Best biscuits and gravy either of us have ever had! Delicious! They make their own sausage! We split a half order. We went for breakfast and lunch on the same day! From our experience, breakfast is better than lunch, but it's also served all day, so there's that! I made my own omelet with ham, spinach, and feta. So good, Jay had hash and his side of hashbrowns needed its own plate! Both times our server was excellent! The music is fantastic and the decor is very nostalgic. We would absolutely recommend this place.Parking: If the streets full up, there's a parking lot by the Marina just a couple of minutes walk away.Kid-friendliness: Kids would love it!

I have been going here off and onThe staff here are friendlyThe waitress Katie is a nice person. As I was there on March 15, 2024, they were promoting an Easter item called the Peep Milkshake where you can pick the color of your drink and the color of your peep. This place as a 50’s atmosphere with trivia on the walls from the 1950’s trivia and little Almanacs of things that happed in the 60’s 70’s 80’s,& 90’s of what the cost of living was or how much a loaf of bread was. This place is greatI normally order a garden burger here, but they have all sorts of other things here. I would recommend coming here after exploring the historical parts of downtown PoulsboVegetarian options: Garden burgerThey also have a few impossible burger optionsDietary restrictions: I’m on a soft food diet, so I enjoyed a delicious milkshakeBut they have vegan options for those who can’t have meat eitherKid-friendliness: I don’t see why kids can’t enjoy food hereWheelchair accessibility: I did see a ramp

The Green Light Diner in Poulsbo, Washington is a 1950s style diner. Originally this restaurant was MorMor Bistro & Bar, known for their PNW cuisine from 2003 - 2013. Signature dishes included Swedish Meatballs, Fish & Chips, and Garlic Parmesan Fries. I often visited for their Fish & Chips, which is one of my favorite versions of that dish, and upgrade to their Garlic Parmesan Fries. Fortunately, all those signature items remain on their diner menu.I’m not keen on 1950s style diner, themed restaurants, or interiors, but the food is much better than you will find in any real diner. These pictures are from a lunch visit, where I ordered their Reuben sandwich with a cup of their award-winning Clam Chowder. Both were excellent! If you’re in Poulsbo and looking for a great casual dining experience, put The Green Light Diner at the top of your list. Serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. They also have a great Kid’s menu, which includes Bowl o’ P’sketty. 😊

I have to be honest. This is probably the best diner I've ever been to, regardless of location. The food is so good and the portions are generous! The service is fantastic as well. I don't understand how they get the eggs to taste so good! This is the kind of place I'd make a long drive for. Outstanding.Parking: 3 spots on the street out front and a parking lot a block away. The lot fills up fast most of the time.

When we first went here, the Reuben was delicious, one of the best I've had. Then a few months ago they changed it. So we tried some of the other foods that we previously had and something has happened. The quality took a nose dive. This last visit, however, was absolutely the worst. Our waitress came and took our drink and food orders and we literally never saw her again. They brought no condiments, no water, and never even came to see if our food was correct. Some other person came and dropped off the bill. We saw our waitress attending to all the other tables but she didn't return to ours. So now, with the food taking a nose dive and the service being absolutely offensive, I would urge others to make a different choice. It was sad for us because we came frequently a year ago.

We went here for lunch on a Saturday. It was extremely busy, but the staff were efficient and got everyone in, taken care of, and out in a short amount of time. We got pancakes (delicious), a shrimp basket (really good), and a root beer float (amazing). The atmosphere inside was great and the whole establishment seemed clean. We will absolutely be back.Parking: We parked in the big 3-hour free parking lot between the water and Front Street.Kid-friendliness: We brought a toddler with us and he was able to sit in the provided high chair. They have a kid’s menu with great options and pricing.

The crab cake Eggs Benedict was a bit bland, nothing special for the crab cake and the hollandaise was a bit bland and watery.Poached eggs did not have a very runny yolk but looked beautiful.Red potatoes in the chicken fried steak dish were really good. Best flavoring and softness in the county. Chicken Fried Steak was one of the smaller ones in the county, or smallest. Seemed like the flour wasn't fully mixed in on the chicken fried steak as I could still sense it even though the steak was fully cooked.Asked for easy eggs since the waiter said a hard white is easy in their restaurant (sometimes to get a hard white, need to order medium, as that is usually the definition.)One egg had no runny yolk and both eggs had a crispy brown edge. It's a lot of little misses, and sounds like complaints, just commentary. I would still go back and maybe order a different dish.It was late morning on a Friday and seats were filled almost as soon as people left. I wouldn't recommend weekends because it seems like there would be a wait.

