The place is gross. They let multiple cats roam free all day and get onto everything now. Everything is covered in cat hair. Can’t shop here anymore as we’re allergic to cats. Not missing much, everything is way overpriced anyways, it was just convenient for needing one thing. Don’t shop here if you have allergies.

This place is amazing and is the only place I trust to take my pets to, either this one or the one over in Moscow.They have a wide selection of supplies for pets as well as high quality food brands. They also sell small pets ranging from hamsters to spiders. A huge thing for me though are the selection of natural treats such as real antlers and nutritious animal parts that would otherwise be discarded (pig noses, chicken heads, duck heads, salmon skin, chicken feet, etc.)100% recommend!

Generally amazing knowledge base, & extremely generous. I purchased the wrong setup for my beardie & they exchanged it AND gave me a discount so I wouldn’t have to pay the difference. It was totally my fault, but they just wanted to be kind. They also know EVERYTHING about bulbs, food, & accessories. On top of that, they helped me find a great limited ingredient cat food for my kitty’s allergies. We exchange experience on terrariums, & I’ve even brought moss in for an employee to take home. A really great bunch of people here. 10/10.

Great people who actually care about their customers as well as the animal creatures owned by the customers. Definitely 10/10 store. I would give a higher rating if there was one. Thank you to the guy who helped me get my dog his wound care today if he ever sees this.

I love coming here and much prefer supporting this business over other pet supply stores. I’ve always received so much help with each pet I’ve brought home, even when I was sold a very sick betta fish from another store. This week, one gentleman, tall with a beard, asked if he could help me find anything, in which I was looking for a stainless steel fountain for my cat. They were out, but he took the time to transfer one from the Moscow location over to Pullman and I was able to get it within just a couple days. I appreciate their help so much, and their store location is very convenient.They also have such a great selection of pet stuff; I’m impressed. Their prices are a bit more than a grocery store which I would expect, but for a family-owned pet supply store, I really think their prices are reasonable. I will say the staff seems quite shy, but they’ve always been very kind to me when I speak to them and I’m always welcomed in.

I’ve always had a great experience. A nice blonde woman at the pullman location gave me some great advice on aquatic plants. I’ll never be going back to petco again, since they’re uneducated on what they sell and display merchandise incorrectly. I love pets are people too.

Walking into the store it seems like nothing special for a pet store. A good selection of fish, a few reptiles, standard small animal section. The dog food though is a decent price (mine is cheaper than Petco and chewy) plus they have a bag-buy program which I am all for. Some things are more expensive but I expect that from a small local store.So why five stars??? I am kind of standoffish and don't like talking but the guys at the Pullman store can be a lot of fun to talk shop with. Talking with them I can tell you this:1.) The ferrets in the small cage if they are sleeping its because they were in the playpen in the back and running around and playing. If they are fat well some are and some aren't doesn't mean they are fed wrong.2.) They handle small pets quite often. I got a gerbil from them and he is super friendly and easy to handle.3.) They do know their fish, they keep fish that are easy for the average person to keep.4.) Its locally run and its great to see the owner's daughter helping out some days.Overall its a great little store and I really enjoy going in a visiting.

This store has a decent selection and the owners are pretty knowledgeable. The store has another location in Moscow, Idaho, which is much larger and contains different animals. I recommend visiting both and supporting this business since they take much better care of their animals than a regular pet store.

I've seen some of the other reviews on here, and I honestly can't speak for them. My first few trips here weren't anything spectacular, and yes, I do miss Barnacle Bill's! the place and the owners were just awesome. Now that I'm a regular, I have some go-to staff members here who are super friendly and help me out, taking time to help me select fish species and equipment anytime. Prices aren't exactly low, but eh. Better than the Moscow store, where you'll be treated like an unnecessary nuisance.Edit: A lot has changed in the years since my last review. Both the Pullman and Moscow stores are great to shop at, and the animals sold are always healthy. Great employees. Love shopping locally, and they have a decent selection of supplies.

I’m sorry but for a pet store to be closed on a Sunday and regularly close at 6 is ridiculous. I have work all day and the only other option is to drive all the way to Moscow. With those hours who are you marketing the store to. Very disappointed .

This Store is a great store to shop at. It is handicapped friendly. Plenty of parking outside. Easy to find and highly visual.The Staff are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We visited the store looking for a special diet product for our Siberian Husky who is a finicky eater. The Staff member walked with us and suggested a special blend that comes highly recommended.My Wife and I wholeheartedly recommend this Store. We are sure you will find what your looking for your Pet.

Staff is usually pretty rude. The employees are so stone faced it's almost uncomfortable to smile at them and say hello while they just stare back. Good luck finding any pre packaged bugs that aren't already dead. Betta fish kept in cups. Rough handling of fish the few times I bought them here. If you need something niche for your exotic pets they probably have it. But, be prepared to pay twice the price of the petco 20 min away in moscow.

Decent store, but they’re always understaffed and their prices are ridiculous. If I had any other place to buy my roaches I would. Their reptiles are also insanely pricey for no reason. They have beta fish in cups which is AWFUL, and they sell bowls as well which is extremely unethical. If you have any other places to do your pet shopping, please do. Don’t support these people who take bad care of their fish and jack up their prices.

The employees are friendly and helpful. The store is very conveniently located for me. I don't have to go far when I am low on something. I am particular about the food I feed my cat, and I am also particular about trying to get the best deal on it. I was surprised that this local store sold the brand I use for basically the same price as all of the online retailers. I will save a few cardboard boxes and delivery service labor for heavy items, and grab the food myself from Pets are People Too while I'm out running errands.

