Ok - I know that Ferdinand's is an iconic destination and delivers a certain style in the experience with the decor and the great service, and none of this can be ignored. In fact it entirely carries the appeal of visiting here, as well as the rating it receives.As for the ice cream, I will say that the texture and mouth feel and ultra creaminess are superb. The choice of flavors, on the other hand, while solid are indistinct, and, in my opinion, overly sweet. (BTW - the "overly sweet" club has a number of acclaimed members, such as Ben & Jerry's who sits among the pantheon of revered ice cream purveyors).This rating is delivered in the context of great ice cream that's emerging up & down the west coast, such as Salt & Straw in Portland, Molly Moons in Seattle, and Gunther's in Sacramento. While I'd say Ferdinand's is easily a peer in terms of quality, it lacks uniqueness that would set it apart. In my opinion, having unique flavors would accomplish this. If Ferdinand's does do this then I would be very excited to see it leap to the forefront of great ice cream on the west coast.

A nice treat after a walk around the campus in a sunny summer day. Ice cream is good and they also offer coffee, I tried the capuchino and It was a perfect match witn my ice cream.They also sell cheese in the store; they have a beautiful canned presentation. I just learn that this presentation comes from a research done since 1940. When they created a cheese that did not develop gas. This presentation is perfect when you need to transport the cheese.It was our first time. We asked about the cheeses and they offered us samples and explained us the characteristics. My favorite was of their famous “Cougard Gold”.

Woah. Move over Molly Moon. Watch out Bi-Rite. Even Garden Creamery and Earnest Ice Cream need to keep an eye on this place. Incredibly creamy creations from the WSU student body at a fraction of the cost of normal artisan scoops.One scoop sets you back $2.25 and a grabber (oatmeal cookie sandwich) is $3.50. These are the two items I bought: a one scoop split of apple crisp/vanilla cookie dough and a huckleberry grabber.Don’t come here for wild concoctions. Flavors taste traditional and fresh. This is creamy on a Garden Creamery (SF) level. Hands down the best ice cream in Washington.

fast service and the BEST cheese and ice cream. my boyfriend and his dad had the milkshakes and they loved those as well. cant go wrong with anything here! everything is so tasty. they also sell honey and seasonings. cheese comes in little bite size baggies, wedges, and cans.

I've had the opportunity to have ice cream in many states, and 8 different countries, but ultimately I always say "it's good, but it's not Ferdinands..." Ferdinands is certainly worthy on the world stage for ice cream in the same ways as it's cheese options.You basically can't go wrong with any choice of ice cream, at Ferdinands, but I personally gravitate towards the huckleberry ripple.

Had a cappuccino ice cream (junior version). It was already a big portion for me. It was delicious 😋 if you are near the campus, definitely give it a try. Cougar gold $30 which was cheaper than the book store

Got to try the Huckleberry ice cream here. Their cheese is good too. Cougar Gold in a can. Cheese in a can? Very interesting. Go upstairs to the observation room to look down on the cheese production room. Fun place to go to on your way from Spokane to Moscow, ID. Located in Pullman, WA.

I don’t know why some have to write a novel to explain their experience,people don’t want to read at length what you feel about ice cream. The cheese is amazing, the ice cream very good. You will not be disappointed. Worth the drive. Favorite place to get cheese. 😎🇺🇸

Ice cream was on the melty side. There were a bunch of flavors sold out on our visit. The Apple Cup flavor was pretty good, though, not many ice creams out there with apple in them. Also, best to get your Cougar Gold cheese at the source if you can. At the very least it saves you some money.

Yum, even better than Molly Moon's ice cream. Can't get much closer to the source of ice cream than at Ferdinand's! A single scoop on a waffle cone is a lot of ice cream, double up if you can handle it. Or go with their cups of ice cream if you are the tidy type. Or have a sundae or milkshake!Get some cheese to take home, like Cougar Gold, while you are there.Don't worry about the line, you need the time to decide what flavor(s) you want.

This place is always busy and always oh-so-good! We had the Tin Lizzy ice cream along with a milkshake. The prices are inexpensive, which makes you want to order more than you need. Always a treat when I’m in town.

The Ice cream itself is great, but the staff must wear gloves and hair cover. Please Do not but your bare hand in middle of my bowl and do not grab the spoon from the wrong place. I would never be back.

The ice cream was very good. But since I'm so frequently told how it's the best on the planet, it didn't quite live up to expectations. I'd say it's worth a trip if you're already in Pullman, but it's not worth taking a trip to Pullman just to try this ice cream.

This is one of just a couple places you absolutely have to get to in Pullman. Both the ice cream and cheese are excellent. If you factor in the price, the value really can't be beat.After reading other reviews i want to comment on the ice cream quality. Is it the best ice cream on the planet? Nope, i've had (slightly) better. But it is definitely top-tier, premium ice cream. At half the price. Is it too sweet? That's a judgement call obviously but, yeah, it is in the category of "sweet" ice cream. I had affogato so that is exactly what you want. I also got to taste a huckleberry shake, and the fruit flavor was more remarkable than the sweetness.

Outstanding ice cream. The cheese is magnificent! Parking is a bit of a problem. There are 4 parking places. Paid $8 to park at a lot next door. If we had had the app it would have been less. My daughter is a student at wsu.

Absolutely the best ice cream and cheese there is. My only complaint is that parking is a challenge. Be prepared to use an app to pay for parking, or risk getting a ticket. There are no parking meters that accept coins. At the same time, it's worth it to get the Gold!

Samples of cheese, ice cream, viewing area to watch employees make cheese. Ferdinands has the best price on the famous Cougar Gold and all their other flavors and the ice cream they make is so creamy. Cheese curds available for $9.99 and an espresso bar at store, too.Close to no parking and be careful not to get a ticket at the metered parking.
