The owners are very educated on fish and i have been going to their store ever since they opened. and i still have multiple fish from then! this store is the reason i became so interested in fish keeping and i am very grateful to have such a wonderful store right next to my house.

Their customer service is incredible! They’re kind and very knowledgeable. It’s fun just going to see all of the fish they have available. Everything is always clean. The tanks are crystal clear! They always have a nice variety of fish. We’ve purchased many fish here, fish food, a gravel vacuum, tank lights and tank decor. 1000% recommended for any fish / tank needs or even to have a look around and see all the beautiful fish they have available! I also to follow them on Facebook and Instagram. They post frequently showing what is available from new fish to adoptable fish. We love having this store as a part of our community.

I was told about this shop by a Petco employee and I'm glad I made the drive to check it out.The owner and her husband immediately gave me a friendly greeting when I stepped into the shop. It's well lit and stocked with everything from plants, tanks, accessories, chemicals and foods for the plants and your new fishy friends.The tanks are immaculate and the fish are obviously well loved. They have a rotated diet and are socialized in nicely planted tanks. The variety here is beautiful.I got lots of great info here. The woman who helped me spent some time educating me and sharing some insight on how to improve my tank at home.They even have a program to plan you a fish to help cycle a new tank! Just an incredible resource for anyone who needs anything for a fish here.I'd make this your first stop; pricing is very reasonable and on parity with what you'd get at a chain store, but you're treating your fish much better here because they aren't being left in cold cups like at the big pet stores.Looking forward to the renovations and the move into an even bigger space soon.Mr. Frogger looks pretty happy in his new home :)

Always so kind and helpful. Great selection of freshwater critters. It is clear how much they care. (And always great music playing). Store and tanks are always clean. Our favorite place to get fish and shrimp for our aquariums.

Absolutely amazing people that work here! I’m not sure if it’s family operated but they are extremely kind and knowledgeable and were so very sweet to my boys (5 & 2). I’ve even called them for advice as I am very new to this and Sarah took the time to explain everything to me and go over the “numbers” for testing my tank water.I will FORVER shop here! They can have all my money for all I care lol Cannot stop myself from talking about them to everyone who is interested in getting freshwater fish. Thank you guys for being so sweet! And I cannot wait to purchase our dwarf gourami!

i shop there a lot. but no more i bought fish there today and my sister bought 2 expensive ones when i got home the two expensive ones were not in bag. all the rest were there. there was 3 other people present when i put the fish in the tank. i called the store about the shortage. a woman named Shara said all 3 witness are liars , including me. I have been a minister for over 30 years and never was called a Lier. as a minister i would never talk to anyone the way that woman talked to me. if she is the mgr. she will lose business ripping off a 77 yr old grandma and if not the mgr needs to talk to her 2 days gone by. the grandma did find her 2 fish 2 days later. when grandson put fish in her tank he trapped the 2 green fish in the end of bag. then she found them in the trash bag , they were long dead. i only said what i was told and saw in her tank. i gave her 2 of my fish to keep her happy ( i have 6 or 7 of the green tetra)

Updated review: November 9th 2020 is the day that they opened. After visiting I'm excited to see the dedication to the fish they have. As I spoke with the owners about, there is no dedicated fish store on the Peninsula, until now. Yeah there's Petco and Petsmart and Farmland nearby but they aren't solely about the fish. This establishment (on their grand opening) had 50+ 29 gallon tanks filled with Danios, Rasboras, Endlers, Cichlids, Gouramis, Knife Fish, Puffers, Angelfish, Bettas (not in cups) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. They only have about 60% of what they're going to normally stock (thanks Covid) some of the things to come are Discus and Crayfish to name a few. They have properly cycled all the tanks and every single fish looked happy and healthy. They anticipate in a few weeks time to begin taking special orders, they don't quite have the tanks set up for it yet. It should be noted at this time they don't have saltwater (may to come they aren't sure yet). Drystock is low right now (food, chemicals, additives, gravel/ substrate) but I'm sure that will change soon. I'll definitely be heading here for my fish from now on.Original Review:It seems as they're not quite open yet as I stopped by Sunday during their posted hours as I was in the area and always looking for new local fish stores and they didn't seem to be open yet. Still in the setting up phase it looked like. However, I'm excited there seems to be another local fish store coming into the area. I'll be leaving an updated review once I visit when they are open.

