Don't go to Henery Hardware for concrete mix, sand, soil mixes, drain pipe and the like - unless you have all day. First you have to pay and then good luck. Try finding someone to unlock the gate. Try calling the store for help (while your car is blocking the fire lane ) and get put on hold. Go back into the store and once you've been there longer than anyone they may call someone to unlock the gate but you have to throw a fit. If your crew is on the the clock, waiting to finish, that five dollar bag of cement just cost you $150.00.

Despite all the good reviews; I want to share my experience. I was in Henery’s on 5 October to pick up some home and garden items. After experiencing what appeared to be a “racial experience” and I’ll explain why. I was looking for a chain for my Sthil chainsaw. I watched every whit employee ask every white person if they needed help looking for something, greeting them, telling them to have a great rest of their day; however, these same three employees literally just walked pass me and yes, looked at me and continued walking on and didn’t even acknowledge me. This is so disgusting and unacceptable. I paid for my items and asked for the store manager. A person by the name of John came to the front of the store where I waited. I introduced myself and he asked what can I do for you? I explained the situation and he immediately apologized and was on a hurry to do something else. And yes, his apology wasn’t sincere and he did say, there’s nothing he can do. This is the problem in today’s society there is still some racism out there and people wonder why certain ethnicity feel angry and segregated.To the store owner if you ever read your reviews, here is my recommendation, you need to do a better job in training your employees to treat people with respect. I get it, Port Townsend is predominantly white, it this is the 21st century and if we want to move ahead and fix what is wrong, we all need to be kind to each other. I will never do business there again and I don’t recommend this place to anyone. I 100% support the small family businesses but this one will be taken off my future stores. I’ve been serving my country for 27 years so the people in this country can enjoy the freedom to do whatever they want and to walk into a store and be treated like this is awful and embarrassing for both the owner and employees. Your employees are the face and reputation of your establishment.

Thank you Henery Hardware for being open early and stocked with dog leashes. I parked in the ferry line and realized I left my dog leash back in Port Gamble. A quick dash into your well stocked store secured a leash. You saved the day!

I went into Henry hardware on the 22nd of August this year 2022. I was looking for two specific things. The first item I was having a really hard time finding on my own even though I was in the right aisle. I was looking for heavy duty picture hangers but the kind I saw were not ones that I needed. I then called out to an employee who happened to be walking down the main aisle and she went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out. We both unsuccessfully tried to think of different things that would work. She even asked the guys who were doing work in the back to help. Then she asked another employee if he could come and help and he did help and together they both went above what their job was even though it really wasn't difficult but they knew that this meant a lot to me to find these heavy duty picture hangers and I said well I guess I can always get them on Amazon and I was just really thankful that they were helping me.I'm really not a fan of going into hardware stores because it seems like sometimes no one wants to help you and they figure well what does a woman know about hardware. Well I'm not a home decorator and I'm not building a home I just go in there for certain things. And these two people were the best people I've ever had help me out so yeah they get the full five gold stars and I will also send a letter to the manager or owner of the store and thank them.

Love this local hardware store. They have a little bit of everything. The customer service is amazing. We wanted a garbage disposal that was on sale, but was out of stock. They gave us a rain check for it. It came in while we were on vacation. They held it for 3 weeks & we got the sale price. We try & shop local when we can & they make it easier. Happy PT customer!

When in doubt go to Henerys, you’ll probably find it there. Port Townsend would be a pretty boring place without this amazing hardware store. The staff is very helpful and oftentimes the owner is there too helping in the aisles.

Great little hardware store. But there are some caveats.It gets extremely busy at times (weekends with nice weather) and the aisles are narrow. Trying to navigate all the unfocused shoppers can be very frustrating.They only normally stock one of most items. Need a 10in speed square? Well too bad if someone else got to it first.Parking is somewhat limited.If you get to the store when it first opens or towards the end of the day the other issues are not that annoying. But when they are at peak I've come to just avoid the store altogether.They do have a surprising selection of items despite the store's size. But if the item you are looking for is in stock is always a roll of the dice.They do have an online catalog and free shipping to the store which I have used a few times. Shipping speed, item selection, and prices were very respectable for those transactions.