While visiting Poulsbo, We stopped at the Green Light Diner for lunch. It is a nice little place to grab a bite to eat, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it's right in the heart of Poulsbo. It has a little of that 50's feel with a few antiques, jukebox and diner style decorations and of course the typical diner smell. We were seated quickly. Everything was tiday and clean. We were swiftly greeted by our server and got our drink order. Our food order went smooth with no errors, and a great recommendations. The taste overall was good. We didn't get our appetizer ahead of our lunch, it all came out at the same time, which was a little disappointing, but we made it work. The fried pickles chips were crispy and salty, a tasty little coin! We got them with ranch instead of horseradish. The patty melt was tasty and a good size. The grilled cheese was underwhelming, the sourdough bread was good but the presentation and insanly thin layer of supposedly 3 cheeses, was not melty, gooey or tasteful, it was dry and not very flavorful, I was so looking forward to a gooey, buttery, stringy cheesy goodness but got something that looked like it could have been microwaved and the throw on a griddle to toast the bread. The Green Light diner has great servers, it's clean and the food is pretty good. Definitely plan a meal here when visiting or grab a coffee and warm up, it's worth a stop, just skip the grilled cheese.

My second visit for breakfast while traveling for work.I was greeted promptly at the host stand. Offered a table or a seat at the counter as I was dining alone I chose the counter. Hot coffee was offered and accepted readily.I chose one of the breakfast discussions from the board. 8 pieces of fried chicken(think Buffalo wings) excellently fried and covered in a maple glaze on top of a Belgian waffle and served with syrup and a maple bacon butter! Completely awesome!

Green Light Diner is a quaint spot to grab a bite. In the area there are not many options to choose for brunch, green light diner is a good location to try something new. We came here twice recently and tried a variety of foods from the waffles, salmon omelet, the hawks nest skillet, crab cakes Benedict and a few other items. The waffles were amazing! As was the skillet. Unfortunately the other foods were lacking either with eggs being close to watery, or not enough salt infused in the dishes to provide seasoning. Regarding customer service the staff always has a smile on their face and is friendly but could use some proper training. The first day we came it was busy, our waitress took our order and then basically disappeared in the back until it was time to take our check. There were about 4 other waitresses/hosts conveniently hovering around the bar when tables should be checked up on. Both times we came the waitress did not check to see if we needed refills. As well we did travel with a child, we had to ask multiple times for crayons, kids menu, high hair or the works.

I enjoy this place quite a bit. Usually no wait. I ate at the counter. Service from Rachel was excellent. Ordered the shrimp and grits. Very good and just the right amount of spice I like. I am not someone who enjoys foods that are extremely spicy. These are just right for me. Normally they come with fresh fruit but, I opt for sliced avocado instead which they are happy to do. Restaurant is always clean and not excessively noisy. Parking can be difficult during busy tourist seasons but, the walk is very scenic. Looking forward to my next visit.Update: Ate there this morning Jan 16. This dish no longer includes a side but honestly it does not need it. Whoever was cooking the shrimp and grits nailed it. Shrimp was delicious and perfect texture. Firm but not chewy at all and seasoning had just the right amount to balance with the grits and shrimp. Delicious! You may notice a gap between my reviews. I had ate there in between but something was off, at least with my favorite dish. Seasoning had been too heavy. I figured they were going through different cooks or something with ingredients. Happy to report that this is back at the top for me and shall be returning very soon!July 2023. About 6 months since my last review. Just adding more pics. I don’t get here as much as I like despite living one town over. Mostly because my favorite time to come is the weekend before 9am but, it is hard when you are the only morning person in the house.I had my go to again and still delicious. My son had the special which was a portobello mushroom eggs Benedict. We added a side of bacon to the table which was just the right amount of crispy for bacon.

The Benedict was cooked perfectly. I do not recommend the chicken and waffles. They use chicken strips dipped in syrup, not fried chicken. I don’t expect authentic chicken n waffles in the middle of Washington, but that was just bizarre and should not be sold.Just get some and eggs or gravy.

My sister's took me here for my birthday brunch. Service was great, super nice and attentive. Most of the food was really good. My sister's loved their dishes which was chicken strips and a bacon omelet. My Hungry Viking was good but it was lukewarm. The eggs, hash browns and ham were almost cold and the biscuits and gravy were warm but not hot. It was still good but in hindsight I wish I would have asked for it to be warmed up. It was my first time there but the menu looks really good so I will be trying them again.

A great little diner in central Poulsbo. Very busy on Halloween lunchtime got the staff a bit “snowed” and made service a bit slow. But the food was great (Shared a Shrimp basket). The servers (Marie, Madi and Skyler) were all in costume and in high spirits despite the rush.Great Art Deco / 50’s flavor. A definite repeat.Loved itIan McFall

Yum!Clean, fresh, tasty! Food came out faster than expected.Chicken and waffles are huge! Chicken is tasty, but it is bone-in, not tenders. Make sure to try the special butter with the waffles. The crab cakes were mild but tasty. These would be great for introducing someone to seafood or crab cakes. It was listed as an appetizer, but it was plenty for a meal.

