This is where we get all of our cat food and litter. Store is good, people are helpful and friendly. I took off one star because way too often they are out of our favorite cat food (WholeHearted is an in-house brand, so they have full control of the supply). They are often also out of our favorite cat litter, or have it in smaller (more expensive) bags than the large bags we prefer. But otherwise, we like it and will keep going here.

Twice now I have tried to purchase a couple small fish and twice have had to leave with a very sad little girl. If we were not trying to use the gift card my daughter received for her birthday (to adopt her own fish) I would be going elsewhere.I have had fish for almost a decade, am experienced with caring for our tank and fish. I have yet to lose one to anything besides 'old age'. The first time we attempted to buy a couple inexpensive fish, I was told they wouldn't sell to me if my tank hasn't been set up and cycled for 48+ hours. As I have an established tank, I wasn't purchasing a new one and was told I would not be sold the fish.Last night, we again tried to purchase the two small fish - we knew exactly what we wanted, the tank was freshly cleaned and had been cycled etc for the past week - although the store was open, they would not sell the fish (less than $10 total) because it was after 7 pm and they have a policy about impulse buying fish! I explained I was not making an impulse buy, that we had this planned for weeks but was again told to leave.Where does it say no fish sales after 7 pm? I could not find it posted in the store, near the fish, with the business hours, on the FB page, nor did anyone who worked their ever mention this policy ever and I have purchased fish several times. The employee who denied us originally even said to come back, they were open 9am to 8pm!I realize Petco couldn't care less about my crying daughter, our time, gas etc...but DO BETTER.

Customer service/cashiers are wonderful! They will even help carry things and put the heavy bags in my car. The checkout line can get a bit long, and things go out of stock. That's why I gave the store 4 stars instead of 5. I have not used their grooming service.

I'm very satisfied with my most recent purchase (a Jumbo enclosed cat litter box) and the helpfulness and courtesy of the Associates who helpd me.The only reason I gave it an 8 instead of a 10, is because when I browsed over the cat litter options, I did not see the type I prefer which I am able to purchase at my smaller, local pet shop. Petco should feature more options in cat litter - unless I simply missed something. Over all, Petco is a reliable place to shop. To be completely honest, my closest Petco is in another town, and I always go to my local pet shop first before venturing outward, and only visit Petco if I can't find what I need at my small local pet shop. This takes nothing away from Petco.

Let me start with saying sterling grooms our dogs and she is amazing. But i had the most awful experience today in the store. A male employee who definitely wasn't happy with his job., helped us unwilling in the fish area. We got some snails to help with our tank. All of them were definitely dead. I will be returning the dead snails and will be going elsewhere.

They did a great job on my dogs bath.but the way you pay was better before now u get your dog first and try holding your dog and trying to pay with them trying to set up another appointment not alolt of time went in

It’s ridiculous, no one can answer the damn phone! But their automated VM says press here to make a grooming appointment for a week out, wait and wait get e mails saying it’s all set can’t wait to see your pet but come to find out by clicking in the make appointment button does not make it in Poulsbo it’s in Seattle. Day of have to cancel because I’m not taking the ferry to Seattle. Start over book an appointment for tomorrow, stupid me answered all the pre check in answers and almost 5pm they call because he had anxiety, allergies (who doesn’t this year) and maybe a heart condition they can’t cut his hair!! UGH!!

It’s really sad to see a business go from being good to being really rough. Overflowing trash cans, Random pricing and really poor management and revolving door in the grooming area has forever changed my impression of Petco.I have switched to superior pets in Poulsbo or Country pet in Kingston or Petsmart in Silverdale. All three of these businesses are significantly better than Petco in Poulsbo.