This is the only dedicated aquarium store in Kitsap County! The tanks were pristine, the fish looked great, and they have a good shrimp and plant selection too. It's worth a visit.

Clean, roomy, and close to home! Finally no ordering $20.00 worth of fish and paying $50. (Including shipping cost) Also, no "big box searching" to Gig Harbor, Silverdale, or across the bridge wasting gas and finding fish that are "on their last fins" . Anyway, I'll be going here from now on as they build out their stock and supplies. They were also eager to help and chat as much or as little as desired.

I have been shopping at The Glass Box for over 6 months. Every interaction with the staff has been wonderful and they are super knowledgeable. The shop is clean and the fish always look so healthy. I have had tremendous luck with all of my fish purchases. It’s the only place to buy them. Thank you to all the staff at The Glass Box!!

Wonderful experience visiting this place. As someone who has been in the freshwater aquarium hobby for a while now; the team here is really kind and knowledgeable. The lady who showed us around went about explaining the different varieties of fish and invertebrates they had in stock, parameters, etc. as well as a bit about some of their plants! It's really nice having a local outing to visit, that takes good care of their fish, shrimp, snails and plants. They've also got some really neat wood for scaping, bubble filters, equipment, and fish food. The tanks here are gorgeous and the inhabitants seem pretty healthy. Adopted a very cute Crowntail Betta from them, and here in one of my tanks, he's settled in comfortably and happily enjoying time all to himself. Will be visiting again sometime!

I've been hearing about The Glass Box for months (often from Petco employees 😁) so I finally made the 1.5 hour drive and IT WAS SO WORTH IT! I have a nano tank and went home with 3 clown killifish and 8 green neon tetras and they are so healthy and beautiful, they have a fantastic selection of nano fish, it was hard to choose but I'm very happy with these. Can't wait to go back for some cherry shrimp - they have the most vibrant ones I've seen!

I love this shop. The owners and workers are so very knowledgeable and friendly. They offer so much like tank starters, and giving your fry since most people get a ton. It is so clean and their fish look happy. Costs are very comparable to your bigger pet stores. But, you are getting healthier fish! They take time to talk and educate you! Thank you! Shop local!

After visiting Petsmart in Gig Harbor yesterday and looking at several of their bettas floating in their cups and then watching a customer leave with two of them to put together in a brand new 0.5 gallon tank, I decided I was not going to purchase fish supplies from there anymore given their lack of care for their fish. Found this store a few minutes later and so glad I did! They were very friendly, attentive here and helpful in providing information about medication for my fish. The fish all looked very healthy and taken care of. Bettas in particular were housed in individual tanks with filters and heaters and decor. If you are a new fish hobbyist with a million questions (like myself) this is the perfect place to go!

Absolutely phenomenal shop! I was not about to buy my fish from the Petcos or Petsmarts and end up with overbred diseased fish, so hearing about this place was a godsend. I just started getting into the hobby and they were able to answer any questions I had. They clearly love aquariums from their tank setups, and they are more interested in helping you get fish that are suited for your skill level rather than making a quick buck on kids that will inevitably kill off the animal due to lack of knowhow. The only reason I could see them not selling to you is if you somehow proved yourself to be incompetent at caring for the most basic of fish.

The woman LITERALY wouldn't sell me a molly without me bringing my fish water in for a test?!?! I have never met a fish Karen before. Kind of a bummer because the shop was very clean and the selection was good for the size of the store (it was small) The trip took over an hour one way, Wont be back.