My wife and I brought our 22-year-old daughter along for this restaurant review. Being that we already love downtown poulsbo we figured reviewing this restaurant would be perfect since we have never eaten here before. As soon as you walk in you kind of throwing back to the fifties with all the nostalgic photos on the wall and jukebox in the corner, we like it! I had a simple clubhouse sandwich with chili which I enjoyed thoroughly. My wife had a country fried steak which being is picky as she normally is she ate almost the whole dish. Our daughter had some eggs with a side of macaroni and cheese which she couldn't even eat all of it so we ended up taking leftovers home but she did like it very much. We sat in a booth the back of the restaurant which gave me a good view of their operation. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and not rude although I could see if she was a bit busy. The odd thing for me was using the restroom and finding a large floor/polishing scrubbing machine sitting stored in there but the bathroom was clean so at least that was a positive. The food was a little pricey for us we spent over $100 which we were a little shocked at. After paying our bill the staff honestly did not seem interested in us anymore: No one said goodbye or have a good day or anything which was a little disappointing. Overall, we like everything else about this restaurant, the atmosphere, food and location are great.Cheers,Another James review.

My husband and I visited your establishment recently and encountered several issues with our order. The peach Italian cream soda lacked flavor, and the ranch dressing served with our salads was thick and coagulated. Additionally, the mayonnaise on our club sandwiches was gelatinous and yellow, indicating that it had been left out for an extended period. Furthermore, our sandwiches, which should have been served cold, were warm. We kindly request that these issues be addressed to ensure a better dining experience for future customers.

Diner food just hits a little differently, doesn't it? Something about walking into a place with old school diner accents, but end of millennium cushioning just takes you back to childhood with your grandma, where the food is secondary to the milkshake.Young wait staff tried to keep focused, but I think a few of them were still "green" to the job, but carried quick smiles for guests, while trying to adjust to the change in customer volume as dinner rush began. Our waitress forgot utensils and straws, another sat a couple at a nearby table with a promise they could move to the 2 person booth when it became available, but didn't push out the people from the bar who practically ran to take the seats. But hey, it's a diner and the food hits right. Just be patient with the staff as they learnWheelchair accessibility: Nice long entryway just for those in wheelchairs

Its a cute diner, perfect for brunch on the main market street in Poulsbo. They are dog friendly, offer outdoor seating and have great food. They had a couple of meatless and vegetarian dishes (garden burger) that was perfect for our family as we are a mix of meat eaters, vegetarian and ovo-vegetarian. 4⭐️ because I wish the pepper/salt and ketchup bottles on the bottles were sanitised or use and throw sachets were provided in these covid times we live in. However, inspite of this their service was great, food was delicious and I would visit again!

After reading reviews of this place, my friend and I made it a must-stop during our Poulsbo day trip. The place looks cute and very 50s dinner like, and after 10 min inside, we ordered our meals and drinks. We got the drinks pretty quickly, but had to wait an hour to get our food. We literally counted 3 tables where people arrived after us, got their food, and left before we got our meals. When we finally got our lunches, and devoured them, my friend found a piece a plastic in her coleslaw (see picture)... the sandwich, burger and fries tested ok otherwise.

A charming diner with countless offerings that are all very tasty. Fried oysters, burgers, clam chowder, shrimp po’ boy, onion rings, etc were all very good. While the cocktails were only so-so, their milkshakes were outstanding. Try the apple pie milkshake—you simply will not be disappointed. Weekends during the summer can be very busy, so make sure you plan ahead! B+/A-

Uppity diner serving some classic and some more interesting dishes with a phenomenal all day breakfast menu and hardworking staff. I like the classic diner theme, though I think they need some help getting their branding to be a little more cohesive. The corned beef hash was good, though I'd be up for trying something different next time. My wife loved the Hungry Viking dish which was a bed of hash browns, eggs, ham steak, bacon and sausage gravy. Considering the upscale tourist main street location, their prices were reasonable. I would definitely come back again.

Staff at the green light diner was awesome! Five stars for serviceI've come here a few years and I can see the food quality has slipped a bit.We are had lunch, fries were cold, shrimp with small and rubbery, the melt was a bit too greasy. Realizing there is a balance between a greasy burger melt getting to greasyThe very very best hand dipped onion rings. Yum.Definitely try anything like this that is more home-baked and created versus heat and eat.We support our small business in poulsbo like everywhere else. And we know that cold fries can happen... Just with room temperatures and a slight delay on delivery.Thank you so much for feeding us, see you again for another goWe've heard through friends that the breakfast is the bestest!