We visited petco poulsbo branch for my pup's grooming need. At the check out my dog was partially wet, When I asked the groomer (Christine) Are you going to dry him fully? She said your puppy does not like the dryer. It is a puppy, he needs to socialize and learn the grooming process. I also noticed that my pup's nails were trimmed unevenly. Top of everthing they asked me more money than what they advertised. I showed the pricing to them from my cell phone. The groomer called Mark ( I think he is a supervisor/owner for the grooming services) He just looked at me without saying anything back. I told them you know what charge me extra it is okay but I won't come back here for grooming neither for shopping from petco store. There you go how bad business ruins their reputation

Came here the night before picking up our new pup to gather some supplies. The location was clean, organized, and had pretty much everything I was looking for. It's pretty speedy, but that's to be expected at a speciality store. Staff wasn't overly friendly but not unpleasant. I'd return, and my pup agrees!

Not happy with you guys taking away the at register free bag redemption and it has to be done on the app. Since I went to redeem our free bag, I did not have the app. My wife has the app on her phone but she was not with me. It is a big disappointment.

I mostly use this Petco for all of my dogs needs… I always find the staff to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Kudos to Mia in the Fish Department! We have just begun another try at aquariums, but this time with live plants. We visited Petco in Poulsbo and spoke with Mia. What a treasure! She is so friendly and knowledgeable, and especially patient with all our questions. She showed us which tank treatments work best and which to avoid and gave us great recommendations. She commiserated with us about our previous algae problem and suggested ways to prevent problems with our live plants. We will definitely search out Mia's smiling face each time we go to Petco for our aquarium needs. She's definitely a keeper!

Our dog was injured here our first and last visit. He had to go the animal for stitches. His dew claw was shaved off. I blame Petco for not training better. We won’t be back.

I have shopped at the Poulsbo location since it opened. They usually have what I need in stock and the brands I prefer. The staff has been somewhat knowledgeable, always helpful, and pleasant. I will continue to shop at Petco and recommend this store to others.

Such a fun place to take the doggo. The place is always super clean, and the staff are some of the friendliest people in town! The treats are always fresh, and I'm really looking forward to getting some fish for our daughter when she's just a tad bit older.

I keep coming in to see if the store is carrying 2 products - Nulo Freestyle Adult Trim Dry Cat Food (light blue bag) & Okocat Super Soft Cat Litter (the hot pink box). The store carries other versions of these brands, but not the 2 items I want to buy, so I typically leave & order off of Amazon instead. I was in a pinch on the cat food the last time I went in & ended up buying another Nulo Indoor Dry Cat Food, but it's a bit higher in calories, so that part I'm not stoked on (I have a heavy cat). BUT - the food was way less expensive at the store than it is on Amazon so that made me super happy! The girl at the counter was super nice as well.

My mom unexpectedly got my son a puppy. So to say I was not prepared was not a joke. I placed an online for pick up order an hour before they closed. I waited 30 minutes, didn't have an order ready email yet, but made to 20 minute drive to the store. There was a young lady stocking stuff towards the front, I explained my situation, and she immediately stopped what she was doing to go pick my order. She was super super kind about it and wished me good luck 😆. I wish I had gotten her name. I appreciate her and the great customer service.

Dead or missing bugs. I ordered online and a friend picked them up. I ordered 4 containers of 25 superworms each. My friend brought them back and the bag stunk so bad, I cannot imagine how anyone picking the order didn't smell them, and/or thought that was OK to sell to someone. Clearly they didn't bother inspecting them before they sold them, dead worms stink really bad, they had to notice. I inspected the containers and found dead bugs, only about 40 were alive. One container only had 5 bugs. I've shopped in store before as well and many times they keep their superworms refrigerated which kills them. If they can't sort how to keep bugs alive and healthy perhaps they shouldn't be selling animals.

Grooming prices have gotten outrageous. For a 20 lb dog I'm charged $63 and then another $7 for a shave and brush-out and then an additional 5.99 for "materials". This is all new. When I asked the groomer what those materials were, she didn't have an answer. She told me to call corporate. When I called corporate I asked the same thing and this gal from Customer Service and she didn't have an answer either. It should be noted that I had my other dog in last week (same breed and size, and exact same haircut.) and I wasn't charged the $7 fee for a brush-out & shave when both dogs had the exact same hair cut. There seems to be no standard fee here, but just what they think can can get out of me? This is shady at its best. You've lost a loyal customer and I will absolutely be telling everyone I know that uses Petco that they are getting ripped off.