Interesting reading all the good reviews here.. I'm in here at least a couple of times a week (for the past 3+ months) and I can't say I've been overwhelmed by the customer service. I had a return to make a couple of weeks ago (granted, without a receipt) and the woman practically acted like I was trying to rob the place. I get that this is supposed to be a small business/family run place and I'm sure that people try weird stuff but it ended up being a really unpleasant experience. Prices on many things are overly high (not just a buck or two) and items are not restocked regularly.. at this point if I have a choice I go somewhere else but sometimes you don't have a choice.

I cannot say enough good things about Henery Hardware! Through the pandemic they have been incredibly kind and helpful, doing curbside pickup, ordering products they don't currently have in stock, and consulting on home repair over the phone. Doug in particular has been wonderful, taking the time to talk through different product options for my needs.

Good selection, good service, clean, usually well stocked, never have to wait in line very long/always multiple cashiers open. Prices can be a bit stiff on some items but hey... they're the only game in town.

How does closing one hour early protect your workers or your patrons? I’ll help you, it doesn’t. You take employees play and you benefit no one. Also it takes less than a minute to update your hours on google, but I’m glad you took the time to print something up and place it in the top corner of the window, that really was helpful after id already driven out of my way 40 minutes and perused your outside plants.

Friendly enough staff. My specific review is regarding getting keys made.First time, I had to get a key made for work. I get back to work, and the key used was the wrong kind and didn't fit in the specific keyhole. The key was a close match and I can understand the mistake from a visual standpoint, but it incompatible. Someone else from work had to go back to get a proper key copy made another day.Second time. I went to make a couple copies of a personal key. I got home and neither worked. The pattern matches except the key wasn't cut far enough back. So, the new ones don't even enter into the keyhole far enough to work. More time wasted, unfortunately. I'll have to go back...

They carry everything you can think of. However since it's the only place in town the can charge outrageous rates on something's. Like a turbo pressure washing tip normally with quick connect maybe 50 dollars.. just the tip no quick connect 95 dollars with tip separate its 102

They were out of the masks so I went across the street to Admiral Ship Supply. What cost 6.99 at Henerys cost less than 3 bucks including tax!! That's less than half price. I know admiral is a smaller store but considering the significant price difference I think its worth a stop first or at least a phone call to check.Also of note..the guys at Admiral might be busy but they don't make u feel unwelcome when u need help.So Henerys gets two stars just for being there and Admiral gets 5. Give them a try.Edit: no one on the floor to help. When I finally found someone, he told me that they were out of what I wanted, cause it wasn't on the rack. He usually works in freight so I asked him to check. Glad I did. After following him up and down the store, I decided to wait in one spot. A woman came out to help him, and found my item, which he them brought to me. Oh, so ur not out of them I said. What a revelation.Don't expect good customer service here. They would rather say they're out of something and send u out the door, all to get on with their next task. I'm changing my score to one star.

The Honda shop at Henry is great. I have bought a mower there and had another (riding) mower serviced. They were prompt in getting the parts needed, fixing the machine and charged a reasonable rate. I highly recommend anyone who needs a Honda mower serviced to give them a shot - I was not disappointed.

This is definitely not the big box warehouse like our two big noteables (HD & L), but I assure they carry what typically necessary for a hardware store with a homegrown atmosphere that is second to none. If they don't have it, they'll take the time to accommodate getting it or steer you in the right direction to find it. Great ciustomer service is a selling point for me and I've been a customer since moving my business here in 2003.

Went to get Windex refill for Windows. Last month the price was 5.50. Today the price is 6.59 + tax. Serving others as u would like to be served- entails no customer service and not honoring military discount - because the whole store is for sale. Cherry on top: the manager stands by fraudulent price gouging so he openly disrespects veterans. (This area is mostly retired military) this is a consistent behavior since COVID19.

This is a great hardware store with a little bit of everything. Plumbing, electric, lumber, gardening supplies, paint, kitchen items, small appliances, cleaning supplies, storage containers, work clothes, tools, and more! It's not the tidiest store, but the staff will help you find what you need or order it for you.
