Very caring and friendly staff! You can tell the animals here are loved and taken care of while they await their forever home. The team was very responsive to our request of wanting to meet one of the dogs here and even allowed my dad to foster before adopting the sweet dog. Needless to say, my dad and his new friend are very happy. We would highly recommend Whitman County Humane Society!

Papaya was hit by car and we took her to Pullman College Vet. Owner did not claim her so my friend asked to foster her and adopt her and they are now fostering her . These pictures were taken before her leg was amputated. And Whitman humane society have been great the staff is so kind and animal lovers to the fullest they answer all questions they call and check on her they are just great .

This place is absolutely amazing. They are a non profit and a non kill shelter. The staff work so hard here to help with a wide range of emotions and stages for domestic animals of all different types including dogs, cats,rabbits,guinea pigs, etc. Donations are always appreciated as volunteering your free time as well. There is a screening process for volunteers but definitely worth the effort. Please support your local animal shelter and have your pets spayed and neutered and vaccinated.

I tried to visit their adoptable cats twice, and was turned away both times due to being understaffed. Open hours do not match when they are actually open and able to provide services, so I will be adopting in Moscow.

We’ve had our kitty Leland for almost four years now. He has been our pride and joy since. We got him when we just moved into out of our dorm room and is the most amazing cat. The humane society allows you to hang out with the animals as long as you want, checks with your landlord to make sure they have a secure place to stay and is very nurturing and caring facility. Clean and kind and can’t thank them enough for giving us our son. He is the light and love of our lives, he will always be our Palouse kitty, fair price and kind folks, can’t thank you enough!!!

I went to rent a live trap during a time when the weather outside was below freezing in order to rescue a stray cat. Instead of actually caring or helping me, they wanted to question my intention is trapping a stray cat, and accused me of leaving the cat in the cold temperature during the day and in the freezing temperature. The best part was telling me to come back in a few days when the weather was a few degrees warmer to rent a trap. The women who work there are idiots, and the place smelled like urine. They obviously have a power trip and felt the need to refrain anyone from using their traps. It’s no wonder they had a mass exodus a while back. Just like everything in Pullman, this place is a joke.

The first visit was a five star and I love Megan over there. But on my second visit I was promised that I wouldn't receive any hassle on housing a second kitten, and the lady that was over there asked for additional documentation from my landlord and did not honor what Megan told me. So, I'll probably come by to give my first kitten a check up and I won't be coming back here after that.

Awesome staff, you can tell it's not just a job for them, they obviously love and care for every animal. I adopted 2 cats from them a year and a half ago. They had FeLV, so I only had them for a year and a half before they passed recently. I talked to a lady there about where to find a good vet for euthanizing my boys when it was time. Very helpful at a very hard time.ADOPT DON'T SHOP!Lol, sorry I had to.

I loved every second spent here! The whole process was easy but very thorough. The staff clearly know their stuff, and a couple of months ago I brought my new baby home! This was my first time adopting a pet from a shelter, but everyone was so friendly and the experience was amazing.I walked in, and they allowed me all the time in the world to see the cats and hold and pet them until I was ready and sure to adopt! One of the staff then sat with me and ran me through ALL, and I mean ALL the information they could possibly give me in relation to my new cat, which I very much appreciated. They also were very informative during and about the entire adoption process (paperwork, microchipping, etc). They even kept my cat overnight to make sure he was ready for the transition. My cat was quite shy at first but within the first week or two, he has become the sweetest most cuddly cat and now waits for me at the door whenever I come home from school after a long day! :) I hope to come back again some time in the future! Thanks everyone! <3

We LOVE THIS PLACE. Excellent people who genuinely care for their "guests" as they seek out their furever homes. We got our Wiley E. Cat there (he was a little older-- and they expressed how grateful we were to adopt him). HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting a pet there-- thank you for all that you do for these critters!

Didn't think we'd be going home with a new baby today . . . But I guess the time was right. They have many more, frequently changing selection of adoptable animals. The staff was so friendly & helpful. Appointments are needed to visit. Adoptions prices are reasonable.

Very hard-working staff and volunteers! They even had me fill out a questionnaire beforehand and sat me down for an interview to make sure the cat I was adopting would be happy with me and compatible with my household. This really impressed me, since it cuts down on animal returns and shows they truly value making sure the animals they help are going to homes where they will be best cared for.

I rescued 2 beautiful kitties that had been hanging around our home and neighbors home and were living under our storage shed. They were so sweet and with the help of Whitman County Humane Society they were able to take them and vet and spay and neuter!They will be up for adoption and find wonderful loving homes.Thank You so much♥️

Got to adopt 2 kittens very well taken care of and happy and even received a free visit at any local vet for first exam. Had only 2 day from the adoption to schedule the exam but the exam could be months out and still free so that really helped us afford to continue on the vaccines. Would highly recommend going here to adopt before buying a family pet from the store

Nice facility, friendly staff and very unique and well thought-out spaces for the animals. The downside was the absolutely inefficient and bizarre reception area. Hard to get in and out, pass by anyone or carry anything.

You should really think hard about bringing in a new family pet, so, think about what you want before you walk in the door of this "forever home finding" family of do-gooders! Or, alternatively you'll end up leaving with all of the animals. Your call. The staff are truly amazing, knowledgeable and care so deeply for their furry friends that you'll learn more than you ever knew before you get out of there. I got Klaus just yesterday and the staff at the humane society was extremely helpful and the process was quick! I don't know if it says anywhere on the website, but I didn't catch it. The Whitman County Humane Society is open from 1-6, but you aren't allowed to adopt or interact with the cats after 5, so if that's what you are looking for go before 5pm.

The Humane Society is an important organization, so it is a pity that this one is staffed by such worthless incompetents. My cat was missing so I contacted the local Humane Society and gave them a description of hum and his microchip number. Later, when someone brought him in, they scanned his microchip, and looked up his information, and then did nothing. They made no effort to contact me, and inform me that my cat had been found, nor did they bother to get any of the contact information for the people who have my cat. The only reason I knew he had been found was because I got an alert from Home Again. As of this moment I still don't have my cat and I have no clue who has him. Thanks for nothing.

Seems strange that WCHS charges over double what other area shelters charge for a kitten. Pullman charges $165 vs you can drive across the border to Moscow and they charge $80. Plus, if the animal is an "ambassador", they charge upwards of $225 for a kitten. I understand that shelters update vaccinations, spay/neuter etc.. but the price difference seems a little ridiculous.