Every time I go here the experience has been great. The store owner/manager is extremely nice and helpful. While some items are spendy, a lot of things are cheaper than other places! I read some of the reviews on the fish and can honestly say that of the fish I bought there none of them have died.They support local breeders to which I absolutely love. Great pet store!

your ferrets need a bigger cage. it's neglectful to have them in such a tiny cage for so long. no room to walk or play whatsoever, and the male ferret that's currently there is extremely obese because he gets no exercise and the food they're fed isn't adequate for ferrets and too high in carbs. They're not even supposed to have wood chips for bedding because it's bad for their respiratory and feet. Please get them a two story ferret nation cage it's the least you could do. as well as the ball that's been eaten to shreds in the corner that will cause a blockage from swallowing pieces of it and eventually death. really disappointed in their living conditions.

A staff member, a male cashier, tall with a beard, in particular, can be very dry, short, and rude and not helpful, and their frozen mice are absolutely not killed humanely and look as if they were literally tortured before death, while being WILDLY over priced. The only thing I enjoy about this store, aside from the name, is the quality of dog toys and accessories. My snake light bulbs however, are poor quality and burn out much to fast for 12 to 15 dollars a bulb. It's a shame that a store with a name like that seems to need more empathetic employees and better quality pet items.

This is a great family-owned pet store! They have just about everything you need for any kind of pet and probably have things you never thought of. My kids enjoy getting to see the pets that they have for sale there like the birds, lizards, snakes, frogs, turtles, fish, gerbils, rats, hamsters, and even chinchillas. Don't worry though they treat all of these really well and even remove some of them from their cages for a break on occasion. They also have sample size dog and cat foods that they give away, locally made dog treats, and plenty of advice.

The employee who helped me was very nice and helpful. Sadly I did not catch her name. She spent lots of time talking to me about birds and let me interact with them and then helped me choose 2 pet rats instead. She was able to answer every question I had about every animal we talked about!

The staff here have always been extremely helpful to me and very welcoming. They also recognize my dog for sure, even if I may not be familiar. I drive to PetCo if I want something specific that they don't have, but in general I consider myself lucky that this store's in Pullman.

My daughter bought two pet rats here, supposedly two boys. Two weeks later, we had to take one rat to the vet (unrelated), where we were told that this rat was female instead. We called Pets Are People Too, who said we could exchange one for another gender. If you've ever attempted exchanging a family member from a 7 and 10 year old, you'll understand that that is not an option. Now we're stuck paying $150 to get the male rat fixed."Pets are people too"? Catchy name, but you really should try harder to live up to it.

I highly recommend that all local pet owners shop locally at Pets Are People too in either Moscow or Pullman. I have trusted these folks for over 2 decades! I owned indoor and outdoor fish, tiny frogs, a mini house rabbit,Zebra finches, cockatiel, and dogs of many mixed breeds. Thank you!!

I just want the store owner or manager of Pets Are People Too to be aware of some problems with one of their employees. There is a young Asian man who works in the Moscow store who has been rude to me for the last time today. I was in the store a few months ago buying gravel for one of my aquariums and this Asian man kept trying to talk me out of the colors of gravel I wanted! I wasn't sure why he had an issue with the gravel color I wanted in the first place but, he seemed determined to get his way! LOL! I thought it was a bit odd at the time but decided to let it go thinking maybe he was having a bad day or something. Today, I stopped by to look at the Bettas since I recently lost my old one. I noticed there was a new lighted display case for the Bettas which wasn't there the last time I looked at them. I didn't realize there were airlines attached to the top of all the clear cups the Bettas were in so I picked up one and held it up so I could get a better idea of what color the Betta was, how long the fins were, if he looked healthy, etc. The young Asian man was working again and he walked over to me, took the Betta out of my hands and said in an extremely harsh tone, "You can't pick them up!" So, I started toward the front door to leave since I didn't see a Betta I was interested in and the other young man working ( a very nice one!) told me when they may have a new shipment of Bettas coming in since there weren't many to choose from. I turned around and said, "If you won't let me get a good look at them, I'll buy one at Petco". I wasn't rude in any way, I was just stating a fact. The nice young man just shook his head "yes" as I walked out the door! So, I'm guessing something like this has happened before to other customers. I wish I had gotten the names of these two young men but I was too shocked to even think about it! I'm sure the manager of the store knows who I'm talking about. I'm sorry to say that Pets Are People Too lost a customer today! I have been buying cat food and cat supplies, aquarium supplies, fish and fish supplies there for the four years that I have lived in Moscow. Most of the employees have been very nice but I have had my fill of this young Asian man who seems to think being rude to customers is acceptable! I don't mind shopping at Petco anyway since they have a very large selection of items, I have found the employees there to always be VERY helpful and cheerful, they have even gone out of their way for me a few times and I really believe that's what makes a good employee! I try to support the smaller, independent businesses around Moscow whenever possible but, in this instance, I have decided that Petco is much easier to work with and I don't walk out the door feeling like I just had an extremely negative experience! I will not step foot in Pets Are People Too again nor will I recommend the store to anyone. So, I am sorry, but so long Pets Are People Too! I will miss you and wish you the best of luck...P.S. I would give zero stars if possible. Also, I tried to send this post to the feedback area of the website but could not get the message sent for some reason! I also posted it to their Facebook page so other people would be aware of my experience but I got a message that it had to be reviewed first! So, I am assuming this will NOT be posted to Facebook as it is a negative review, LOL!
