had spots of blood on them. Our feet were black within a few minutes of walking across the floor. The room stank of urine. The wifi was horrible and we kept having to switch routers to get a signal as our signal kept dying. No breakfast. Dinky shower, no tub.Woke up the kids early to get out of there first thing in the morning as the place was grossing us out. Do not recommend.In comparison, the night before we had to 2 rooms with 2 queen size beds in a different hotel in Longview for the same price. It had carpeted floors. Was nice and clean and included breakfast had a shower and tub and reliable wifi.

The owner and his wife were very nice, the room was super big with 3 beds inside, i was lucky enaugh to get the last room . The whole place looked like historical and renovated from an existing horse racing stable I believe, as the way the building was situated, we had e very nice experience and slept very well. Very quiet.

When I got there to the Golden Lion I thought it looked ok. I went in to get a room there was a young man there that seemed like the son of the owners. He was very pleasant, he had to ask about a pricing on the room and the older guy comes out to give him answers. Well He has got to be the rudest person I had come across that day. If It hadn't been so late and me being on the road all day then I would have left and went elsewhere. He had such a snotty attitude and was just so rude! Well, I got the room key and the younger guy was telling me about the free coffee. I told him I wouldn't be there by the time they woke up. I think he was pretty embarrassed by the way his dad acted. I did tell them I would never be back. Also the room looked nice but had a smell about it that was annoying. And I hear they charge if you use the towels. So I had brought my own. All in all not a good deal!!

The Hospitality industry isn't easy, however, the Golden Lion Manager makes it seem so!FRIENDLY, CLEAN, AND QUIET! If you are looking for a roomy environment, wood floors, strong WiFi, strong stand-up shower, comfortable beds, couch, and a mini fridge and microwave....then your set.Not every room is the same....so ask or check ahead. Our stay again was unexpectedly quiet and comfortable. Yes, they are also pet-friendly, I forgot to mention that.And say hi to "Elmer" :)

These people have done more to help the community out as well as anyone in that manner, than people know. I personally have seen the many many that this agencies staff have done in helping every day people out from allover. They are friendly, understanding, accommodating, and just plain good folks that you don't see anymore! I love these people. Thank you so much for the things you have done for others, and to help me out as well. You are truly wonderful people!

My wife chose this establishment because of the recent rating 5 months ago stating that the rooms were being renovated, we are very happy we did!The host and hostess of the hotel are absolutely wonderful. My wife called approximately 25 minutes prior to arriving and was able to book a double queen room and was anxious to take a rest during our long trip. The room is very tidy and clean. NO DUST ON ANY FURNITURE, THE BATHROOM IS VERY CLEAN, AND THE LINENS ARE CLEANS!!We do not watch television; however, for the avid t.v viewers there is a very nice flat screen mounted on the wall. We stayed in room 5 just in case you are wondering.*two things that I would like to note is that there is no iron and ironing board, and blow dryer.

I was unable to stay at this place because the person that answered the phone was not interested in talking to me about confirming my reservation. I just needed a confirmation. I guess they do well enough without new customers. I cancel in an email that I cc'd myself on because this does not distill trust nor any consideration toward customer service.

I was in town for a funeral and I booked 3 nights here and it was not a pleasant experience. The owner lady was rude as could be. Upon arrival I was told one price, by a young man, which I paid. Later that night the lady came knocking on my door telling me I owed her more money. I argued for a minute but decided whatever, I'll just pay. Maybe the kid told me the wrong price. I went in to pay the rest the next morning and the lady told me I owed her twice what she had told me the night before. I paid her what she had told me the night before and stormed out. My party and I decided to drive home through a 4 hour torrential rain storm and a 5 hour blizzard rather than stay the third night. The floor had a wet spot which I didn't know if it was from the leaking fridge or because the rain had soaked through. There was hair on the floor of the bathroom. The free wifi didn't work for us. The second morning I had to call the office because the people staying in the room next to us had left their dog in the room and the dog barked for over an hour and was clawing at the door. This was between 530-630 in the morning. Ridiculous. Needless to say there will not be a return visit. We would have been better off sleeping in the car.

These rooms were very clean. A little out dated furniture wise but a newer flat screen TV. The people running the place are awesome. Very accommodating.

I don't recommend it. It's a 35 dollar a night, charges 85 dollars. Pretty much a dump but has a clean bed, good tv and we were able to get off the road and restIt is pet friendly

They charged more than was quoted but it was too late to go elsewhere. The refrigerator didn't work. There was no hot water. The ice machine was broken. There was no coffee. The door going outside had large gaps around it.

The only nice thing was the cat in the office. Everything else was not good. Room smelled of cigarettes. It was unclean with trash on floor under beds. The shower wasn't bad. Service was unsatisfactory. The bed was horrible. Not recommended.
